  1. http://www.box.net/shared/svmmgcia8i Not sure there's much I'd like to add to this, I'd be happy to call this a finished track. To challenge myself this time, I'm opting NOT to switch this thread to mod review. PLEASE don't take any offense to this, mods but I'd like to try to take the step to get past the panel without the help of the workshop moderators. Thanks to everyone who commented for the feedback provided
  2. Glad you like it. Keep in mind the composition is not finished yet though; the finished track will have many more countermelodies and ornamental fills to spice the track up and keep it more interesting. In response to your comments about the arrangement with respect to OCR standards, I think there's enough going on other than direct source material (along with the genre) to consider this an OCR-acceptable arrangement. And again, the composition isn't done yet.
  3. What??? You didn't like that part? wtf oh well, can't please everybody The composition for the most part is finished. Still need to sprinkle some pixie dust on the track http://www.box.net/shared/svmmgcia8i Bass sounds better too in this version.
  4. EXTREME UPDATE: http://www.box.net/shared/svmmgcia8i *ahem* not that extreme 0_0'
  5. I updated the track after he commented with a different intro. Haha thanks guys for the feedback. Surely by the time I've finished the composition everything should sound better.
  6. Thanks so much for your help, Level99 I know the arrangment's borderline (if that), so I won't be discouraged at all if it doesn't pass.
  7. http://theguitahheroe.bandcamp.com/track/the-sky-will-be-your-limit I'm content.
  8. I need to get pumped up for the GRMRB http://www.box.net/shared/svmmgcia8i source (as if it's needed): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvIaOM6t3w8 Nowhere near finished yet
  9. http://www.box.net/shared/6a1oo972ku There's an update based on utilizing most of the suggestions you guys gave
  10. Haha, you must have listened to it LOUD then to notice that Will do. I'm not sure how to do a source breakdown here, but here goes: *:14 - 3:05 and 4:15 to 6:30 = main bass structure of all of the source *chords from :37 - 3:22 and 4:15 - 6:30 are slight variations of chords in the source *Lead from 1:20 - 1:47, 2:00 - 2:32, and 4:30 - 5:03 (with the exception of the last 5 or so seconds of lead) are straight from the source *ostinado from 2:44 - 3:14 and 4:14 - 6:00 are straight from the source *high bells from :49 - 3:30 and 3:45 - 6:15 are straight from the source *3:23 - 4:14 = break from all source usage with the exception of the high bells. Total 365 seconds of source out of 396 seconds of song. Yeah, pretty conservative, but a completely different genre and style... -And that's about it. I will definitely attempt at a synth lead throught, whenever the actual source leads aren't playing, and I'll try my best to do it tastefully Thanks a ton for the feedback guys, really helped out a lot
  11. K, bumping this once again with an update http://www.box.net/shared/6a1oo972ku plzplzplz comments on the arrangement???????/?/?/ It may not be up to OCR's standards, but I'll probably submit it anyway just to see what happens. Thanks, -TGH
  12. haha can't wait for that. Even though I might be too busy with real life to make something decent, I feel like it will still be a great experience for me :D

Do I even need to tell you I'm looking forward to what you come up with as well? lol

  13. Why wasn't I friends with you before. . . . ?

Wow that makes me feel terrible. . . I thought I requested you XD

  14. Aw hell, I'll enter! (But I may not be able to complete every phase of the competition) Picks: Bubbleman Splashwoman Nitroman Elecman Airman
  15. Bumping this for Mod Review. Again, I'm partial to not changing this arrangement, but I'm curious as to how it would fit in with OCR standards. Personally I'm torn on that issue. http://www.box.net/shared/6a1oo972ku source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9EtAPA4KEE Remix Name: "The Sky Will Be Your Limit"
  16. Update: http://www.box.net/shared/6a1oo972ku Composition is done, production is almost done. Let me know what you think! Thanks! -TGH EDIT: I'm curious to know if this would possibly be considered to be on OCR with the arrangement like it is. . I'm just curious if it is or not, and if it's not, then I don't intend on changing it anyway. (lol sorry if that's hard to understand, I'm an idiot you see )
  17. Remixed this a long time ago, don't like it anymore. . . so I re-did it, progressive house-style http://www.box.net/shared/6a1oo972ku I honestly don't have a good feeling about whether or not this type of arrangement is acceptable for OCR. . . it's kinda repetitive (as it is house) and takes a while to get anywhere, but I tried the best I can to get rid of some of the repetitiveness without actually getting rid of the house, lol source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9EtAPA4KEE Production and composition are still works in progress.
  18. tank youuuuuuuuuuu

    Haha feels good. :D

  19. Question, guys. . . I submitted a track named "Temporal Despair" a while back (it was a resub, but this is irrelevant). Expecting it to be rejected, I made a new, highly improved version and resubmitted that before the original "Temporal Despair" resub had made it to the judges panel. Turns out, that first version of the song ended up being accepted in the panel. So upon reaching the judges panel, will the newly submitted song (under the same name) just be immediately rejected? Or can I request that the posting of the track be withheld until the newer one reaches the judges panel? If this isn't possible then don't worry about it though. Thanks!
  20. And now for something completely different. . . I combined this with ANOTHER PMD piano mix that I did to make a six minute+ piano track. http://tindeck.com/listen/guyu I'm submitting this on April 27th lol (the three week mark after submitting 'Temporal Despair')
  21. UPDATE!!!!!!! http://www.box.net/shared/mdpc0aj3ql THIS SONG IS INTENSE AS HELL, MAN SOURCE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51IYbIU18cc
