  1. OHMYGODFUCKINGAMAZING10CHAR
  2. I read the OP and thought 'How the hell could I have told him about it?', then felt stupid when I ready Sole Signal's real name, lol. Good luck out there in the wild, wild world of marriage. Musical babies are awesome, so don't forget to have some.
  3. Here it is. I remember this gem from ages ago. Still funny, though. The battle song is new to me, though, and it's... kinda awesome, in a guilt-inducing sort of way.
  4. That's pretty awesome. A great homage to Secret of Mana, with a heavy lean towards 'Where Angels fear to Tread'. Thanks for postin' it .
  5. Music theory isn't what you need, take it from me. Practice and experimentation is what's required. The sonic tracks that you want to have remixed might be a perfect opportunity for you to bite into the remixing field. On a side note, while I haven't played the game I have heard some of the music, which is indeed awesome. It does need some OCR love, pretty quick.
  6. Oh hell yeah.
  7. So do I send one in or do you have something pre-planned?
  8. A good friend of mine is a composer/programmer, and it seems that the two cross over nicely. Music is a construct that encourages organized thought (which is great for programming), while the programming language is great for improving syntax in music (syntax is handy, when it comes to music). He's gone as far as to make a program that fills in context-sensitive music when you provide a couple of numbers to generate it from (not sure if he finished it, but he was working on it 3+ years ago)... not sure if you'll do THAT, but hey - you never know. Yeah, it's possible for you to accomplish those two things at the same time, don't worry.
  9. lol, wow, sometimes the system works.
  10. It's like what you want for an acid trip. Awesome. Also, the vid had 69 views when I watched it. Sexy.
  11. Aw shit. Another classic actor bites the dust. I really liked his style of comedy, so it's a real shame to see him go. Then again, at his age it isn't too surprising, either. RIP, Neilsen.
  12. Much like many others, I'd love to, but the quick turnaround thing will kill me - I'm not going to be able to do much when it comes to remixing over December except finishing some MMX project things, so I just don't see myself having the time for this. Good luck getting people for this .
  13. If/when the preview is out I'mma hopin' my track is on it .
  14. I'd go in and ream him/her for ripping off Kate, but her fans have done this so well I can't possibly compete. Glad Kate has such a passionate fan base .
  15. Meh, this REALLY isn't a big deal, guys. Let's simply move on and not worry about it too much. If it got accepted on OCR and was waiting to be posted then I'd start to question the ethics behind it, but until then no harm, no foul. Know that this isn't going to pass the panels though, ncocs, because of it's static quality (which comes from the original midi, by the way), so you can pretty much forget about submitting this unless you plan on heavily reworking the source file (in which case it'll pretty much be your own, so people will stop buggin' you about who's midi it originally was, anyway). It is a nice way to practice applying instruments and working with soundscapes, though, and I think you did a pretty good job, there.
  16. I know that, don't worry. As the OP states... It's just something you good ol' WIP checkers might enjoy.
  17. Well, when it comes time for the mods to evaluate the track if it goes into the system as it is it'll be rejected for being very stale, for sure, so I don't think it'll get anywhere on the site. If the original mixer still uses his e-mail you could contact him about it, but good luck with that. I don't see any policy on VGmusic.com that states that the person CANNOT use the midis in such a manner (unlike OCR), so I don't think he's legally bound to give credit to anybody. However, letting the original arranger know that he's using the track as such is certainly the right thing to do.
  18. Looking at the track, there's a chance that I might go back and give it a quick refurbishing. I got a new pack of neat orchestral vst's, so it'd be a great way to learn how to use them properly . Glad you liked it, too.
  19. Good article. The real joy of it, though, were the responses. Why were you gettin' all defensive, LT? Is it because you know that OCR is all about drum loops, so you want to cover it up with a bunch of words, hoping people won't catch onto the truth? WHAT CHICANERY!
  20. Oh God, please send more Contra music our way - the people of OCR do NOT have enough of this amazing soundtrack! The jazz interpretation is quite impressive. For some reason, I never thought of it in that way, but it works very well for the track. The organ is really in the background, but I guess it would dominate too much if it were brought out too much. Sweet, sweet arrangement.
  21. Happy birthday, you slut!

I'd make a thread, but it'd certainly come out something like 'Hey, it's Slut's birthday!' or something, which would earn me too many strange stares and such. Saying it's 'Curly Brace's birthday' just doesn't roll of the tongue as well, I'm afraid, so that wouldn't work, either, and no one really refers to anyone by their real name so calling you 'Terri' is out of the question, too.

Alas, such a dilemma. Ah well, happy birthday :P

  22. DS has a posted track of the Greek Temple, if you haven't heard it yet. Highly recommended, for sure, if you haven't already heard it before.
  23. Looks great, watching the video - I'll try it out in a bit. At roughly 6:37, though, all I could think was that we created a goddamn album based on that one song, so why couldn't he use any of it?! Gaaah!
  24. Oh hell yeah. It did have it's good points, like the music .
