  1. I'm not someone who can listen to a bunch of glitch songs but I definitely appreciate them just because they do have a really cool sound to them if done right.....unfortunately, I don't think I have what it takes to make a good glitch song, I always make mine too ambient =P Anywho, I like what you got thus far man, definitely build onto that and just swell it up into something epic!
  2. Sounds good man, I definitely appreciate some rockin guitar work......especially since my lazy ass hasn't touched my guitar in a while =/ Sounds pretty good, a touch on the muddy side I think, but I know it's a work in progress so there's more mixing and whatnot to be done. Personally, I would like to hear just a TAD of room on those drums....nothing overbearing, just a very little amount to bring a little life into them....especially the snare which just kind of strikes me as "thump.....thump..thump...." everytime I hear it come in. Other than that man, sounds good, keep on rockin in the free world, play free bird maaaaaaan.........sorry had to. =P
  3. Only listened to 2 of them, Arigato and Guided Love. Arigato - Not too bad, I'm not a huge fan of the complete bang in your face 4 on the floor trance style, but overall it's a pretty good song. One thing that seems to get to me though is this set of 3 notes that you have going through what seems to be a huge chunk of the song, mainly at the beginning that sticks out a lot and just stands out too much for me. Guided Love - Honestly, I don't think this would qualify as a "ground breaking new genre" because it doesn't sound like something that isn't already out there, Plus there's stuff like "trip-hop" and I'm sure there's someone who's already called themselves "trance-hop" or something like that.. With that being said though, I'm in no way saying the song doesn't sound good because it does. The kick drum is a little too much in my face in the beginning it seems like, but it's got a nice groove and I could potentially hear something like that playing during ending credits to an RPG like game or something Nice work overall though
  4. Indeed, a good start to a classicly awesome song. I gotta say, it sounds like you need to watch your levels and see how much you're hitting your master fader. I've checked on my main speakers and my headphones, made sure all levels going through my mixer was fine, checked other songs to make sure it wasn't my hardware, but I hear massive distorting going on in your mix currently when pianos get heavy at :20-:21 and :28-:29 to name a couple.
  5. Very cool song man. I really liked the nostalgic nintendo sounds rolling through the piece, especially with the variation they went through everytime they came in. I like the thumping beat that stays driving and keeps me interested all the way through. Good job
  6. "I also think you can make some of the hooks longer (the sections before the vocal comes in)." Yeah, I'm kind of an 8 bar whore. I honestly don't know how I'd lengthen that section before the vocals because it doesn't really seem like a hook as much as it is a lull after the first "chorus" or whatever to then build up for the vocals to enter. As for the snare, yeah, it's a weird snare....it's almost like a clap and snare mixed together or some shit lol. I think the drums just may be a tad bit low in volume in the first place, perhaps raising them a tad would allow that snare to come through better which at times seems like it was hurting my ear. Focusing on it more now though I can totally tell where you're coming from. Also, after listening after that drum roll, I agree that it could probably benefit from adding some other....something in there with some more "oomph" to back up that current little bit. Thanks for the suggestions/comment man!
  7. I use choir vox in a lot of my songs actually so it wouldn't be that far fetched for me to put it in this one too =P I think I might try to avoid it simply because I do use choir quite a bit. but yeah, pretty much at the 1:43 mark is where it just dies down currently cause I'm not entirely sure where to take it. Let me know if you ever want to do some collabs man. When I first moved out to Seattle I was a complete metalhead and I've kind of deviated away from it once I started learning MIDI and really enjoying it and composing music as of a couple years ago. I used to just sit at home jamming on my Dean ML and peavy half stack but I haven't done that in quite a while. Maybe a electronic-metal duo is in order? =D
