Okay, so I'm definitely available as a keyboardist, and I've been working on a Dr. Wily Stage 1 (Mega Man 2) remix for a while already...so count me in for the Dr. Wily/Sigma part. I'm gonna try my best to incorporate all the Dr. Wily and Sigma theme songs into it.
-
Eh, I don't think you'll be banned for just that. You've learned from your mistakes already; you'll be fine. And yeah, the Power Rangers had awesome music. I like the main theme the most, but on Sega Genesis I own the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Movie game and although I haven't played it for a while, I remember that the music was terrific. I think this should be turned into a project, but I doubt we could get enough people willing to participate.
-
Yeah, that one. But I notice that most (or all) of the current remixes are techno/trance, etc. I'd like to see someone's take on a metal remix, if at all possible.
-
I'm DEFINITELY willing to do one of these...if no one else is going to do one. I've been thinking about doing the Hyrule Castle stage, but I've wanted to hear how other people would do it as well. I'm also an attempted metal artist, so my music may not exactly catch most people's ears. But I guess it's worth a shot. I'll try whenever I have the time.

I think it sounds awesome. It's an excellent collection of synths, and not only does it stick to the original, the parts that aren't from the original (ie. the solo) would totally fit with the original anyway. I wish my synths sounded nearly as good. Did you use the Claw VST at any point in this? Because if not, I'd like to know how to achieve those perfect pitch bends and modulations.

Very welcome.

Ahhh, I see. Have you used the program "sfArkXTc" to extract the SF2 files from them? Because some of the soundfonts I get in SFPACK format, I extract the SF2 files and still they don't work. I found it likely to be just my computer though, because I haven't heard any other complaints.
-
Are you extracting it to the right place? The SF2 file should go into the folder "C:\Program Files\Image-Line\FL Studio <number>\Data\Patches\Soundfonts. If it's not in there, it won't be detected unless you go through the process of setting a random folder up as a searchable folder for VST plugins, but then you have to click the "refresh folder" button every time you get a new soundfont.

...No?...No one? Actually, I'd like even more to hear the Hyrule Temple song from SSBM remixed. Anyone up?
-
I think it'd be totally wicked to hear a metal remix of the Fire Emblem theme from Super Smash Bros. Melee (I haven't played the actual FE games, so I don't know if that's the actual theme song). Anyone can feel free to remix it in their own style. I personally would like to hear a wicked metal version, with a bit of acoustic guitar just to fit in the original sound. Maybe some fast bass drum would go well...I dunno.

Okay, now that I have functional virtual amps and am relatively happy with them, I'm looking for virtual amps (or any guitar simulation) that can...well...play lower notes. On my 61-note keyboard, the virtual amps play from my low E to the high D, and I sometimes use my transposition to lower my key sounds...but it doesn't work with these. Anyone got some helpful info on this?
-
OH MY GOD! They actually got Gene Hoglan on drums?! That is LEGENDARY. ...Oh my god. Just...oh my god.
-
I have a Fender Squier, I just can't play it. I'm a keyboardist, see, and inevitably a shitty guitarist. The most I can play on it is the Duke Nukem 3D theme song.
-
Thanks! However, I've put my amp sims in a number of folders including my C:\Program Files\Vstplugins folder (which it chooses by default to search for plugins), and I have no idea where to find them in the program itself so I can actually use them. Anyone got info's for that?
-
Okay, I guess I was linked wrong because the link he gave me was a domain-for-sale site. And my FL Studio 8 came with Slayer, but I can't figure out where to put my amp sims to get them to work.
-
That appears to be an advertising website... And I have DLL files of the virtual amps though. Is there a program I have to get to use those as plugins, or something?
-
Whoaaa thar bud. I'm not even sure how to open the virtual amp...What do I use to open it? And how? Also, where am I finding the mixer track selection? Sorry about my ineptitude.
-
Does anyone know if you can add amps to the drop-down amp menu in FL Slayer? I've got virtual amps like Studio Devil and the Wagner Sharp Tube Preamp, but I lost my guitar cord (and don't know how to use it with my computer anyway, I'm a noob) and (as easy as it is to go out and buy another one) it'd be cool if there was a way someone knew of to put virtual amps in a virtual guitar..."feature" in a program. ...Wow, that was really tedious to say. Anyway, yeah. Anyone got the knowledge of such things?

Megaman 2 - Dr. Wily Stage 1 metal
Demonstray replied to Demonstray's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Okay, good news, I fixed the terrible pitch and exaggerated volume levels. Visit again at http://www.soundclick.com/cryosis to hear it, I hope people don't hate it as much now. I have yet to add any form of excitement to this song, because considering it's supposed to be metal...I need guitar. Lately I've been absorbed in trying to mess around with FL Slayer to make it sound realistic, but it doesn't work. -
Megaman 2 - Dr. Wily Stage 1 metal
Demonstray replied to Demonstray's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Oh man...you had an amazing song going there! What stopped you from finishing? I'd be glad to help you out with it if you're up for it! -
Alright fellas, this is a completely premature WIP and I shouldn't be posting this so early on in my remix, but I'd like to know what you guys think of this...and if you can spot something that's gone wrong. It's supposed to be a synthesized intro to a metal version of Dr. Wily stage 1 from Megaman 2, so no, it's not supposed to have any ridiculous drum loops in it or anything. http://www.soundclick.com/cryosis I'd also appreciate it if you guys could give me some idea as to where to carry it next and give it a "jump-start" into metal. Thanks!

Electrical guitar soundfonts?

Thank you very much, my good man. I'm actually planning to start a project pretty soon, and I'll PM you if (and when) I need some 'tar. -
Electrical guitar soundfonts?
Demonstray replied to Demonstray's topic in Music Composition & Production
Yeah, I've checked it...I have their best (working) electrical guitar soundfonts, and they're actually decent, but I was just hoping for something a little more realistic, kind of like RealGuitar is with acoustic and RealStrat is with clean electric. -
Does anyone know of any good electrical guitar soundfonts that are compatible with FL Studio? Like, good for heavy metal-style stuff, including power chords and solos? It'd be cool if it was free, but to my knowledge that's pretty much impossible to come by. So yeah, I appreciate any word as to the whereabouts of such things. (In case you're bewildered as to why I want one...I have a keyboard, and that's it, but I'm trying for as professional a sound as I can come by.)
