  1. Just like all your other songs, it's brilliant all the way until the end. The only thing left is to finish it There's not a lot of melodic variation going on with the actual source though, and it feels sandwiched between the solos. The solos are expertly written and they sound pretty good within the context of the song, but if you're going for OCR-quality you probably won't pass the judge's requirements for source usage at the rate you're going, unless there's something else that I'm missing. When you get to writing more of the song, maybe try and vary the main source melody up just a bit so it doesn't grow stale. You seem to be pretty good with this in your other WIPs, so I doubt that will be much of a problem. Parts of this song remind me of your orignal composition, "Falling from Heaven," which I recently discovered and has quickly become one of my top played songs. I just wanted to compliment you on that because that song has really stuck with me lately and I think you did a bang-up job with it! P.S. I want your sound library! The piano, drums, etc. are exactly the kind of sounds I'd like to use when I start making music
  2. I don't think it's a judges issue, I just don't think it was ever finished. And if it has, then nobody's told me about it
  3. I'm guessing you've heard Voices of the Lifestream already, right? If not, I'd highly recommend it; it's just as high of caliber as this project.
  4. Two of my favorite remixers on the site! I've already heard Audix's contribution to the DKC2 project (and it's one of my favorite songs ever!) but I'm psyched for Zyko's 3 arrangements as well! Keep on doing what you two do best Happy birthdays!
  5. Holy shit! WIN!!! Stellar work guys, I'm sure I'll be able to listen to this one on repeat for ages and find something new and cool about the song with each listen
  6. http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=11589 Here's a good one Someone else posted a WIP called "Trouble in the Treetops" but I can't find it at the moment. I'll let you know if I run across it, but if you really want it I could send you the audio file. It's not a complete song though :\
  7. Um, wow! You've improved a TON since I heard some of your first WIPs, this caught me off guard with how catchy and well-produced it was! You're doing great, man! Your flute sounds are amazing, mind telling me what you're using for your sample/soundfont? The title you picked for the mix feels perfect for the mood you've got going on, too Just thought I'd throw that in there. I like the idea of the fakeout at the end, but I think the pretend-fadeout was too long... I'd cut it down by about 50% of what it is now if I were you, so you still get the effect but it doesn't drag on as long.
  8. Not what I've come to expect from Tepid, but I guess that entering new territory like this is a mark of a talented musician Great production and a fun groove all-around, I think I actually prefer this over the winning song, too (with all due respect to Rayza.)
  9. Sure, why not? I've been doing amateur photography for about 3 years now; I'm pretty much bare-bones when it comes to equipment, I've just been running around with my Canon Rebel XSi, the kit lens, and a half-broken tripod for the most part Currently I don't even have a charger for the batteries, so I haven't been photographing much of anything lately. http://emunator.deviantart.com/gallery/ Here's a few of my faves - I do some post-processing but with these particular pictures they're straight out of the camera with nothing but a bit of cropping done
  10. Halc had a great one going on at one point, but it seems to have been purged from his Tindeck account. It was an Astral Observatory mix in a chilled out electronic style... I wish I still had it
  11. While almost all the tracks on the album caught my attention in one way or another, I gotta give a special shout-out to Bladiator on his AMAZING Wind Scene mix. I've never heard such a powerful piano remix, ever!
  12. Mine came in the mail today Listening to it now and I'm highly impressed so far! For ID3-Nazis such as myself, who should I credit the hidden track to (aside from Joshua Morse, Mustin, and Diggi Dis) and is there any real name for the track? Totally worth the 12 dollars, though!
  13. Grows on you in a very good way You've got a great percussion style and the whole soundscape is very clean. The strings in the latter half of the song are startling at first but it totally fits in with the song's overall progression. Completely different from Radiowar's other song but it's equally great
  14. Alright, let's see... The intro felt just a bit too sparse for my liking. I would put more emphasis on the strings in the beginning so that part doesn't feel so empty, or at least gradually build it up as you approach the next section. Overall, the switches between heavy and light music work well. The instrument samples/soundfonts still aren't great - search around for some free samples that might be able to spice this up a little bit, because your arrangement is definitely there, the instruments just aren't quite doing it justice. I still stand by my previous critique that certain segments feel too close to the source. The parts where you stray away from that a bit, but still keep the Krook's March mood in mind are really awesome, I wish you would incorporate more of that into the rest of the song. Overall, I'm still digging it Keep it up!
  15. The arrangement at this point is already very good; I could tell the source was present throughout but it was interpreted and unique at the same time. The guitar playing at the beginning sounded too fake when it hit certain notes, but the rest of the instruments (especially the flute) were top-notch. Great start, you'd better finish/sub this!
  16. Any chance of hearing a short project preview before this gets released to tide us over?
  17. This is surprisingly enjoyable to listen to You've definitely caught my attention. The derivative material that sandwiches in the source is really well written and flows nicely with the song - try to include more of that interpretation in the middle parts as well, where you basically hit the source verbatim. Other than that, I wasn't a huge fan of the flute sound you used, and the transition from the intro to the first segment feels just a bit too loud and abrupt. Work a bit more interpretation and rearrangement into it, pick a better flute sample, and you've got something submittable! Fantastic start!
  18. Not quite up to the amazing level of your original material, production-wise, but it's still a nice romp around an old theme. Your arrangements are always great, Neko I'm definitely getting a "Passing of the Blue Crown" vibe from much of this song, as well.
  19. Ah yeah, the top links work! What a beautiful ceremony, the location you picked was absolutely perfect
  20. Hm... how come the Facebook album redirects me to the Facebook home page when I try to view it? Do I need to befriend someone in order to view the album? :\
  21. Holy crap, live performance of Dragon Song AND Victory Festival? PLEEEAAAASSEEE tell me there's video/audio footage!! All those pictures really brought a smile to my face though... I'm just a lurker here but I'm happy for the two of you You both seem like genuinely good people and I wish you the best!
  22. Well, as strapped for cash as I am and as much as I should be pinching every penny until I get a job, you guys put together a marketing plan that's pretty hard to say no to I've only casually perused the sample tracks so this should be almost a complete surprise to me when it finally arrives. Let's hope this one doesn't disappoint!
  23. Yes, please! This would be nice :)
  24. The sustained synth at 3:20 really hit the spot for me, it felt like a climax to a completely chill and enjoyable track. You picked great synth and bell sounds too, this is exactly what I've come to expect and love from you, Rozo!
