Explanation: The code you need to enter is in the same room; you scan a PDA on the floor next to a dead GF Trooper to get it. The message itself is Aurora Unit 313's last transmission before the Space Pirates stole him; watching it gives you a Friend Voucher.

You might as well go ahead and start training against Mr. Game & Watch too, because thanks to the method Sakurai's been using to number franchise icons on the website, he's now about 99% confirmed. God, yes. Though I'd prefer the original's Sector Z to any of the Melee Star Fox stages. For that matter, they should include EVERY stage from the first two games in the third. That'd be an awesome bonus message: "You just unlocked every stage EVER!"

Or have it evolve into Snorlax after eating a Final Smash ball. On that note, I'd hate to be the guy standing next to the Final Smash you were just about to use when Munchlax eats it.

Assuming they're not phase-shifting through the damn things, yeah.

As far as the PED Suit being a gimmick, I'd like to point out that it depends entirely on what difficulty level you're playing. It's a gimmick in Normal alright, but it sees necessary regular usage in Veteran, and in Hypermode? Impossible to beat the game without whoring the hell out of it. And the Metroid convo... I think nostalgia's talking. I don't disagree that Prime Metroids are pretty lame, but as long as you take your time, they're nowhere near as dangerous as people claim in the old games either. About the only game where I honestly got terrified in an incoming Metroid area was the original, mainly due to its limited controls. Taking out Metroids in Super and Zero Mission was a piece of cake.

Clearly I have too much time on my hands, as in two weeks I'm already on my third playthrough (Veteran now; first two were Normal) and will hop right into a fourth when I finish this one. Though the fourth probably wouldn't be by choice if you could get any Gold Credits for beating bosses in Veteran that you hadn't already beaten in Normal, but oh well.

I never named my PC, but I did name my hard drives... after cities from Power Rangers. D is Angel Grove, F is Mariner Bay, and H is Terra Venture. Before you ask, C is the retarded little 2gb partition on the same HDD as F that Windows XP initially made for itself during upgrade. F's my default. =/

No idea about the latter two, but chunk at the Metroid Metal forums mentioned that he pulled down a wall while playing it at the local Gamestop. And hearing that makes me illogically think back to the Haloid video. Like, I'd piss myself if you could grapple a vehicle and toss it over your shoulder or something.

http://rsonic.randomsonicnet.org/ Not coming out right away, but supposedly a playable demo of the new build will finally be released tomorrow.

That's because it's based on the promotional badge that was sold with copies of Mother 3 in Japan, rather than the in-game one from EB. Though technically the badge is a reprint of the one they sold with Mother 1, but still. Possible proof we'll see an M3 character then?

Good news. The panel felt empty without a proper toku fan.

Man do I miss the days where the top lineups included Jamie Bailey, Blaze, Red, and Stealth. SRB2, which normally has a booth, is too "between releases" to have even shown up this time. The only thing I'm majorly looking forward to this year is Retro Sonic. =/ However, the IRC chat with Ryan Drummond was pretty class. I hope he makes a habit of dropping in on occasion in the future.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7296968&postcount=54 http://www.gonintendo.com/?p=22449 The list is fake. Sorry bro. I don't think I'm the only one who would cream my pants over Skies of Arcadia 2 if it were real, but oh well.

Some time ago a random dude made a Final Fantasy fangame in one of the RPG Makers called FF Endless Nova (it's still out and about on the net; you can find it pretty easily with Google). The fangame used midis from various actual games/anime/older music for its soundtrack. I've been trying to figure out the source of all the midis from the game for purposes of a FAQ I wrote for it, but there's three songs I absolutely cannot seem to track down. Figured I'd ask here to see if anyone recognized them. http://arrow.rangerwiki.com/ffen/Ibis%20Theme.mid http://arrow.rangerwiki.com/ffen/Snowy%20Hot%20Spring.mid http://arrow.rangerwiki.com/ffen/Quenlin%20Theme.mid The filenames are for their locations in the fangame and unrelated to their source. Also, before anyone asks, the guy who made it hasn't touched the game or its community in five years, so asking him personally isn't really feasible right now. EDIT: Found the first two. The first is pt. 3 of "Circus Troupe of Mysterious People" (Amazoness Quartet theme) from Sailor Moon SuperS. Second is "It's Not Your Fault", one of Sailor Jupiter's two themes from SM season 1. Still no idea on the third, though.

OC ReMix @ Otakon: Site Staff Presents Panel on Video Game Music ReMixing
Arrow replied to djpretzel's topic in Announcements
For those who wanted to know, the stuff Eminence played came from the following sources: Laputa: Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Romeo x Juliet, Neon Genesis Evangelion, .hack//Liminality, Gundam Seed, Noir, Lia - Colors of Life, Odin Sphere, Xenosaga I and II, Chrono Cross, and Super Mario World. I forget most of the individual track names, but for the Xenosagas they played Pain and Sakura, Odin Sphere had the main theme done, Chrono Cross got Time's Scar and Radical Dreamers, and SMW was a large medley (started with SMB1's Overworld, then all SMW tracks: Overworld, Sub Castle, Athletic, Time Up Warning, double speed Athletic, and finished with Course Clear). One of the best parts, however, was when Hiroaki Yura explained how Yasunori Mitsuda got his job at Squaresoft. Apparently Mitsuda walked into the building, while Uematsu was sitting at a desk doing interviews with a secretary nearby. Uematsu first asked Mitsuda his background and all that, and then inquired as to if he'd ever heard of Final Fantasy. Mitsuda said that he actually preferred Dragon Quest. After taking a few seconds to get over the inherent WTF-ness, Uematsu also asked him how he considered a potential job at Squaresoft. Mitsuda said that he just considered it a stepping stone. So apparently if you want a job in the video game music industry, you just need to be a schmuck, and you'll get hired. Also! Hitoshi Sakimoto likes yaoi. -
I'm hoping we'll at least see Soundwave and Arcee. I think Arcee will probably be more likely than anyone else, because they've already placed her in the continuity as far as where she is, which they hadn't done with many Transformers outside the ones that appeared in the movie. What annoys me is that she was GOING to be in the movie, but they didn't have time to explain the whole "female Transformer" deal. And apparently fans complained about having her in it as well, which is lame.

MEETUP: OCR @ Otakon 2007! - Panel was awesome!

Car borrowing is confirmed, so I'll be there without a doubt now. Drove to the Convention Center this morning just so I'd know how to get there and back with no issues. However, now that I've been out there, I have no idea where the hell I'm going to park come Friday. -
The Corneria music in Melee was a three song medley, all from SF SNES. Venom, then a short portion the game's general theme, followed by the ending section of Space Armada. Ralphis is telling the truth, partially. No, they're talking about Corneria's theme in the original game.

I'm moderately wondering about this myself. I mean, with Melee, we didn't find out the full roster until a month after the game's release. I doubt Sakurai will post the entire roster before release. Maybe half.

I might have a car in tow when I come. Not sure on that yet. However, if I do, I could only guarantee its usage for things like lunch and not-12am dinners, as I'll be commuting from home instead of staying at a hotel, and thus don't desire to be out super late. Of course, if everyone's gonna get lunch at the harbor, cars are probably unnecessary for lunch anyways. -
Just so you know, Smash Bros. was confirmed to be online in some aspect or another back in 05. People are expressing doubt over that now (understandably, I suppose), but still.
