  1. lol! That's ten times better than what most of us have, don't worry about it, most of us are just starting out and this is practice for us, I'm sure if you're using EWQLSO it'll be fine. There aren't really any standards for this compo, so just have fun and submit something!
  2. Velocity sensing just means that it can read how hard you hit/press the key, it is a common trait in almost all keyboards, it's unrelated to key action. Chances are that the keyboard is synth action and they're just not telling you. If it were semi-weighted or hammer action they would make a point to tell you.
  3. A few I forgot include Metal Gear Solid 1 - Sadly I don't own the game, but I sometimes borrow it and play through it once or twice, Also, I'm suprised I haven't seen Goldeneye on this list yet (forgive me if I missed it) its such a classic, Everytime I put it in I at least run through the Dam on agent or 007 agent, its easy, but it's a blast to just cruise through. I also play the multiplayer whenever I get a chance. Recently I picked up Ninja Gaiden 2 and Super Metroid on VC I never had the chance to play either of these before, not even SM, but I'm glad I got them, I haven't finished a run through NG yet, but I've gone through SM once, NG is getting more playtime though, it's fun to memorize the levels and see how far I can make it in one sitting.
  4. I'll be voting on this when I have time after work, I just discovered Ourstage in the last topic like this. It's good to see that other people out there like music made by our small community, good publicity opportunity aswell.
  5. Thanks, nice work on your song too, it turned out well.
  6. Any Megaman Game, I often pick up Megaman Zero for the GBA when I just want some quick platforming, I've been through the classic DKC series a bazillion times, still a ton of fun. Mickey Mouse Haunted Circus <- Best game EVAR!
  7. I'm sadly gonna have to skip out on this one, inspiration eludes me (not that I'm terribly eccentric like that), so I'll see you guys next month, I'll hopefully have time to vote though. Good Luck!
  8. Will do Chief! I've never made just a midi before, so I'm figuring it all out. Making a percussion track threw me off for a little bit, but I looked back at other people's midis. For some reason every midi that I export the volume is freakishly low, I'll get to that later, I might have a few questions for you yet about midi making.
  9. I know that a considerable amount of people use Logic Studio, it's made by apple for macs, so no compatability issues... Not sure about piano rolls or anything, I don't have any personal experience with it, but I know that it's got a linear workflow, so it could take a little bit to adjust to if you're used to FL Studio.
  10. Pick your favourite number and stick with it, or is this your evil twin's number?
  11. Simple fix, works for everything... right click >"Save Target/Link As..." done.
  12. I thought about that actually, so I slowed it down a bit before uploading it, it used to be faster! Also, I figure that not too many epileptics would be on a VIDEO GAME remixing site, so I think we're safe.
  13. It seems like most compos around here need a bit of help, CMC is doing well, but could always use a few more entrants, PRC has consistently been getting entries, but it's mostly the same people, so I agree that we should try to get a few more, (I've been planning to enter lately, but the 1 week deadline is tricky to work into my schedule, I'll manage it one of these times.) ORC is currently trying to get off of the ground, this month and last it boasted only 2 entries, it's sad for something that used to do so well. I think we just need a mega OCR campaign, but as it has been said, we want more remixes, not midi-rips...
  14. I was wondering that myself actually, I noticed it was older, but didn't know which version it was.
  15. lol, good luck. I've noticed how much you love orchestral stuff, I've also noticed that most CMC voters (myself included) love orchestral stuff, you've been on a winning streak lately.
  16. lol, seems like we're kinda trashing that "no comments in voting stage" rule, hope we don't get our butts kicked by doulifee. Good luck to you aswell. And it's not my first compo entry persay, (I've entered 2 CMC's) but it's my first ReMix ever, (CMC is for original songs). Hopefully we get a good voting and critique turnout because we sure didn't get many entrants. EDIT: We shall forcefully make the people vote, (that, or I just got bored,) ^ remove the *'s
  17. In midi settings change omni preview channel to "--" and also generator muting channel to "--". That should fix it up, also just as a side note, if your keyboard is velocity sensing you might want to link velocity to "velocity". Problem solved.
  18. First try just loading up a new project (from a blank template) and see if that fixes it, if not then has it worked in the past or is this the first time you've used this keyboard? Also check if you have any zones or groups running on your keyboard, you'll want the whole keyboard transmitting to one channel. Also go to the midi options in FL studio, check that things are set-up properly there. Try these things out, good luck!
  19. I'm very disappointed with the turnout actually, oh well, if I get a little feedback all will be right in the world. I'd vote if I could, but it seems rather pointless to me... Get your butt in there and vote people!
  20. Fool around a little bit, see if you can find a way to make something close, don't be afraid to try running odd things on your drums (chorus, phaser etc.) You might be surprised what you can come up with. And yes, that does seem to be some compression, I fooled around a bit and you can get a very similar effect by running it through an intense compressor. I used FL Studio's compressor with -60 threshold, 30:1 ratio, boost 30 gain, 0 attack, 1ms release. I had to boost the gain after but you get a similar sound to that.
  21. I think I previously had Magus, but that simply wasn't original enough. I've noticed as I read these forums that I've entirely associated the person with the avatar, I check the avatar first then if I don't recognize it then I'll read the name, for this reason I'm glad that there are so many avatars, it's easy to find one that is unused, but still suits you in some way. I chose Shadax from Solstice (old nes game) because he's shady and mysterious, also I was trying to play the game recently and put in the cartridge only to result in a messed up jumble of colours on screen with the title track playing, the tune was catchy and I decided to listen through it until a loop, I sat there for at least three minutes, an insanely long song for an intro track (that will almost certainly just be skipped over instantly) for a game with almost no music in the actual game, next time you load up old solstice, give the intro track a listen.
  22. I got it, I just find them rather annoying is all.
  23. I hate download sites like that, make you wait, give you popups... etc. You should try out tindeck.
  24. Finished my mix; Aerial Groove My first re-mix ever, so I'm not sure if I stayed close enough to the source, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless, I'll take any critique I can get. I enjoyed doing this mix, bitcrushed drums and a little bit of glitch, it was fun to fool with. Let me know what you think. Enjoy!
  25. Well that, and also the fact that it's only in its second month of revival, we should get some banners around and spread the word, how popular was it back in its day?
