  1. Damn! Damn! Damn! Guns, damn! Explosions! DAMN!
  2. Link's Awakening and Teen Agent are finished, the rest of the albums are close, but not finished yet. As long as you get your submission in soon (which it seems like you already have) I'm pretty sure you'd be 2nd or 3rd in line. The Megaman album still has a lot of tracks that need fixes before it'll be ready to release.
  3. I'm not sure whatcha mean. Do you mean you don't want anyone else mastering the track or you haven't been able to ask for it up until now? :-P

  4. I'm with chthonic, I'd loooove to see something 3D that can capture what I liked about Sonic Adventure 2. All complaints aside, that's one of my all-time favorite games and I hold it in extremely high regard, and I don't see any reason they couldn't recreate that feeling in a new game.
  5. I'm still really disappointed they didn't accept my art on the project!
  6. Hey Rozo, I just noticed some clipping and weak samples in Spume, I think you ought to go back and fix that up! Nah seriously, I've heard a lot of songs from the project and they're pretty great quality. Major props to folks like Proto, Will, halc, chth, Stevo, Rozo, DA, and the alike for really taking this project to the next level, I can't wait for the final release! It's been a long time coming
  7. Congrats on getting hitched! The remix is really awesome and, although the mixing isn't quite as full as I'd hope for, since it was all a live performance I bet the judges would probably give it a bit of leeway on that front. The remix itself is really cool and I'd like to see it on the site, personally!
  8. Oh my god, that guitar sequencing at the end of the song... SO GOOD! HOW DO YOU DO IT!?
  9. I can only hope your DKC3 mix is a fraction as good as this. And yes, that's a very overt hint
  10. When you guys went through the purges, did any artist that had their work removed come back and raise hell trying to get it back on the site?
  11. Your kick drum feels really weak, I'd like to hear something with a little more body to the sound, especially when you get past 2:00-ish. Other than that though? This is brilliant, I'm not able to see if the source checks out (I don't have winamp + chipamp on this new laptop) but if that's above the 50% mark on source usage, then submit the hell out of this one! Awesome work!!
  12. The Favs gave some very useful advice, before I do another mod evaluation I'd like to hear you possibly incorporate some of that feedback if you'd like. I did a precursory listen and this version sounded much improved, but since you've got a set of feedback waiting for you to evaluate I'd like to hold off on my crits until you make any of those fixes. Cheers!
  13. Get on AIM, villainous cur!

  14. mv's still around, contributing to the One Hour Compos over at ThaSauce He's also got a kickass track going for the DK3 project that you'll all get to hear soon. But rest assured, he's still very much present in the community in some way or another! Also, woah... Destiny's really been doing some awesome work, this is incredible! Good to hear she's still putting her musical talents to work.
  15. I caved and listened to the 2nd preview, and now I'm almost 100% certain that your collab is gonna be my favorite on the project I'm almost tempted to ask halc for the full version now just because I'm impatient, but... I'll refrain. Just wanted to let you know that what I did hear of your mix really spoke to me and calmed me down in a major way
  16. Seriously, considering the song makes use of a mellotron, I thought the title was great But then again, I'm also the guy who suggested that Brandon name his Dixie Beat remix on the DKC3 project "Beating our Dix" so maybe I'm not the guy to ask about this
  17. This makes me very, very happy! One of my favorite un-remixed Mario sources getting the Day's End treatment?
  18. I'm listening on super-treble-heavy headphones right now so I can't really give an accurate mod review, but I listened to your song and wanted to give some preliminary feedback. This is a really interesting mix, the production values seem generally good and you do a lot to vary up your very simple melodies and not let the song get too busy while still making it feel full-bodied, as well. I guess what I'm saying is that I like your mix, it reminds me a lot of the Earthbound soundtrack in its quirkiness. The biggest issue I can find is that your drumloops are pretty simple repetitive and don't always reflect what's going on in the rest of the track, energy-wise. That snare hit every beat tends to get grating after a while. Also, where's the ending? The track just kind of drops off into nothingness without any sort of climax or inclination that it's going to end If you'd like me to go more in-depth on production or source usage, I could try that, but see what you can do about the repetitive drumloops and maybe adding on a more conclusive ending before we delve into that. I feel like the production could probably pass as-is but the arrangement needs some touchups first I like what you've done though, good luck!
  19. Oh, and happy birthday. ~<3333
  20. PROTODOME please WILL YOU marry mE!? Please check one of the below boxes to indicate your response: [ ] Yes [ ] No [ ] I'm not even going to dignify that with a response [ ] I can't hear you over the sound of my skinny jeans [ ] BOLLOCKS!
  21. Protodome, will you marry me? Also, Fixed.
  22. Sub this, yo This is a brilliant mix, I'm sure it'd have no trouble passing with this new shiny production on it It might be a bit too conservative but I think your subtle jazzy inflections should put it above the bar in that respect.
  23. Waiting for this mix to be finished is like waiting for Duke Nukem: Forever
  24. Thoughts: The intro is really nice with some very aptly used percussive elements. The strange LFO on the flute doesn't sound right to me once it stops syncing up with the flute notes after the first bar or two. It was a neat idea but I'd prefer to hear the flutes playing at a more consistent volume. Neblix is right, the kit drums just feel really weak compared to the rest of the mix. Have you considered using a more traditional, powerful-sounding orchestral kit? If not, bump up the compression and maybe the volume on your drums, maybe add a little distortion on them... something to give them a bit more punch and body. I'm still feeling that some of your leads aren't quite cutting through... whatever you were using (flute maybe?) felt really quiet and drowned out half the time so I could barely make out the melody. I think you might have went a little overboard with Nut's criticisms about toning down the volume It's not a bad start, but I'll agree that overall this feels a little bit empty. Some of the sounds are rather weak and the writing is a bit on the simplistic side. I'm generally impressed with your work but I feel like with the arrangement you've got, you could do more to it I liked the marimba section, though it starts to carry a happy vibe that clashes with the rest of the song... some more dramatic background stabs from the strings or brass might keep the mood more consistent with the rest of the song. Weird cutoff on the shaker-sounding percussion at 2:58, that definitely needs some looking at. Very minor, but distracting issue IMO. When you bring in Ridley's theme at the end of the song, it feels pretty uninspired, to be honest. You do a better job with it after you get into the theme a bit more, but I feel like that section is meant to be the climax of the song and for the first several seconds, the arrangement of the theme just isn't grabbing me. Sorry for the disjointed critiques but I hope this gives you something to think about Nutritious is definitely the expert in this genre but I did the best I could to provide you with specific feedback that'll hopefully help you get this where it needs to be. I've got no doubt that this could be panel-worthy with some serious effort put into it!
