  1. Yeah, don't play to "win", but to improve yourself, and that's something that one can never fail at. Despite however good I get, that's the only reason I've joined so many competitions over the years, and I've gained quite a bit of experience from it.
  2. Oh yeah, so it is. Ha, well I suppose I can make a mistake from time to time. Alright... erm, then yeah, you and your friend were right. Now I feel kind of foolish, lol.
  3. You are up against me, with Sky Sanctuary zone from S&K. Best of luck.
  4. Oh crap, this is right around the corner, isn't it? Shit, probably shouldn't have started a FF6 track now. Fuck it, I can do both - BRING IT ON, YOU PANCAKES!
  5. To the man with the strangest spelled name ever, I wish you a happy birthday! *chuckle* Benjamin Briggs...
  6. Well, Zircon didn't make any rules saying you couldn't. You should definitely get that FF9 track finished too, though - I mean, there are very few sources better than the Dark Messenger to remix, even among this list of sources from FF6.
  7. Not sure how much this helps, but the song is created around the Octatonic scale. If you use that source, it might help to keep that in mind.
  8. Haha, it sounds a little like Battletoads, with the chiptune timbres you used in the beginning. Love the funk that this produces, here. 1:26 - 1:43 sounds very... strange; it doesn't fit either the source or what you've put into your remix. You'll likely need to tweak that part considerably to make it work, or even scrap it and put something else in there. The main synth used is a little bit thin, and overall the track is pretty hollow. I'd love to hear that soundscape filled with maybe one or two more textures (probably not a pad, though, with the style you've got going here). I like it. Keep it up.
  9. Well, right now it only has two participants involved - most of the hype has waned considerably. Most of the compos do this, toward the end, with the exception of the Wily compo (since that had the full participation of every member every round, everyone remained interested in it throughout). Admittedly, though, the whole Sonic craze is soaking up most of the attention right now, though.
  10. Nah - I'm sure Darkesword will get to this within a day. Patience is a virtue, after all.
  11. Yup, and it was awesome. It was my desktop for the longest time.
  12. I would most certainly approve of that.
  13. Haha, I noticed your message on DjP's visitor's board. Not sure if he answered it for you or not, but the short of it is that this isn't a site where you upload music. You submit the music in question and a panel of judges do a quality control evaluation of the track (which is very stringent, by the way). If the song passes the examination, then it goes on a waiting list for music to be posted on the front page.

It's a pretty long process, but it's for the sake of quality control - hopefully it's for the best. If you want evaluation before submitting, though (saves time, as getting to the panel takes months, in itself) you can post your remix to the WIP boards where people like myself will let you know what the judges will say about it.

    Best of luck.

  14. Heard PsyNES' track - you guys are off to a good start, for sure.
  15. Alright, thanks - that's what I needed, there.
  16. To what address? To my understanding, the submit button is supposed to open up an e-mail that you send, but it's not opening for me, at all, here.
  17. Ah, my childhood. For those that didn't have a childhood, though, you should .Really, it sounds like you have a lot of fun with this track. Among the funktastic rhythms, the stuttering, and voice clips from Shredder, this is a really enjoyable listen. I don't much I can add to this; nice work on it.
  18. ... is anyone else having issues submitting their music to the SF contest? I'm not getting any sort of confirmation that my submissions are getting through. Any idea of how to get around this?
  19. It's a relatively minor offense, since this guy doesn't get much traffic and he's not been online for years, but 's someone taking Zircon & Tyler's "When All Hope has Faded" track. If that bugs you, Zircon, you can go ahead and send a notice out against him. There's not much else one can do with it, though, seeing as the uploader looks to have moved on, so it's not like he can just edit it or anything.
  20. You mean other than a complete lack of inspiration and ability to finish said track. It's not always about the time it could take, but also about the ability to complete said action that could get in the way of finishing, as well, you know.
  21. Dude, its your birthday. Happy birthday mah man.

  22. Well, be ready to scratch me off the list. I'mma renderin' it and getting ready to send ya the finished product, as I type this. After I get whatever input you may have I'll either make quick changes or, if all is well, send you the WAV with my blessings .
  23. Pit runs were pretty fun, too, for the hardcore player that didn't have the gear to insure survival for the Baal runs.
  24. To his credit, Nobuo Uematsu did mention that ELP was one of his biggest inspirations (not sure where, might've been in the Advent Children extras or something, in an interview). It's very likely that he was influenced by them.
  25. Well, SuperiorX, you could ask any of us pancakes if one of us would be willing to trade spots with Rexy. I'm afraid that I can't, myself, now that I've scheduled around this time, but perhaps one of us with a bit of a more flexible schedule could transform into a reptile for her sake so she has an extra week to figure out her computer issues.
