Have majority of my bonus track done. Not going crazy with the arrangement because, honestly, I love the song as is and only want to bring the instrumentation more up-to-date. Trying to focus my attention more on productions this time around. I'll have it submitted by Saturday.

Well then, I guess I'm doing a voice-over. I'll post something to this thread in the next couple of days.
Thanks to @TheChargingRhino for taking the first plunge! I'll also finish posting the Andross tracks this weekend so everyone can hear all the sources.
Everyone can contribute something, whether you want to help by designing part of the root track or just clapping your hands into a mic. Don't worry, we'll find something for you, Star.
This track is now yours, MB. Thank you!
Personally, I was hoping to get the waltz from SF SNES on this album somehow, but the choice is yours which track you use (just let me know which one you decide on). No genre restrictions, interpretation is wide open; my only guideline is to try to 'tell a story with the sound.' Oh yeah, and the OCR submission guidelines.

22 claims ... and since this Andross collaboration seems to be taking some sort of shape, that means...
DISC 2 - VENOM HAS NOW OFFICIALLY REACHED ITS FIRST GOAL OF 12 TRACKS!
Thank you to everyone who has participated in this so far. I really appreciate all the collaborators who have also stepped up this week and offered their services too - I am really happy with how this is all turning out and EXCITED to hear what comes of this!
Now, just because disc 2 has reached its first goal does not mean claims are cut off. There are four more tracks for the second disc I have listed in the project overview that are open to claim and lots of character themes still open. Even boss themes! Also, only ONE TRACK LEFT for disc 1 to reach its first goal - which will also have some other tracks open to claims.
This project is still recruiting! Let us know if you want in!

Never can have enough Aquatic Ambiance! It's funny you mention Phil Collins, because a lot of DKC songs are very reminiscent of Genesis/Phil Collins.
Onto your mix: the actual structure is pretty straightforward. Think you might have been able to introduce more unique patterns earlier into the song. The whistle effect that comes in at 0:46 is a little flat. Not sure if adding some reverb or a delay would help give it some more depth, but it might. The drum solo at 1:36 could probably benefit from hitting at different notes or mixing up the use of different types of toms. Don't think it captures the transition you're trying to achieve.
1:37 on is my favorite part. I love the acid synth arp in the background and when you start switching up the melody. The sound scape is really nice. You do a nice job using the synths, pads and beat to capture a darker atmosphere for AA.
I really enjoy this track and look forward to hearing where you take this!

Thanks! There's probably some more tweaks that I'll make to my track, but I kind of just hit a good stride and things just fell in place that way. Actually been solicited to work on a second track, so I'm going to kick around some ideas and see what I can come up with.

Man, Mystic Invasion is such a good track. Shame no one has taken up that as their source. I would, but I'm neither a published mixer and am involved with other projects the moment.
However, my day job is as a web developer, so I can probably assist with site needs. Just shoot me a PM with what the team is looking for and I'll make some recommendations.

I have upgraded DS394's track to Orange Status, as it is a complete (not finished) track; however, the track still needs a name, @DS394!
And thanks again to 'The Flash' @Starphoenix for claiming Macbeth from SF SNES!
That makes 20 claimed tracks - 10 for each album! Now we are just FOUR TRACKS AWAY from reaching our first goal of 24 tracks!

If anyone is looking for suggestions, here are a few tracks that I would really like to see claimed for the album that haven't been yet:
Asteroid Belt / Meteo (SF64) The Awesome Black Hole (w/map select - SF SNES) Sector Y (SF SNES) Out of This Dimension (SF SNES) Andross... (any/all games) That being said, all unclaimed tracks are still open. Let us know if you want in!

Really excited to hear what some of the other remixers have been cooking up. Getting closer to getting both CDs filled, which is exciting!

Slimy's claim on 'various Star Fox themes' will probably have some of the same melodies, but his focus is on ending themes; I have no claims for medleys that spread to the Menu Theme or Stage Clear theme specifically. I say go for it. I'm a big fan of creativity, so mix it up and see what happens!
I'll put you down for the Stage Clear.
This is also OK! Bolse is now yours.
    Claimed!

