You're doing a speedless shirtrun of MM8 with Ben? Awesome.

btw nice call on Jersey Devil there, great game. Dark Cloud was good too (though I prefer Dark Cloud 2, or Dark Chronicle as it was also known, more). And I loved Chu Chu Rocket on GBA. Had loads of fun making my own stages and custom sprites.

Always loved the Boktai series myself. Great game, fun soundtrack, innovative gameplay hook using a solar sensor to translate actual sunlight into a way to recharge your in-game energy...

The Frog For Whom The Bell Tolls - Link's Awakening's Predecessor
Mirby replied to DarkeSword's topic in General Discussion
Isn't the main character of this an Assist Trophy in Smash 4? Or is that another character? -
I think the issue is because it's Lightning and people have been making cases that SE's trying to milk her for money ever since she was created and claim this little thing is another attempt at a moneygrab for them.

And sometimes others try to break the cycle anyways. I think one of the greatest offenders is Richter, though that was more Shaft who couldn't get over the fact he got shafted 5 years before and wanted a mulligan (pun intended there). I'm quite hype for this myself. BADHYPE!!!

That quote is a tweet that originated on Twitter. Here's the original tweet (also we have Twitter embedding? since when?) This hit me quite hard, so I'd like to share a picture by Yoshitaka Amano (longtime Final Fantasy character artist and logo artist) that is the most David Bowie picture to ever David Bowie.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Spoilers Inside!)
Mirby replied to DarkeSword's topic in General Discussion
That's, uhh, not a fan theory. I mean part of it is but the bullet points are, in fact, canon. We're not sure if it was, in fact, Slip who died on Jakku and smeared his blood on Finn's helmet. And we're not sure if it is, in fact, Zero or Nines who calls him TRAITOR outside the ruins of Maz's castle. Those two things aren't canon because they weren't clarified. But the parts from the book? 100% Grade A official canon. -
Freedom Planet (It's Better than Undertale!)
Mirby replied to Garpocalypse's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, but putting that in the topic is a bit clickbaity and screams of desperation and, honestly, can turn people off of wanting to play the game which is obviously not what you wanted, Gar. -
Freedom Planet (It's Better than Undertale!)
Mirby replied to Garpocalypse's topic in General Discussion
Or we could actually talk about the game and its sequel (even though we know virtually nothing about the sequel other than that it's coming) and Gar could remove that hyperbolic opinion he added to the topic title. That works too lol. -
Freedom Planet (It's Better than Undertale!)

But Freedom Planet has its own flaws as well. No game is perfect. -
Freedom Planet (It's Better than Undertale!)
Mirby replied to Garpocalypse's topic in General Discussion
Different genres completely, it's not a fair comparison. I mean yeah it's a good game, but saying it's better than Undertale is completely subjective and based on your opinion. Therefore it shouldn't be presented as fact like it is in the topic title. Also you totally didn't mention a sequel was announced, and it coming to PC first followed by Nintendo stuff later and maybe others. I'd post the trailer but I'm too lazy to grab the link and it just reveals the basic storyline, no gameplay is shown at all. -
Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Spoilers Inside!)
Mirby replied to DarkeSword's topic in General Discussion
I dunno, I'd imagine she might use it a bit too freely whenever she argued with Han. "Look, Leia, Chewie and me just need some time away okay?" "You're not going anywhere." "We're not going anywhere." -
Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Spoilers Inside!)
Mirby replied to DarkeSword's topic in General Discussion
To me it sounded like when Finn said he was in sanitation, it more meant janitor. As in, he cleaned up the place and didn't see battle until Jakku. Sure, the First Order may not have tried to hide their brutality, but it seems like until his first visit to Jakku Finn was either cooped up being brainwashed for a life of being a Stormtrooper or cleaning up Starkiller Base while it was being built. -
Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Spoilers Inside!)
Mirby replied to DarkeSword's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, the Stormtroopers were certainly more capable this time around. Which was nice. I mean how did the Empire have such a hold when their troops couldn't hit the broad side of a barn? At least these guys know what they're doing. Also, that Riot Control Trooper was a great design in general. -
Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Spoilers Inside!)

I also wanted to mention how much I enjoyed how cocky Poe Dameron was regarding his piloting skill, and that it wasn't just mindless boasting. He was able to back it up. And we should've known Finn wasn't cut out to be a Stormtrooper. I mean he can actually hit things when he shoots! -
Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Spoilers Inside!)
Mirby replied to DarkeSword's topic in General Discussion
Saw this tonight. Rather enjoyed it. Wasn't much I disliked. Main gripe was that, outside of Jakku, I have no idea what the names of the other planets they went to were called lol. There were some great gags though, like the two Stormtroopers backing off and turning around once they realize Kylo is throwing yet another temper tantrum when he realized Rey escaped. They were like "nope we're not going near that." Also, as Darke said, Han realizing the greatness of Chewie's Bowcaster. Had no idea C-3PO was showing up, and I'm incredibly curious as to where his actual arm is and where the red replacement came from haha. BB-8 was adorable, especially when he was meticulously going down the stairs. Also nice to see there's more than one cantina in the entire galaxy, since the older movies seemed to act like Mos Eisley was the only one since they never showed any others (to my memory). Also variety in biomes was nice. Original movies had just ICE PLANET and FOREST MOON and DESERT PLANET. I mean there was some variety but it seemed like the whole planet was one biome, whereas here we had a snowy forest, which was refreshing. Also they certainly went large, having them blow up an entire planet. The symbolism during that climax was rampant though. From the sun going out just before Han was killed by Ben Kylo to the ground separating leaving Kylo and Rey on very different sides, it was very well done. Rey taking that huge walk just to find Luke who stared at her for a minute or so before CREDITS was a bit weird, but it was nice. That also gave me an image of Luke riding on her back training her like Yoda did to him, which seemed rather hilarious to me. Sure that won't happen BUT IF IT DID... Also, did Captain Phasma die? Last we saw, they were gonna throw her in a trash compacter, but we didn't see if they actually did nor if she escaped before the planet went boom. And did they recover Kylo's body before the planet went kaput as Snoke ordered them or was he killed too? They left the fates a few villains rather unexplained, but I'm sure we'll get our answers in Episode VIII. All in all, I rather enjoyed it. Would watch again. -
Yeah Mega Man Powered Up! had a custom stage creator. It was fun, and you could play as any of the first game's bosses (plus Time Man and Oil Man, who were added to Powered Up! to make it 8 bosses). Of course you had to beat them with buster-only to unlock them as playable. And the level packs were found in various hard-to-reach places in the game's stage, often requiring you to play as a boss character for their enhanced usage of their abilities. It was quite fun. And apparently the server is still up (last I heard) where you share your stages.
