  1. Hey I've been working on this a lot more - I need help knowing what to do to make this "listenable" I don't know the necessary steps in finishing and touching up a remix in it's final process. This is where I need help.
  2. So far in my time spent on OCRemix, I haven't met too many Hardcore Techno fans and I must admit that I am one. What got me hooked was the Crush on Hardcore 3 series which was released FREE and soon COH4 will be released for FREE. This isn't Gabber. This isn't Cheesy Happy Hardcore. This is energetic, Breakbeat, Happy (ok sometimes cheesy) Hardcore. I hope to persuade any other techno fans, whether it be Electronica or Trance etc. to listen...just give a chance to this awesome genre. It has only been a year since I started to enjoy this kind of music, and it has not only made me more interested in music as a career...but it my enjoyment has made me discover new kinds of music like Trance 8-O8-O8-O which I now love. So check out some Crush on Hardcore 3 if you can, and if you feel up to it get COH4 when it comes out on June 22! http://www.crushonhardcore.com
  3. It wasn't a problem with remote control and the edit events (tempo) still didn't work...I found out something else though, the tempo changes when the Pattern that I used the midi in is playing...and if I delete the pattern then the tempo does not change.
  4. Thanks for the help, but I must be doing something wrong. So I go into my project and right click the tempo, choose edit events. I then use the paint brush tool to highlight the beginning of measure 9 in the edit events window (the tempo changes at the beginning of 9) and then click the delete button and highlight the already highlighted area... I'm not doing something right...
  5. I imported a midi into an FL project, and ever since whenever I come to a part of the song that I used the midi notes for, the tempo changes from 135bpm to 90bpm. 90bpm is the tempo of the midi file, but how do I tell FL to ignore that.... This has happened all the time, but it usually seems to go away after I correct it a couple times...I'm losing it...
  6. Awesome progression, very nice ReMix! It puts me on an empty highway going really fast...maybe there is something I am recognizing from Toad's Turnpike? Very good sounds though, makes me comfortable
  7. I agree that they sound very similar, and although I can't exactly get the sound I'm looking for I am having a lot of fun with the pulse oscs and pwm. So thanks both of you!
  8. I got much closer with Superwave P8...but it's also once frozen FL and some aspects of it are crazy bad (but I guess I should expect that with a free plugin)
  9. Hey, I'm looking for some feedback before I submit. It is a remix of Crystal Caves from Donkey Kong 64. I was going for a trance style, but I am limited in my abilities to do a lot of that fancy trance stoof Update: Source: - Thanks XZero
  10. So I'm trying to create a similar synth as in this song: Comes in at :56, fully introduces itself at 2:21 and is abused for the rest of the song... As far as I can tell it's multiple saw's in unison w/pretty low attack. I just can't seem to get it right - for instance I suck at hearing detunage and # of waves in unison. Also, I've been failing to create it in Synth1 so if anyone has another way (or a way to create in sytnh1) that is what I'm lookin for. Thanks!
  11. This is such a WIP...but I'm tryin to take this one seriously goin for more of a trancey theme than hardcore but I have a lot more original to work with Here is your original http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4Y9YJp014o&feature=PlayList&p=6E3BBDBFCB9BAD2A&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=32
  12. I hate to bring up old threads but.... Donkey Kong - Crystal Caves...WHY DIDN'T ANYONE MENTION THIS!!!!!! I got so excited when I was playin it on the keys and found out this as part of the progression - then it goes to Ab Maj which is so beautiful b/c it's like Fmin7 without the F and holy shit music is too good.
  13. I downloaded a giant midi pack a while ago and discovered it hidden in some of my music stuff... try http://gspbeetle.googlepages.com/ or just google 'runescape midi pack'
  14. Yeah so I played it a while back, and I was reminded of the music when I discovered I had a giant folder of RS midis... Anyway, I made this for my cousin basically to say 'looka what I did!' Anyone recognize/remember this? I dont have the original sorry
  15. Bach - Toccata and Fugue in Dminor performed by E. Biggs. It's a break from all of the Hardcore Techno (Bonkers 17!!!)
  16. Dark side of Hyrule is jammin! Thx for the 3xOsc tip, but Synth1 is initially much easier to use (at least for me right now).
  17. Yes! This should keep me busy for all of Spring Break! Thanks very much Zephyr~!
  18. The 0 sustain and release and low attack and decay is exactly what I'm looking for for the initial lead synth! But as the lead gets more unfiltered, it sounds like the decay and release are getting looser. So how would I make a decay or release automation clip with Synth1 or can I not?
  19. Ok so I got too excited when I heard this song, and after playing with synth1 (which is my new favorite thing ever) I still am seeking an answer to a question... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a19Kw_NltSI :24 - 1:10 So how does the synth sound so "clean" from :24-:36 ? I can tell it is under a lowpass filter which is slowly as it gets to the unfiltered synth at 1:10. My question is, how do I get a saw synth to sound that clean - when I run it under a lowpass filter (using Fruity Free Filter) it sounds more like I am underwater than I am cutting off high frequencies. As I play around with Attack and Release I can tell I am getting closer to the sound, and as I am typing I am still messing around and getting closer so maybe I just need to keep trying stuff out? Any hints or shortcuts?
  20. Yeah, I just noticed after you pointed that out - my Cmaj to Gmin is for the song that I have...not the youtube vid Now everyone thinks I'm tone deaf Yeah it sounds much better with the ii first three chords, but if you play the major IV over the ii (so like C# E G# then I think that is the right feeling. I also definetely hear that D#....so maybe it is C# E G# B D# : whoah
  21. After I finally saw Slumdog Millionaire in the movie theater, the song Jai Ho stuck in my head for quite some time after (I had heard it before, but was re-enlightened thanks to the movie). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjN_q8feoa4 :48 - 1:03 is the progression that made this song stick with me. After fidgeting around I labeled it as (what I think to be) a I - v - IV - V progression. That Gminor chord in the middle of the C major progression really puts a cool Belizian breeze down my spine. Anyone know any other songs that have a similar feeling?
  22. Thanks for making this video, it is very informative and helpful!
