  1. Sorry, hard drive died on me and had to replace it. no word, I AIMed Ramanicience about getting a compo spot, nothing.
  2. I found an issue with linking. On this mix: http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02201/ DJP linked to the source tune, however it isn't there anymore: "Sports Fair - Ball Tos..." The YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated due to multiple third-party notifications of copyright infringement. so I found an alternate link:
  3. Put me down for Wrinkly Kong's theme in the bonus disc. However, I can't get started right now, my computers hard drive is crapping out on me, and I'm currently using Linux booted from an SD card. I WILL get on it though, I have some ideas swirling around in the old noggin already.
  4. I do seem to recall that this album had quite a bit of drama associated with it, so much so that it nearly killed the project. Props to Arek for persevering You give hope to people who want to start their own projects
  5. If someone decided to make a ReMix with just computer hardware, (I.E. see links below), based on whether or not it was good enough, would a mix make it in? (Phantom of the Floppera! Ha!)
  6. Hey, Mindwanderer, sign me up for next round. http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02530/ Not sure what I want to join as though....
  7. Okay then, as soon as I get a ThaSauce compo space (no idea who to contact) I will get right on it. I'll probably make deadlines in-line with the PRC, I.E. they have 2 week deadlines, week one would be MY deadline.
  8. I remember acquiring that game....back then the most advanced graphics up to then was sort of faux 3D with Mode 7 graphics. All that changed with Star Fox. I loved that game... Learned about the SuperFX chip later on, so at first I couldn't figure out how these amazing graphics were done on the SNES. Was a good time for gaming. These days the graphics are sort of laughable as far as 3D goes, but they've more than earned their place in gaming history.
  9. Point taken. Okay, PRC-styled compo it is.
  10. Awesome idea. I think I might just do that. I think I might have Mr. Snake Man himself (jkesnake17) help me with the whole thing too, If he wants to.
  11. I was thinking about how to further make compo ideas and get the community involved, and here's something I came up with. If this gains steam I will make another post with the compo itself, as well as a weird storyline that seems to be all the rage in compos on here.... How would YOU do it? Basic premise: Participants would have to make an original work, BUT....in the exact style of a track from a game. For example, lets take Grasslands of Time from Chrono Cross: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCCsGZAGv0Q You would have to make an original with the exact same "feeling" of this track, I.E. not the same instrumentation, but the same general feeling. Short sources would be even harder, such as the Castlevania intro: (0:00 - 0:06), since you have little to go on as far as an actual "feeling". I will also ask Darkesword if I could have a voting area, like his compos. Not sure of what the timing for this would be...maybe two weeks a song....or perhaps one week as the norm. And I'll probably use a bracket system as well.Anyone interested/
  12. This is something I have been wondering for a while. Whenever there's a post on the main page, and it went through the judges panel, I like to compare the source to the mix sometimes as well. It is easy to find the source or sources that way, since that is part of the submission requirements. But, with DPs, the source used is not readily availiable. Lets take the latest post for example, "Iron Will March" by Torzelan: http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02599/ The song link leads here: http://ocremix.org/song/23521 The source is nowhere to be found. However, if we do the same thing with "The Myth of Darkmoon": http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02598/ You have the same link scheme (http://ocremix.org/song/23471), HOWEVER, if you look in the Judges judging thread, the source is readily available: is there any way to directly link the source in the "Song(s)" link instead of what you are doing currently?
  13. I found this a few days ago, and figured you music people would love to take a look at it. There are some things here I have never seen before, or heard - some of them have sound samples too. My favorites? Bamboo Sax: http://www.oddmusic.com/gallery/om04000.html sounds like a fusion between a saxophone and a clarinet Here's another one: http://www.oddmusic.com/gallery/om06825.html More stuff to use in OCReMix tracks? heh
  14. I ran across the news while perusing Facebook :)
  15. Congrats Stevo and Valerie!!! Yet another couple that got together because of OCR.
  16. I know what you're thinking. "VERSION 7?!?!?" Well, I wanted in on the last two, but my procrastination made it so I didn't get anything done for either. So, I decided to get a jump on next years album, to prevent this from happening again. So here's my in-progress remix of the Zelda Overworld, with a snow-covered sunny day vibe to it. http://tindeck.com/listen/qbjr
  17. Put me in the Maybe section. I'll decide later, this sounds interesting...
  18. Uhhh....mine doesn't have a rainbow. It's green with a backwards lowercase U in it.
  19. I found the torrent file, and I will be one of the ones seeding it.
