  1. You could try superwave p8 or genesis, they aren't quite the same, but they can get those really full sounds and they're both free. One warning though, Genesis doesn't work properly in FL for me.
  2. Too bad you can't have the ctf hud, but that's valve's problem, I'm having the same problem on a map I'm currently attempting. It's ctf, but the capture zone is in the middle attached to a control point, the flag is in the enemies base, but once you have it you can't score unless you control the single control point in the middle. I'm hoping people who hate ctf can just go for the cp and still enjoy it. It's going well in the building stage so far though. We should try out meridian on the server sometime.
  3. Haha, greatest moment on dustbowl tonight, I can't remember names, but this is pretty much how it went down. "Okay here's what we're gonna do, I'll kritzkrieg the heavy, then someone ubers him, and another medic uber me, then we'll all be invincible with all crits on the heavy." (simple enough concept) "3...2...1...Round Start" "Okay, everyone ready!? UBERCH- *Heavy dies* -ARGE!" 3 medics all ubering eachother run out and can't do a thing, it was great.. You had to be there...
  4. You might as well have put this in the remixing section instead of FL section, no (or extremely few) remixers use any of the default FL sample-sets, they use more advanced and expensive sets, like kontakt, or EWQLSO stuff. But you need to start somewhere so if you're a beginner, worry less about sample quality and more about composition, it will help you to become a better musician until you know what you're getting into with sample libraries. That's just my advice, please take 1 hour before eating with a grain of salt.
  5. I know, I was just having a little fun, I've had to deal with these things on other forums, I know they aren't fun to deal with.
  6. Well, it could be used for anything really, you could use the wheels for sweeping frequencies on sounds or something if you wanted, just fool around, there's really nothing specific that has to be done.
  7. Ahem, *In a very polite yet stern voice* Please go away, right now... seriously, you aren't wanted here. Do you expect anyone at all to click on those? Honestly? It's simply insulting that you think we would. Mods, please do the honors. BANHAMMER
  8. WMP doesn't support Vorbis very well, I'd recommend getting winamp or something.
  9. I was having a great time as a spy on granary yesterday, the server was dead, so me and brushfire go it going, then it picked up quick and I decided to work on spy, I got 7 backstabs in a life all in a row... (tied garian's record too...)
  10. I could make the html page if necessary, but I just read that link again and apparently, all you need to do is put a direct link to the page where the stream is into your favourites list, then the players type favourites, it pops up on the side and they choose what they want. It's explained quite clearly here: http://www.mani-admin-plugin.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=66&Itemid=25 I tlooks quite easy to do, but I'm not sure if it will work. No harm in trying it, if not that then I'll make the html page.
  11. Did you take a look at this Bahamut /\ (yes that's right I'm quoting myself!) I think that's how they managed to embed the radio stream, although, if someone knows how to convert html to motd.txt then I can just whip up an html doc for it if you want.
  12. the winner was DDR Kirby, not bundeslang, but I agree, it is very good, I've had it on my computer for a while, I was going to recommend it until I saw that it alread had been recommended.
  13. http://www.mani-admin-plugin.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=66&Itemid=25 ^Look what I found. That should explain how to do it right? I don't know how to use mani. It seems from that explanation however that it would just cause you to like to a radio station right after typing it, without the big list, but according to that theory, if we made one of those motd.txt documents that was just a list of links to the feeds, then it would probably work right?
  14. Well, I'm not sure how you set up the server stuff, how did you get the whole "Welcome to OCR...No sticky camping...etc." page up? Is there just a text box to write in? did you have to make an html page? I can code basic html and have embedded media players before, but I'm sure someone else would be more capable, we do have website designers around here don't we?
  15. My favourite setup is the one [-Q-] clan uses, here's what it is... you type music in the text box and this pops up IN GAME It appears to be some version of the server startup screen or something (can you make html pages for the server? Because if you can this would be easy.) You pick your music, then this pops up (in this case I chose trance) Now the music plays and you can close the window, it streams straight through WMP, which allows you to always change volume etc. and you never need to leave the game, You can just type music again, it closes the previous music and lets you pick new stuff. If it is at all possible, this would be the most preferable method for music, and as far as I can tell, it doesn't even need a mod. It's very hassle-free and has always just worked for me. Is it possible for us to do this instead?
  16. I was glad to see lazytown on the rotation yesterday, I really like that map. For radio stations I still vouch for some dj.fm stuff, We're consistently getting a bigger crowd on steel, I think we got over 14 people last time.
  17. What!? We're losing Rambo! NOOOOOOO! But it is for a good cause, so good job!
  18. I think he just meant the instruments, but said effects. "wondering if it was possible to use effects from the keyboard, rather than the instruments in FL studio" I don't know anyone who would replace instruments with effects, wouldn't work too well.
  19. Be careful with the lingo you use, effects are things that are applied to audio, not audio itself, but yes, you probably can use the sounds from your computer, however you will most likely have to record raw audio, (that means you can't use them as an instrument). However I'm not knowledgeable in this area so I'll let someone else take over.
  20. ... Genesis has great sounds, but for some reason it doesn't run properly for me, it spikes my under-runs like crazy and causes tons of crackles and pops when I use transport controls.
  21. I didn't even bother looking on 1.fm to see how it was, I'm not really interested in that half of the music, but I figured some other people would, I'm more interested in the dj.fm half. I checked out dj.fm and that one works fine for me.
  22. Actually, from what I can tell, cuil is improving rather quickly, I'm sure it checks what people are searching for and then will look for things relating to some of the more searched things. I actually like the layout and the category narrowing, and the type suggestions. All of the things you've said that don't work, worked fine for me, it must be learning fast. It does seem to have a problem with spaces and punctuation, I searched for thasauce and found it fine, tha sauce didn't find anything relavent. Same with vgmix and vg mix. It has potential, they're probably waiting to advertise a lot until it's been beta'd by the public and is sufficient enough to make a good impression, although I hope they make it very clear how it is pronounced, its useless to have a 'cool' (haha, a pun) name if everyone is too scared to talk about it for fear of pronouncing it wrong. I'll be keeping an eye on it. Also, did someone say there was an image search? Because I can't find it, and searching for it yields nothing.
  23. I found a great radio station we can stream, a -Q- server had it in their music page and I loved it, this was their music selection; from dj.fm Trance Vocal Trance Chillout House Goa-Psy Trance Hardcore Progressive Euro Dance Drums 'n' Bass Techno DJ Mixes from 1.fm; Rap Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Alternative Rock 50s & 60s 80s 90s Country Flashback Bombay Beats Smooth Jazz Urban Adult ^ I think that list probably provides something for everyone, I personally love the trance station. If you get the radio thing working then... pretty please? I was also playing on cp_lazytown and it was pretty fun (specifically the nighttime version.)
  24. We could try the castle one, and toy fort is pretty good.
  25. It's sweet that we're getting radio, I saw that on another server and loved it. As for recommendations, definitely ormgas if it works, I know it streams differently than others. As for rtv it'd be good to have a custom map or two, that way, even if it's not on the rotation, but if people really want to play them they can vote.