  8. Like someone else said in this area... ......anyone? 30 or so views and not a single person can say anything at all?
  9. "...anyone?" I feel it man, I was about to go post the same thing in my thread which has 0 replies =/ Anywho, not bad man. Got that lo-fi garageband sound goin on it currently, which hell, if you live in Seattle, apparently the cool thing is to spend as much money as possible to get the worst sounding recording possible to call it "Indie" lol From the :40 second mark to the end of the song it sounds like constant crash cymbal, me thinks just a tad bit too much on that just because you hear that high end shimmering blanket over the whole thing for quite a while. Also, I wouldn't worry about not being able to play it all the way through. If working in a professional studio has taught me anything it's that Punch-ins are part of where the magic happens. I saw some amazing performers go through the studio and I don't think I ever saw one play it completely right. Even a quartet of the seattle symphony did their pieces in chunks and put it together later. Keep on rockin man
  10. This is a song I started a while back, kind of forgot about, and am wanting to dig back out. I have a pretty good idea of where I'm going on this but then after the 1:45 mark I'm not so sure. For the sake of ending it I half-tempo'd it and faded it out, but I don't really intend on halving the tempo, it's basically at that part where I'm not really sure where I'm headed. Just wanted to get some other people to take a listen and let me know what they think, so please do! http://www.tindeck.com/listen/lsfc Thanks in advance
  11. Sounds good man. Again I'd probably say to just watch the timing of those guitars and clean up some of the palm muting in Death's Armada. Also, do you have a guitar amp and microphone that you could record your amp? It sounds like you're either just plugging your guitar straight into whatever you record with and adding distortion via software, or you've got your guitar going into a distortion pedal and then straight from the pedal to your rig. Has that very dry DI'd sound for sure, suppose I could be wrong however. Agency sounds like it might fit in this one Anime I watched some time ago called "Black heaven" which has some pretty good music in it you might want to check out. Some of it might be right up your alley, maybe give you some inspiration or somethin Also, in regards to the drums, might I suggest looking up "Addictive Drums" by XLN Audio, they are some of the most realistic drum samples I've ever come across. It's a VST plug-in, velocity control, room tone, mic placement, everything like that to acquire a pretty dang good drum sound. Here's a shitty little recording I made in about 10-15 mins using said drum program and obviously they have more at their website: http://www.tindeck.com/listen/pltq (Yeah, your guitar playing is better than mine for sure =P I made this quickly for a friend to show him the drums so he could benefit since he likes to write a bunch of metal music as well, so yeah, this song is not meant to be anything at all worth listening to =D )
  12. Your link doesn't work, it should be this: http://ben.nijumi.de/Father%20and%20Son%20-%20Techno.mp3 Anywho, doesn't sound too bad. It is short like you said and beyond that, once the whole thing starts after the countdown in the beginning, it pretty much doesn't ever deviate from what you hear in the first 10 seconds. Do you have a link to the original song as I've never heard it so I cant really compare the two. Definitely sounds all techno/tranced out with a 4 on the floor beat and repeating trance lead. I could hear something like that be on the starting screen of a DbZ game or somethin though =P
  13. I like the sound of this one. Nice jam going on the whole time and I could definitely imagine it being some background music for a game. When that trance lead comes in at :48 seconds it seems just a tad bit loud to me at first, but not by much. By the 1:05 mark it doesn't jump out at me as much and blends together however, perhaps my ears just getting used to it in the mix by that point. Also, I'm definitely a fan of the muting stuttering effect, I do it a lot in my songs and I like your use of it in this song.
  14. I like it man, sounds pretty darn good. Nice jamming guitars sounding solid with a strong kick behind it, I dig it. As for the high end, I'd want to hear a better quality version. If this was a 125kbit mp3 file, those always sound horrid and tinny up in the high range so it seems like it wouldn't be as accurate to judge by. That's just me though
  15. I dig it man, sounds good. Very atmospheric for sure. You ever mess with bringing the same beats back in at half tempo or anything like that? It's always just something I like to do and like the sound of but I will take a pretty trancy song with a fast beat and just halve the beat for a breakdown, buuuuuuut I really like it when that happens in metal too so maybe that's why I do it in all my electronic stuff as well =P
  16. Sounds good man, I'm definitely an appreciate of rock and metal so it's cool to hear your project on this. Sound quality sounds pretty good and it's a pretty jammin song. There's only a little bit at the beginning and at the :40 second mark when the song comes back from it's breakdown that it sounds a little mistimed. There's times when it almost feels like the main guitars that are chugging through the song sound like they are dragging just barely, like the palm muting is slowing it down just a tad or something. Don't know, could just be me. Other than that, pretty good song man
  17. Thanks for the reply! I shoulda practiced more on the piano like mom told me to all those years ago =P I probably couldn't bust out into any really emaculate solo that I could actually play myself, but I suppose I could still write it in Also, thanks for the tip in regards to the hosting website.
  18. Hmmm, perhaps just this one then =P http://www.fileupyours.com/view/238539/DJ%20Bubble%20Face_Jesses%20Reich.mp3 Also, I looked at the WIP hosting sticky, if anyone has any better suggestions I'm totally open to it. Thanks in advance!
  19. Hi all, I've been a part of this website for a while now but I've never made a post until now! Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember but it's only been in the last couple of years that I've really tried to create my own music seriously opposed to just jamming out a few things on guitar or something. Anywho, I just wanted to come onto the scene and have people check out a few of my songs. I'm currently trying to work on a song for Zelda: Majoras mask and hopefully I'm good enough to even have a chance of being accepted on here! http://www.myspace.com/bubblefacebastardband Please let me know what you think, and I realize I'll probably get some brutally honest truths but....so it goes =D