I would also like to announce that @JulienMulard has claimed Aquas! He's be moving in an electro-metal direction with his track and will be trying to combine both the SF64 theme with the SF Command theme. Can't wait to hear his first WIP!
    Welcome aboard, Julien!
    ----
I'm loving all this activity. We have quite a few WIPs as well and there is some awesome music being created for this project.
We have TWO TRACKS LEFT to be claimed for the first disc to reach the first goal...! Thanks to everyone for their help in bringing @Thomas Neil's idea to light. This is going to be great!
There are still lots of tracks left to claim - let us know if you want in!

True to my word, I got my project started this weekend. Have about 40 secs of an intro I've been playing around with to try and build my instruments and soundscape. So far the chill has been obtained.
UPDATE: Managed to get more work done. At around 2:20 mark. Zoness is proving to be a tad more challenging of a source than I thought, but so far it is going well. Pretty pleased with the results thus far. I should have a rough WIP done by this weekend.

And the title for my track is going to be Diving into the Deep Green Abyss.

Sup OCR! Journey to the Centre of the World is my second full length original album, and is available for download at Bandcamp! Journey to the Centre of the World is a 10 track album, which i've been working on for the past 2-3 years. The album is a big fat 80's inspired Chiptune/Rock fusion. It has authentic chiptunes, less authentic chiptunes, and big fat 80s production with operatic singing and crazy synth/guitar solos! And it's FREE!!!
    https://willrock1.bandcamp.com/album/journey-to-the-centre-of-the-world

Track 1 features the Vocal Talents of Valentino Francavilla (Best known as the vocalist of ShockFront) and the famitracker chops of @DaMonz and the album also features a Remix by OCRs @DDRKirby(ISQ)!
You can download it on Bandcamp, or on overclocked records for the small price of free, but every donation helps me support myself and continue to make great music! If you end up enjoying the music, please consider paying what you think is a fair price for the download
Thanks guys! REALLY hope you enjoy this one, a lot of effort went into it!

I see Zoness is unclaimed for the second disc, so I'd like to hog it for myself and throw my hat into the ring.
Think I have a nice direction for the track. Something along the lines of chill-down electronica/chiptune. I'll listen to the track, get a good idea of the structure of the song and start kicking around some ideas this week.

Great job everyone! Think everyone did good making the theme sound and feel eerie. A lot of it reminded me of old 80's suspense film music, but that's not bad. lol

This is a lovely source because it is so simple structurally that it really leaves a lot open for interpretation. I mean I've got this really low key vibey sort of thing. Hoboka came up with this, dare I say, 70s-esque Sci-Fi take on it (really just missing that HF flutter honestly lol) that suits the material equally as well. Then you've got Starphoenix with something I'd hear in a low budget horror Sci-Fi flick (I mean that in the best way possible btw, I love cheesy Sci-Fi horror movies)! Absolutely, incredible the differences in approaches.

I try to listen to a wide variety of music, but generally what inspires me in terms of sound design is stuff by @big giant circles, @zircon, @Joshua Morse, and other people who have an established 'sound palette', because they have a distinctive set of sounds that emanate their essence, in such a way that you can tell when they've written a particular piece. That is, you listen to a piece by them, and can immediately identify it as theirs, because the sound design is memorable and innovative/unique/distinct.
I've also found that as you actually try to make certain sounds, you start to feel more inspired by them more easily. I didn't like dubstep music about 2 years ago, but after designing a bunch of dubstep basses, it's one of my primary musical genres to write.
You may find some ideas here in this playlist:

I'm not familiar with the source tune, but I think this sounds very serene. 1:52-2:24 is probably my favorite part since I'm a sucker for a good violin solo. A shame the project was cancelled. You and your contributors did an excellent job on this track!

My song kind of is hit-or-miss on the theme I feel like... Think I'm going to need to create an alternate version of my current track in order to get it to fit the theme better.

Either or is fine with me and the other voters I'm sure, so long as it fits the MNP standard.  Even then it doesn't really matter as people tend to vote whatever they feel like anyhow lol.

I'm going to work on my track this week and try to submit it next weekend. Just have a question though: is the goal to make this track sound spooky, or is that description simply playing off the month? What I have right now doesn't really classify as "spooky," so I just want to make sure.
