  1. It's a kind of funky track with a slight gritty edge. download it from here http://www.myspace.com/groovemaster303 This is my second full track i've done using FL studio and i think i'm making good progress. I feel the decision to move from Reason to FL was the right one. Of course i think rewire will get me the best of both worlds, but for now i just want to concentrate on improving my FL skills.
  2. The 8500GT is a good card but there is always something better sadly. The SE and LE models tend to be stripped down to near nothing avoid them like the plague. If your unsure about the 8500GT don't buy it wait a couple of months and then the 8600GT will probably drop in price and you will snag a great bargain. Just in case you have not seen this here is a link with the specs of the Geforce 8 series and a comparison of the 8500GT and 8600GT models http://www.ozhardware.com.au/content/view/39/1/ It's a good read and will let you know exactly what card does what. To add to the confusion a little but could be worth a look check out the 7900GS which performs really well in the test provided in the review above.
  3. The Heavenly Sword demo was just too damn short. I didn't like it too much but saying that I am playing through Ninja Gaiden Sigma right now and to be honest i don't think anything bar Devil May Cry and God Of War can hold a candle to the sheer greatness of NG (all versions)
  4. The Geforce is your weak point. the 7300 gs is a low-end card which can play most games at average/low settings but for something like Crysis, Quake wars etc it's no good at all. Upgrading your GPU will give you better framerates and higher resolutions all-round on all the games you mentioned. Lots of better cards are out there right now for cheap prices. but if you really want to play the likes of Crysis and QW at the best possible quality your pc can handle then you might be better off saving your money for the next wave of DX10 cards to be released.
  5. GRAW2 demo is online in the Euro store as of today. not sure about the US or Jap stores though.
  6. Thanks for your comments and for the advice. After years of messing around with various grooveboxes, synths and drum machines and other software like Reason, Ableton Live i've moved onto FL7 (last month) as i believe it's the best way to take my skills to the next level. Many of my favourite remixers on OCR (who i have the greatest respect for) use FL and when used to it's full potential, some really amazing music can be produced, the quality of final mixes is astounding. I used to prefer Reason, but after hearing the Under Logic remix "Above Reason" by Tefnek and Zircon and a comment mentioning something about how they both prefered FL to Reason i decided to move on and continue my quest to become a music god.... well a respected remixer
  7. Just wondered if anyone else has tried the GRAW2 demo on PS3 and what your thoughts are. I've just had a quick run through the demo myself and compared to the 360 version it looks dull and lacks colour while the 360 looks vibrant and lively i can't believe the difference between the two. it's very noticable if you run both versions side by side, also the framerate is a bit iffy, other than that it's more or less the same.
  8. I've always been a fan of anything Roland especially the drum machines and it's great to be able to find a sample pack with the classic 808/909 sounds but also the less popular but still quite good TR-606 and 707. Nice a little to see the MC-303 being used, that was my very first groovebox i ever bought back in 2002 after learning the basics prior with the Yamaha DJX and Music 2000.
  9. Originally produced for Streets Of Rage Remake this remix is my version of what i thought Max Man should should like. I never liked the original version in Streets Of Rage 2, although i know many people who think it's one of the best tracks on the entire Sor2 soundtrack. That in itself provided me with a challenge, to take a song i don't like and make it into something that i would enjoy listening to. I gave the track a high energy feeling, much like the original but in my own style which i think works pretty well overall. I've uploaded this here in OC so any fans of the Sor series can listen to the it. but I won't be improving it any more as the original version i did is nearly a year old now and i've since moved onto better software than i what i originally did this remix on. i revisited the track just to make it sound cleaner and less muddy than before, it's not perfect by any means. but it's the best i could do with what i had. Maybe in the future i'll start again and do a more polished mix but i want to concentrate on doing some original material for now. anyway here it is. 10. I agree, the default skin is spot on
  11. Good post... as always anything for free is pretty much perfect and this is no exception. if your really serious about Orchestral music than you really do need to spend some cash but for those of us who just want to try it out it's pretty damn good.
  12. DMC4 is going to be wicked cannot wait for this.
  13. For the PS3 i have to agree, you really do need to use a HDTV. Everything looks dreadful on 480i just look at the XMB the text is blurry and lacks clarity. With the 360 it's not too bad, but the fact for a few quid you can grab the official VGA lead and use any old pc monitor for some high definition gaming is a big plus in my book. It might not be as cool as your mates 40inch HD telly but it saves spending big bucks on one for the time being. Does the PS3 have support for VGA yet?
  14. Well i'm after doing something a little different and i'm pretty good with Reason so sure i'll contribute. Send me a PM if you want and we can talk more. Dreamin in the 80's sounds like good remix material
  15. I have a fair bit of knowledge about Roland and Korg synths, grooveboxes and drum machines having owned a fair few in the past. feel free to ask me anything as i may be able to help you. Do you know the names of the Roland and Korg models you were looking at?
  16. I've done a little more work on the track tweaking and adding a few final touches and just making the overall mix tighter and more punchy. Gamesmaster (Final Mix) http://www.zshare.net/audio/2690158887cb5b/
  17. do what you feel is right. Don't let others tell you how to do your remix though. If you had an idea of where you would like to take the mix, then do it.
  18. I'm glad i got rid of mine when i did. Sony are a bunch of muppets.
  19. Amazing stuff here Zircon This would be perfect for a Ninja Gaiden type game I love it.
  20. hmmm better start thinking about upgrading my pc.
  21. For me it's got to be GRAW on 360 when you fight that Carlos bloke or whatever his name is. I remember the first time i got to that part in the game and bullets were flying all around me and he just died... one of my dodgy AI teamates came good in the end and killed him it was a terribe final showdown to a great game i never even got a single shot off.
