Hey there! I recently completed this arrangement of the 7AM theme from the original Animal Crossing that I thought I would share. It was interesting process to adapt this to live instruments and add some more jazzy elements to the tune, as well as expand on the drums to make things a bit more interesting. Hope you guys enjoy it!

Good to see this being picked up again. You can definitely use my track for it; just hit me up for the wav and writeup.

@Meteo Xavier Thanks for stepping up - any issues with @Rexy as your co-director & channel of communication to staff, since she's a newly-appointed judge?
If that works for you, we'd love the help.
First order of business is verifying from existing artists w/ finished tracks that they're okay with releasing under new management. Don't want to make any assumptions. Second order of business is wrapping up any WIP/unfinished tracks and getting the music to 100% Third order of business is pursuing album art that jives with FF3 but also the first two albums, FF1/FF2, since it's basically a continuation, even under new leadership After that, it *should* be mostly crossing T's and dotting I's - director & artist comments, flood picks, etc. Sound good? @Gario & @Theory of N are helping with overall album coordination, tagging them so they're aware. Would love to see this happen this year, but more important that it does indeed happen!

    Rexy's awesome, so that's excellent.
I'll see about getting to some of the rest of this stuff later in this week as I'm behind on work in other areas, but yes, that's a good start.

@Gario Yeah that's basically it - we only do artist bios if the album website decides to feature them, which is less common these days. Track comments ALWAYS good.
BTW I've got 1'30" on my mix and do hope to finish it shortly!

Track comments would be solid, the permission form so that we know we can use your music for the album will also be necessary (which I need to go through the forms we already have). Otherwise, I'll need to talk to DjP after the project finishes up to see if there's anything else that we need from the artist.

I read this and now I need new underwear. And new pants. And a new computer chair. And new carpet and possibly some work done on the foundation of my house because that's how hard I shit myself reading this. ***damn, the Japanese version is even getting Dracula X. Not quite the hard-to-obtain title it used to be, but that alone is going to make import sales go up though I suspect we will have a chance to get it stateside.
    Hurray and hallelujah!

Peaceful and relaxing. Sort of an 'end of the adventure' tune that'd roll over the credits. Good job, you saved the thing! Now go enjoy a beverage of your choice. You've earned it!

lol, you're good; I count your last submission for this due date. No rush.

... TBH, I think I'm the only one in trouble on this due date, so... git on it, Gario!

You can't go wrong with Smooth4Lyfe. You just can't. His vocals are really a dream, when it comes to this kind of arrangement.
    Great stuff, highly recommended.

I have changed my reverb techniques a bit, which I believe helps. I guess I'll go ahead and submit it. It's been a LONG time since I submitted anything.

Definitely digging this, and as a fan of all things Goonies, I love the mix title.
Wonderful space/reverb differentiating the parts; still plenty of clarity & crispness. Hope you submit!

Thanks Gario. I suppose I could have toned down the guitar a bit, particularly when the leads are playing.

    GAME: Goonies (NES/FC)
    TRACK: Alternate Level Theme

Well, I'm back after another long slumber. It's been a while since I've created any music, so I thought I'd post this Goonies arrangement here before I make a video for it to post on my youtube channel. I made this in two days which is unusually fast for me. I am wondering if I should trust my ears or not.
I originally used the flute VST that I have used in past mixes, however, it wasn't sitting well in the mix so I swapped it out for a couple of synth flutes. Some people may not like it, but I think it gives it more of an 80s feel which I like.
Let me know if you think I bass and drums are at a good level or not. The concern is that I have a new setup now with different speakers and I'm not used how things sound on them.
    The original track.

Oh, this is a fun little arrangement. I agree - leaning into the artificial aspect of your instruments (like your flute-ish instrument) rather than trying to make them sound realistic gives the arrangement a more unique and pleasant flavor. The mixing of the guitar is too much to the front for essentially being the texture, but otherwise the production is pretty good, as well.
Nice work, and I'm glad to see you makin' some music again.

Hey I opened Ableton and... thought about the arrangement, for at least ten minutes It's something! The easiest, fastest, and most fun approach is to turn my relatively sad/somber source into, well.... something funky, and even a little disco.

Aight I got like a minute of something that resembles retrowave, and I'm gonna stick with it, cheese guitar solo & all ::)

So, I was a heavy 'user' of OC Remix about 16 years ago, in my high school years, and am returning to the fold now.  This remix was my first stop.  It's amazing to cruise downtown at night listening to this.  Part remix, part re-imagining, beautiful combination of organ/keyboard and sax (sometimes hard to differentiate the two,  they flow out so naturally) this one's stuck with me for just shy of two decades. In like fashion, I'll punch this into my CD player every time the sun is down and I'm headed toward the big lights.  Amazing work.

It's not retrowave if it doesn't have the cheese! And if you need vocoders for it, you know where to find me
