    It's more like you use the same exact button letters on the GameCube controller as you would on the SNES controller.

    It works. I was using the composite cable with widescreen on for about two weeks before getting the component cable.

    I, too, think that Mario Kart 64 is better than Double Dash, especially with multiplayer. However, I feel that Mario Kart DS beats them both.
