Yeahhhh, this track! I loved this in the workshop. So much creativity brought to a well-known source that just blows it out of the water. melody has always had a brain for improvisation. I was a fan back when I knew him as xRisingForcex on YouTube... still a fan of him here on OCR as melody.

I was initially disappointed in the somewhat lower than expected amount of comments and reviews for this album. But after a while I starting to think about it.
Maybe doing an album like this isn't about accolades and praise. Maybe it isn't something we did, so we could pat ourselves on the backs and say "we did it". Maybe it isn't for others to compliment and rate. It isn't a lot of things. But I do know what it is for.
It's for a man that isn't here to listen to it. It's for his fans to reminisce his work. It's for his legacy.
And maybe... maybe that's all it needs to be.

This mix is just badass - love it right from the intro. The beat is damn tight & the usage of scratches and monkey noises @0:42 is very creative. Love your straightforward yet unusual approach. Nice work!

Well, it was my ex-girlfriend who kind of introduced me to OCRemix, in 2004, she sent me some mixes from here. I rediscovered it in early 2006 when I was looking for some new music. I regularly visited and joined the community in about 2010, I'm not quite sure, when I decided to start making my own remixes and since then I'm here on a nearly daily basis. Thanks to this awesome community I've learned so much about music, and being here helps a lot when I'm feeling down. Since I heard my first remix, the remixes are a part of my life, in bad and in good times. I can't live without music, so I definitely couldn't live without OCRemix

And thank you djpretzel, DarkeSword and all of you judges and community workers for keeping this project alive, video game music wouldn't be the same without OCRemix

@Mirby & others - might require hard-clearing your cache, but the mascot now kicks in at 1600px+ resolutions... it won't appear for as many users, but it also won't obstruct navigation... full v6 design should hopefully have a better solution for this.

@MindWanderer First issue addressed, above. Second issue, well... apparently bbcode is still supported in some weird, strange fashion, but not really in a way that would make it particularly useful. I liked having the option, too, but it doesn't seem like it'll be coming back any time soon. However, it's all about the tradeoffs... as mentioned, CKEditor has some definite advantages, and we'll be leveraging it more in the months to come.

My first thought was that "OC ReMix" was some kind of rap act, because of a song that popped up on KaZaA with OC ReMix in the title. I'm pretty sure that was a Chrono Trigger remix. Anyway. This was likely around 2002. I've mentioned the site on various Norwegian fora over the years, and bought three, black t-shirts.
So is this site still run by Dr. Pepper?

Yeah I pointed out the mascot/menu overlap earlier but it must've been passed over lol

When I go to 90% zoom it works out nicely, but at 100% zoom they overlap.

Iris really is great for manipulating recorded audio. You really can get some crazy sounds out of it quite quickly. 

Otherwise, I suggest starting to build your own library of field recordings. Doing this sort of thing will give you access to unique sounds that others might not have. Another avenue to explore is to build some basic analog synth circuits and sample them. Start off by building an Atari Punk Console or any other simple project.

Just to add the MOBILE version of the site at least in Safari, is amazing. Not to hurt anyone's feelings but the last mobile site on the previous forum software was POOP! I know you didn't make it and it's just what is bundled in, so it's nobody's fault really. But the point is this new one is AWESOME!! I mean I couldn't test it thoroughly because the new software refreshed or removed cookies, so since I don't actually remember my password I've only been able to log in on PC because Chrome saved my passwords... hrm someday.. someday I will hit the "Forgot password?" button and see what happens...

Reached the 100th mark today (technically, I must be around 105-110 because I reviewed a few ones without updating my sheet)! Hope I can find enough time to make it to 200! It's insane how you can miss some good music and this is a great way to discover cool stuff.

Right, but it's their editor, so if I complain to them, about their editor, something they are designing as their product, it's more effective than complaining here on OCR about someone else's editor.

I personally love the attachment feature but I think it should have a cap on it for sure, maybe 10mb. And it should be limited to common image formats and mp3 / ogg
I also like the built-in post saving for when you're thinking of posting something, leave, and come back and post it later. I don't know if I'd necessarily trust it for something big but it's cool nonetheless. The dropdown menu at the top is still showing up behind the forum frame for some reason, which makes more difference on the music and people tab than it does on the forum tab, which hasn't been too useful since changing forum versions  It'd probably be functional enough as just a normal simple button
Oh right, I like the automatic paragraph breaking by default now! No more pressing enter twice! It's the little productivity increases that matter most!

@djpretzel The "post your own..." issue is fixed on my side! I can also confirm for the fix on clicking on the "evaluated" link to see the Judges' decisions on mixposts.

Email notifications for thread replies are FORCED ON. This is not good.

Whenever I go to a mixpost page and click "post your own..." to write a review (at least on the latest two mixes, if not more), I get Error code 2S100/6. So, while we can still review, it tends to require clicking "complete thread" and then making a review via the reply box there. Also, when I click "complete thread" from the mixpost page, there is no link to return to the "ReMix Details page" as there had been before.

 
The mascots disappear if the browser window width is below about... 1200px or something. But that's part of the integration with smart devices, I think. If you further shrink the browser window width, you should see a dynamic change in the layout. It's due to the CSS defining specific display options (display: none; or display: visible;) on various objects depending on the window width parameters.
It probably looks something like this:

The userbar goes beneath the backdrop on the OCR title graphics (~/images/template/header_alt.jpg). I'm still testing on the latest version of Firefox, and though I'm on a MAC OSX, I'd expect the same issue at home on my Windows 7 Pro too.

I'd recommend it just to see the consequences (or lack thereof) of joining the side that's usually portrayed as evil in FO4. It was actually pretty satisfying, seeing the long term results and what happens at the conclusion of the story. I'm not sure if I'd do it again -  partially because there were some dire implications, but mostly because I already know what happens and would want to see what else could have happened instead. I'd go a bit more in depth and be less vague about it, but without knowing how far along the main story you are there are far too many potential spoilers.

Oooh, I'm really diggin' the layout CSS changing with the browser window size.

Are the quote tags fixed? Can you link to specific threads where they are broken, if not?
 
This was a legitimately odd issue with the permissions being borked... dunno how on Earth that happened, but it should be fixed. Please confirm when you get a chance!
