  1. BUMP This is falling down the list and voting time just started, so...
  2. Heh, used to love this game back in the day. Drunken missles... Having trouble grabbing the MIDI though. EDIT: I think you want THIS link instead.
  3. There's a decent accordian soundfont at Hammersound: http://www.hammersound.com/cgi-bin/soundlink.pl?action=view_download_page;ID=442;SoundFont_Location_Selected=Download%20USA;SoundFont_Filename_Selected=CampbellsHonerAccordian.sfpack
  4. I'm about 80% done with mine. Just gotta do some recording at home...
  5. LOL, yeah, I used to have centurion toys as a kid...
  6. Well done, analoq. And no, I don't think it's "unanimously" hated - I think it gave some needed variation to the mix.
  7. Nice source tune. I'll see if I can come up with anything for it.
  8. OK, got my WIP up now. This original song is a beast... and by beast I mean very little content, melodic flow, and/or recognizeable beat pattern
  9. What's your refresh rate set to? Maybe the TV doesn't support it?
  10. Put this together in a couple of days. The original made me think of those classic space opera tunes, so I thought I'd try and emulate that. My first submission of music for anything http://compo.thasauce.net/files/Nutritious_-_Cosmic_Drifting(ORC103).mp3
  11. Man, this sounds great, I don't really have anything more to add to help. One thing I noticed, though, was around 3/5ths of the way into the song, on a transition from a loud section to a build-up section, the volume suddenly drops. It almost sounds like the master fader was taking down suddently just for that transition. Other than that, good job
  12. Hey, this isn't a bad start... First, that snare at the beginning needs a lot of humanizing. It's the same exact pitch with the same exact pattern playing over and over. Try messing with the note velocities to make it sound more natural and vary the pattern so it's not so repetative. You may also want to push it back in the mix so it's not so prominent. Like Beej said, you've got a lot of buzzing synths which are taking up a lot of sonic space. I REALLY like the changeup where the percussion comes in. I think the percussion in general needs the same help as the snare in the beginning - more humanizing and changeups. The hihats are very static and monotonous and the triangle is the same. Ok, the guitar just cut in, it's really getting muddy in the mix now. It sounds like it's competing with the synths for space. You need to either cut out some sounds at that point, EQ out some frequencies, or get creative with some panning... maybe all three. Now the saw just came in and it's the same as above - it's really muddying up everything by being layered on top. Other than that, I think this song is sticking too closely to the original. It seems to have the same chord progressions and flow, so I'd say it qualifies more as a cover rather than an arrangement. Try varying up, mess with new ideas and try to reinterpret the original. Again, good start, I think this has potential.
  13. Updated Track: -Completely remade the drums, I think they fit in better now -Added a gated track to fill in some of the background empty space -General other stuff To be done: -Record a another saxophone section for second half of song, just haven't had time yet -More development of key change section
  14. Just to add to what Neo said, if you have a game that needs to read from a CD, you'll need to run this command before executing the game: mount d D:\ -t cdrom This assumes that D: is the drive letter of your cdrom. For more commands and help in the system, type intro intro mount intro cdrom One more thing, if you find that your game is running too slow, you may need to up the cycle rate on the dosbox emulator. The amount of cycles that you can set it to depends on the speed of your computer. This is how I usually do it: Open Task Manager and minimize it (to give you the CPU meter in the bottom right taskbar. Ctrl + F12 to raise the cycles Ctrl + F11 to lower them Keep an eye on your CPU meter to see how high it raises when you up the cycles. Again, you'd only need to do this if games are running slow on your computer and you have the excess processing capacity.
  15. Getting error: You have reached the download-limit for free-users. Want to download more? Can you upload it somewhere else?
  16. While this is a great song, they're only doing original Star Fox stuff unfortunately
  17. Good job, sounds like you have the clipping under control - as far as I can hear at least. It sounds like the general level of the song might be a little low now, though. I'm having trouble comparing the level of this song with other orchestral pieces on this site, though, because this is on a stream - so I can't tell you for sure. The beginning tubular bell sounds a little too close to the foreground, I think. Percussion is usually in the back of the orchestra, so I think it could be pushed back a bit in the mix. I think, generally, the song could benefit from more dynamics. Mainly back off a little on some of the softer, sweeping sections. I actually do like the ending how it is, except I'm not sure I like the bell hit at the end. It is out there alone and seems to stand out too much. I'd say either take it out or put it to play right at the end of the fortissimo at the end so it feeds off of the energy of the rest of the instruments. This may be more a matter of opinion though. I think my main point of advice would be not to become impatient with submitting this to the site. You could benefit here from remixers with a lot more experience and knowledge of orchestral pieces than I have.
  18. I'm going to have to second the Asteroid suggestion - that's just a great song...
  19. Ah, this is an excellent start. I haven't played any C&C games in years, but I can somewhat remember the OST. First of all, I noticed what sounds like quite a bit of clipping on beats one and three starting about a third of the way through the song. As a start, you need to make sure your master level never exceeds 0dB, otherwise you start getting distortion. Bring down some of your levels to get below this point. If it's getting too quiet, you can add some light compression to some of the individual parts to bring them out. I'm not sure if the intro really prepares the listener for the epic-sounding orchestra that comes in later. As you mentioned above, this does need more variation and melodic content, but it's sounding really nice so far.
  20. Hmm, that is pretty weird. Did you try clearing your browser cache?
  21. Nice vid, Miszou! As for the mistiming of the audio and video, I used to have the same problem when I was using fraps a few years ago. What program are you using to capture the video? Might also want to check your framerates to make sure they match and are consistent when overlaying both videos.
