  1. your reading comprehension is fairly dyslexic i hear they make a cream for that
  2. so don't watch steam train. also jon clearly wasn't paying attention or trying to care about the new games they were playing and it was kind of stupid. he was gold at first but it definitely wasn't going to get better from there.
  3. multiplayer mario would be so easy to ruin. it runs from a communal pot of lives so all it takes is a griefer killing himself constantly and 3 people are instantly turned off the game why would nintendo want to introduce anyone to that
  4. the reason i hate this line of reasoning is literally the only thing added from super mario bros. 3 to super mario world (considered like the two best mario games, of all time by plenty of people) was the addition of the cape and the spin jump. and the cape was only slightly different from the raccoon suit.
  5. as a long time sejuani player i agree with you but they really didn't change that much at all except the duration of w, the fact that the ability itself gets frost, and if r doesn't directly hit anyone it just slows.
  6. i get that. i'm just pointing out that duos often average the odds inaccurately when low-level players are involved.
  7. if they do i'm sure it will save them a bunch of people but after all this i took a long hard look at why i would want to have an xbox over a ps4, and looked through my 360 games and saw how many of them i could only play on xbox. long story short: halo games and gears of war. i like both of those series quite a bit but there are so many other series on playstation last generation that i'm either interested in or could see myself liking. uncharted, jak and daxter, metal gear solid (at least 4 was only on playstation), kingdom hearts, infamous, god of war (that's a REALLY big one), gran turismo, little big planet, sly cooper, rachet and clank and motorstorm. that's a lot. i probably like the xbox controller a little bit more but how hard is that to get used to really? and the whole goodwill thing is frankly big as well. i'm more inclined to give my money to a company who at the very least has the good sense to not try and pull something like that without thinking it requires a very good, thorough explanation. even though i now have a better understanding of what they're doing with xbox, and it's not all bad, their approach was 'hey, we're microsoft. this is what you're going to buy. take it. we don't care if you don't like it because you're sheep and like halo so you'll buy it.' i'm glad if this is true, because it's healthier for everyone, but it doesn't change my mind. edit: it's true. but really? don mattingly posted this? he should be fired by now.
  8. see sometimes that's true but the issue being that statistically it is possible for you to get put on 6 or 7 teams in a row that *should* lose, which is equivalent to losing one or two ranks in your league. if you then win 60 to 65% of your games from then on out it'll take you 20-25 games to get that amount of LP back, or longer if you don't win your advancement series. i was steadily advancing through silver, was at the top of silver 3 about to go into my series, and got 12 losses in a row, 8 through afk, 4 through just plain not very good teams dropped all the way to the bottom of silver 5. is that riot's fault? technically no. is it realistic or fair? also no. also that's not how duos work in low leagues. duos are routinely just as bad (if not worse) than their teammates, and because it improves the hidden elo of the opposing team it's rarely an advantage. i legitimately can't remember the last game i was in where i had a stated duo on my team and won.
  9. i am in the process of enjoying xiii-2 though the setup and the dialogue were not very good. it's better now that i'm in quests and whatnot but the intro had me groaning. the combat system and customizing your monsters is a huge time-sink, and in a good way
  10. well given what i played of ffXII and that xenoblade chronicles is very similar my guess is the incredibly loud contingent of "true FF fans" that hate every FF game released in the past 15 years
  11. i feel like there should be a way to make jungle viktor work what with his shield q and all.
  12. i dunno i feel pretty sorry for that dude who had to make models for ff7. looks a lot more time comsuming to me. and all that animation work on everyone's completely static clothing, pizzafeet, hand-nubs, hair, and facial expressions? man. i just don't see why modern final fantasies would take so much longer when the old games are so technically complex oh wait like give yourself a break from your delusions for a second. from his legs down is literally 50 polygons. 50. if i felt like wasting another 2 minutes i could count them all but if you're not seeing where your guys' question is dumb then that's a shame i guess
  13. yeah a platformer with input lag doesn't sound like my idea of fun
  14. i don't think you know how to read i really don't especially your own writing
  15. or making gazillion polygon characters and an original graphics engine is *only slightly* more technically difficult than making an approximately 300 pixel sprite consisting of 10 colors? like seriously lurk more why say something so stupid
  16. it's not your organization it's your horrible assumption that the idea 'main series' applies to only what you want it to apply to. i'd have probably been more excited for a galaxy style game. but being like 'it's not a main series game' because it's not is dumb. just played nintendo land with non-gamer friends it was a blast
  17. because the distinction you're making is 'these are the main series mario games' which is wrong and dumb instead of saying 'these are the open-world, 3d mario games' which everyone already knows and thus is also a pretty useless distinction to make.
  18. look whatever you want to tell yourself is fine but nobody agrees with you, including but not limited to Nintendo, Wikipedia, major fansites, and reasonable people with brains opinions are fine but acting like your opinion is just how things are when everyone including the game makers themselves don't agree is a really stupid thing to do
  19. i would agree with you if the time limits were actually constraining; the 300-count you get in most mario games is SO much more than enough to see everything in every level that it's hard to really complain against it on the other hand 'time trial challenges' are awesome and don't factor into the level's completion in and of itself so it's really a completely separate challenge. see rayman origins for a really good example of time trials being completely outside the regular scope of the game, and really fun to boot. in short, if standard time limits were constrictive then i'd probably agree with you. but they're really not so i don't think it's worth complaining about
  20. building your system around the ability to play cable through the console is pretty dumb when cable is kind of dying out to netflix, hulu etc
  21. that's false info, the developers were joking about how the green luigi catsuit looked like the frog suit at E3 and everyone there immediately went to OMFG FROG SUIT because journalistic integrity.
