  1. AWESOME! */end caps*

Great to see you back and in the competition, my friend! :D

Looking forward to what you come up with, and best of luck to you. :)

  2. And intelligent me went back and forth between a tab here and a YouTube tab, queried for some Maverick themes that I remembered offhand, listened to the song a bit, (and if it fit the criteria) copied the link from each video and, only afterward, realized you had those same links to the various themes. Final freakin' edit: And there's that.
  3. Haha.

I was just about to leave a visitor message for pixelwave to sign up so he can get in if DarkeSword allows 24 mixers... and I see a message from you. :P

    You read my mind. :o

  4. Hey! What's up?

Long time, no visitor chatter! :D

I was wondering if you wanted to join the Grand Maverick Remix Battle!

DarkeSword's going to have 16 or up to 32 remixers... right now, there's 15 more slots open until 32 mixers are on board! :D

Just wanted to let you know. :D

Edit: Good grief, I sound like the recruiter for a brand new guild on the old Battle.net Clan Hall forums. Wasn't intentional, I swear. :P

  5. Hope you don't mind me offering some recommendations. Note: None of the following Mavericks have been selected as a first choice of anyone... yet. From Mega Man X: Chill Penguin From Mega Man X2: Hmm, all of the more laid-back, minimal themes are taken here, it appears. But, if you're curious, I'd recommend Bubble Crab or Crystal Snail from here. From Mega Man X3: Neon Tiger From Mega Man X4: As per Zerothemaster's recommendation, Frost Walrus is definitely chilled out. Cyber Peacock is a bit faster paced, but he hasn't been selected yet. From Mega Man X5: Dark Necrobat is a possibility here. From Mega Man X6: Commander Yammark, as Bahamut recommended. From Mega Man X7: Hmm... the most chilled-out song I can hear from here is Wind Crowrang's theme. From Mega Man X8: In this game, some Maverick's stages have two themes. First, there's Dark Mantis. Another possibility could be Optic Sunflower. Finally, it sounds like could be up your alley.I'm sure I'm missing some here, but hopefully that list can help a bit. EDIT: And I just saw that Bahamut had links to the Mavericks' themes from X to X8 on page 2. Instead, intelligent me went back and forth between a YouTube tab and here and copied links from YouTube itself. *facepalm* Me smart. @Zerothemaster: Challenge accepted. <cue ominous laugh>
  6. And that makes 16 entries thus far! Awesome to the 'ness! Edit: Sorry Zerothemaster, that's my job!
  7. Hey!

    * Does Force wave* Sign up for this, man. :P

There's one slot left until it reaches 16 people!

  8. Mr. L

Hey! Long time, no visitor chatter! :D

    Sorry. :(

Anyway, I saw that you signed up for the Grand Maverick Remix Battle! I'm looking forward to what you come up with, and I just wanted to wish you the best of luck! :D

  9. Here goes! 1. Blizzard Wolfang - Mega Man X6 2. Dark Necrobat - Mega Man X5 3. Bamboo Pandamonium - Mega Man X8 4. Launch Octopus - Mega Man X 5. Crescent Grizzly - Mega Man X5 Thanks for hosting this again, DarkeSword! Edit: Changed order of my picks.
  10. Hey man!

I just wanted to drop by and say: Happy Birthday! :D

  11. It's been a whole year since you've received a visitor message! :o

Unacceptable for someone on my bud list!

...So, , and, in conclusion, what's up? :)

  12. Hey! Happy Birthday! :D

    Have a good one! :D

  13. Just wanted to post here and say thanks to everyone who voted for me and left some comments (either here or in their votes). And if you didn't vote for me, thanks for listening to my production nightmare nonetheless. Great round, everyone, and the best of luck to all!
  14. Hey man, just wanted to drop by and say "congratulations!", and also wanted to wish you good luck in the next round! :) Also, thanks for the comments on my entry. I enjoyed your entry as well! One day I'm going to have to try that style. :D

Finally, thanks for organizing this competition in the first place; had a lot of fun!

  15. From listening to both themes, it sounds like they'd complement each other quite well. Looking forward to what you two (and everyone else) came up with! Man, just a couple of days more... Excited! And unless I happen to get 20+ votes in a row... congratulations SuperiorX!
  16. Thanks for listening and for the write-up, Xenon! 0:44 starts Quartz Quadrant - Present, and then it shifts into the Good Future variation when the lead changes (in case you were curious). I tried to integrate, not so successfully, Lava Reef's familiar beginning into those weird 'plucking' sounds you hear in the background shortly after the aforementioned lead change. As for everything you wrote, well... yes ; it all hits home. I'm still learning my way around EQ'ing and arrangement; still light-years away on all of this, but I'll eventually get there, I'm hoping! Finally, well, glad I at least brought frosting... hopefully next time I'll bring the cake too.
  17. Hehe... interesting little rap you have there on the thread!

I guess I kind of overdid it with my entry huh... in the past I got some feedback about filling the soundscape, but I guess I overfilled it this time, haha.

Thanks for the comment, and best of luck in round 1!

  18. Great job everyone! And SuperiorX... smooth mix, man. ...And it appears we both like the Good Future of Quartz Quadrant.
  19. While waiting on the mixes, of the lizard... err.. Sonic Bracket!
  20. Okay, SuperiorX, I just sent you a PM with the link! Looking forward to tomorrow and hearing everyone's entries!
  21. I'm at ~2:59, and that's probably where I'll stop. I have one section where the two themes come together (later in the song), but I'm not quite satisfied with it... but I have no idea what to replace it with. I am blank at the moment. Other than that, I'm just focusing in on two transitions (just some minor tweaks to them) and EQ'ing! I'd say it's about... 80% finished now!
  22. I do hope things work out, time-wise, for you. I know after listening to your entries from the Wily Castle Remix Gauntlet and Supersonic Stardust, I'm really looking forward to what you come up with (and, well, I'm also looking forward to everyone's entries!) Okay, last post; back to FL Studio.
  23. Wow! Fast! Right now, I'm just trying to get my theme and yours to cooperate (transitions), but, dang it, your theme is evil and it doesn't like me (very much), or something. Once that's finished, I have a ton of EQ'ing to do due to me adding a ton of the same synth patches in my tired state at 2 A.M. "Oh, this sounds cool!" Gonna have to change some of them... But, of course, come Saturday, I shall be ready.
  24. Since we're giving status updates... I might as well add in my one and half cents. I'm 1 minute in... and SuperiorX's theme is working better for me in my selected genre than my own theme. But that's all right, plenty of time left! Not to mention, I'm having a blast with this so far! Anyway, for anyone who was interested... there it is. Edit: Well, things are going much better now. Quartz Quadrant is working with me now.
  25. OH YEAH! IT HAS BEGUN. LAVA REEF! ALL CAPS! SuperiorX, prepare yourself! Seriously, best of luck to you, man, and it's an honor competing against you! Edit: By the way, that bracket art is awesome! Great job on that!
