  1. A wild piece of shit chroxic is trying to pass off as dnb and dubstep appeared! It's submitted, but I don't think it's very effective. Seriously though, I haven't touched FL Studio in ages and I just wanted an excuse to make something reeeeeeeally quick :] (under two hours in this case)
  2. Podcast #6 is up. For spring break, I will not be holding a show next week (March 16th) but it will be business as usual the following week (March 23rd).
  3. This will definitely be quite the musical exercise for me, but I can work with that :]
  4. Thanks again Species! I'm currently uploading my recording of episode 5 but I've decided to change up my show a bit. Since I love VGM Scramble and I want to keep it going as long as possible, I naturally want to avoid any potential legal issues with distributing my podcast. That is why I have decided that my show is now going to be split in half. During the first hour, I will play all sorts of VGM as usual, free or otherwise. This music will stay on the airwaves without going into the podcast. From this point on, the podcast will only consist of the second half of the show which will contain either music that is freely available to begin with or music from artists I have directly contacted that are cool with me putting their stuff in the podcast. This does shorten the podcast down to one hour but it also ensures I won't have any legal issues down the road. EDIT: My recording of show 5 is now uploaded.
  5. School's nuts (as usual) but the source and the potential to pick the next source is very tempting... I'll see what I can do.
  6. AWESOME news: In addition to giving you guys a sample of the Retro City Rampage music, I'll be playing a sample of the Nubuwo Debut Bundle! The awesome Nobuooo people granted me early access to the bundle in order to prep what is truly shaping up to be an amazing fifth show of VGM Scramble!
  7. Yeah, I am totally getting a Mega Man vibe here. The best part was at 1:12. Whatever you do with this song, you have GOT to keep that section in there. Transition into it differently if you want, but I think that section is awesome. Jeez, that kinda makes me wanna try my hand at a Chemical Plant Zone remix now...
  8. lol less than a second into the song, I totally thought this sounded like a Corridors of Time remix XD The part at 1:28 was SICK. Follow everyone else's advice and this will be one sweet piece of dnb.
  9. Definitely need to bump this one and possibly sticky it so it doesn't get buried underneath everything. JEEZ. So many radio shows. XD
  10. Thanks Species! I've still been recording episodes but I haven't quite had a chance to fix up and upload shows 3 & 4 for various stupid reasons. I'm hoping to fix them up and upload them within the next few days. Also, I've been informed and noticed myself that there is a discrepancy between the volume when I'm speaking and the volume of the songs. I'll see what I can do about that. The radio station studio gives me an OOOOOOLD soundboard with old VU meters to work with so I'm trying to fix it. On a side note, I'm planning on playing some songs from the Retro City Rampage soundtrack this week Name a request here and I'll do my best to play it this week! EDIT: I FINALLY have shows 3 & 4 up. Show number 4 was a vile little bastard that forced me to use FL Studio's extended memory option just to open the uncompressed WAV recording. Then again, at about 128 minutes, it IS the longest show yet.
  11. . I'm definitely planning on giving this one a shot (anyone that's listened to any of my PRC entries will clearly see why ), but I wanna see what flavors of ReMix other people come up with.EDIT: I love the spontaneity of a great remix idea!
  12. I already have an idea for this one. That is a very good sign that I may enter this round.
  13. Interesting. We are currently looking at a Shoot 'Em Up RTS that takes place in a steampunk version of ancient Egypt. Scroll of Duty: The Anubis Construct? Hell if I know
  14. So far, we're looking at a Shoot 'Em Up RTS with a Steampunk WWII setting. o_O Notch, you crazy bastard. XD
  15. Since it is such an awesome bundle, I've decided to give away a copy of the second Indie Game Music Bundle on my show this week! All you have to do is spread the word about my show on Facebook or Twitter. Check out the Facebook page for more details. EDIT: I made the instructions easier due to some stupid Facebook functionality. Go check 'em out!
  16. I LOVE this XD Seriously, I'm going to keep an eye on this and grab it as soon as it is released. Nice job.
  17. Oh MAN, I hear ya. Tree of Knowledge is an awesome soundtrack for a game that never existed. The Return All Robots! OST was awesome as well. Even the cover art is awesome. XD Slightly off-topic: Ectogemia (and any other fellow oldskool FM freaks), you might like Sonicesque, "an album of original songs in the style of the classic Genesis-era Sonic games" using the VOPM VST (which incidentally may or may not help you out with making chiptunes :] ).
  18. I definitely think the $30 purchase is in order, especially from a game development perspective. No, but fear not.
  19. The first one was awesome. I am buying this like literally right after I hit "Submit Reply". By the way, you can definitely expect to hear some tracks from these albums on VGM Scramble tomorrow (Friday).
  20. Yup, I was hoping this was what you meant. :] As for the layout of the first post, it looks MUCH better. Good job. This semester has been nuts. As a result, I have not gotten around to spread the word about this yet. However, I will have some time this weekend to get caught up on that stuff. In addition, the next meetings for the two video game clubs I'm involved in at my university are tomorrow and I'll definitely mention this to them. I can probably squeeze a quick plug into VGM Scramble as well.
  21. Yes, I am now planning on having podcasts for my radio show starting from the second one. However, it turns out Species8472 recorded this first one! You can snag it here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/s5qwy2

  22. Now I get to relive the crappy intro to the show XD Seriously though, THANK YOU. I'm working on getting a podcast up so everyone can download shows and listen whenever they like, but thanks again for doing this for the first show. EDIT: Wow, actually listening to the show personally is making me notice areas for improvement that I didn't initially pick up on. I wouldn't have noticed this stuff until at least the next show.
  23. That reminds me of the Sailor Mouth episode of Spongebob: xDOn a serious note, I'm psyched for this. Provided my BK track is in a good position by then, I'm totally in , crappy entries or not.
  24. Oh sweet, this is a Ruby script! Maybe this will actually force me to mess around with Ruby like I've been meaning to for the last few months... Anyway, nice job. I'll definitely be getting this up and running on my desktop this week.
