  1. Cool man, kind words. I am grateful :)

  2. I love the percussion here too, around 1:30. Those samples...where do you find them? Or did you make them? Is that what is considered "industrial" sound? Really cool remix
  3. Thought some people who liked my Glitch Hop DK - Banananaz remix might like this: https://soundcloud.com/chiwalker-1/zomboy-feat-lady-chann-here-to Voting is open, and would like to hear what you think!
  4. every song from dkland should be remixed...and I love the acidity
  5. Thx for the message, this seems cool. I would love to stab at the Troff 'n' Scoff theme, always had a special thing for it. Here is a track (remix of a level from DK LAND!) for reference: https://soundcloud.com/chiwalker-1/banananaz I think (?) it'll be posted soon as it's in the 'to be posted' section of the judges decisions.
  6. Hey Kanohi,

wondering if you would let me show you an example of what I was talking about in my post on your thread. However, this may only be possible if you use FL studio. Do you? If so, I would be interested in taking your bassline and showing you the potential I see :)

    Good luck!

    - Luke

  7. I think you have a very good idea and arrangement here Kanohi. During the drop the bass sound is pretty good, but just looking at that I think it has the potential to be much bigger. For instance, some band EQing, notching, and stereo separating FX are used by many solid producers to increase the size of the bass sound and make it sound more varied (the good news for you is now you just have to play with these FX as inserts and automate to your taste) From the more airy intro to the aforementioned bass section, you NEED a better transition. This kind of music (that I think you are going for) is all about transferal of that melodic airy potential and building it up to the heavy bass section, kind of a yin-yang between airy/heavy and melodic/single notes, but I think you understand it so just make it a smoother transition! I can hear the potential in this!
  8. love the production and quality (and source)! The change around 2:00 was smooth and sexy - bringing in those keys. This is beautiful and I would think is a sure winner.
  9. great explanation, thanks!! Love the toad break in your song too haha
  10. Anyone know a sample pack / kit to get similar sounds to these 4 build up type of samples found in hardcore songs. Obviously I can attempt to recreate them, but if anyone knew of a big pack that's what I'm looking for. ** In particular, the third hit from the second 'thing' I've heard in multiple tracks (sounds like a cartoon car putting on its brakes or something) is a sound I really dig. first 'thing' is from Zhangar speedwave (builder remix) second 'thing' is from Kill the Noise - Mosh it up
  11. HI My work for the past few weeks or so has been towards electronic music production competitions. Image-line posted one where the reward is FL studio or virtual cash for their store + Veela soundpacks + some NI software. Also, as some of you may know the most recent Beatport Play competition is hosted by Skrillex and Damian Marley to remix their track. I was wondering if anyone else had ever participated in / submitted for competitions like these and what suggestions / experiences you would share with me. These upcoming ones will be my first.
  12. It is pretty common nowadays...not sure how 'new' the function is but with the whole dubstep explosion most higher end synths will have the option. To find out, you just have to trial or demo and play with it. But you can def. make it work with Synth1 with a little more time required. I loved that synth dearly for a year or so but I've moved on
  13. Although most offer the option to sync to the host tempo, some synths' LFOs don't start with the same phase each time a note is hit. For example, Synth1 does not sync phase whereas Massive offers a 'restart' binary option meaning the LFO will start with the same phase each time a new note is played. To fix this if you have this phase problem, your best option is to export the wobble synth part soloed, until you get it with the right phase (or export more than you need and cut the audio) However, investing in a more versatile synthesizer is a good option as well.
  14. yes...yes...yes.yes.y-y-y-YES! This is fire - and I think it has the potential to drop hard. Love all the little teeny percussion/glitch hits it really makes this track!
  15. Turn that synth up! it's a pretty conservative generic sound but it's nice how you add the pitch lfo'ing in there Love this song, good source and maybe there isn't enough sound or instruments to fill the spectrum but I like it!
  16. holy shit. love the progression, bass, and time sig (3/4 puts me to sleep IN A GOOD WAY) don't like the vinyl crackly sound but I'm also an ass Imma go take a nap now, good job :]
  17. http://soundcloud.com/chiwalker-1/2012-1 Don't know what to expect in terms of feedback in the originals thread, but I wrote this for my friends who are 'bout to graduate college and therefore named it 2012. #TranceFamily :]
  18. Please PLEASE at :54....Filter the shit out of that 1 second of floatiness - I love the heavy energy of this song! I would suggest: stuttering volume, or panning, or doing any kind of crazy filter/fx shit to really lift off during that 1 second of beauty!
  19. In VSTs if you look at the top left of the VST window, there is a little gear icon that you can click. Under Settings tab, MIDI, you can change the pitch-bend range.
