  1. Well normally I don't post WIPs which are that "new" (I did this in about 3 hours, and normally I'm not that confident), but yesterday I experimented a bit, and this came from it, yes it's short, yes it still needs work, but I'd like to know what you think of the basic concept. https://soundcloud.com/yaminokeshin/blue-flames-wip-v1
  2. I hope I have time to do something, I really love the source
  3. Hmm, PrototypeRaptor + Tornado Man? Hmm, interesting. Hehe, who am I kidding: AMAZING! Damn nice work
  4. Just placed my vote (at least I hope so, I closed the window really fast). It was a really difficult decision
  5. Well, I knew that the cake was a lie, before I knew there was a cake
  6. Normally I don't like that kind of genre, but this one got me hooked, because, well, it just works. And somehow it reminds me of the Waverace soundtrack.
  7. Bundeslang's video is some kind of NES style cover, is how it sounded on the Game Boy.Sorry, had to do this
  8. Voted, and just because I wanted to give feedback for Trism's remix
  9. Ok, I got something done, emphasis on something. I did this in about 3 hours, so don't expect a great listening experience:tomatoface:
  10. Damn, the deadline's today already... I tried to do something but I didn't get far. Let's see what I can do, with or without an extension
  11. I think that depends on your workflow. I'm in no way an effective example, but I try to do both things at the same time, because only doing the arrangement doesn't get me anywhere, so while I arrange I try diferrent sound settings, but just basic things: Don't be afraid of experimenting. And don't be afraid of building a project tree, where you branch off different phases. (Actually that just gave me an idea...)
  12. Don't worry, I'm not mad about this, I was just a bit surprised, but I should have really been clearer about this myself. And next time I'll definitely make something from scratch-
  13. I wasn't on for the last few days, but there's an error. The track submitted by me was not submitted to PRC before, it's an entirely different track than the one I had in mind when I asked. Sorry, I should have made this clearer
  14. Sounds interesting, I might have gotten an idea
  15. 1) Well, I think my first VGM experience must have been, when I got Megaman for the Gameboy. I instantly liked most of the music. 2) Considering myself as a VGM fan came when I really wanted to play Secret of Mana mainly because of the music which I really liked. There will be additional details when I answer #5 3) Well, my ex-girlfriend liked VGM as much as myself and she sent me some OCR material in 2004. In 2005, a while after we broke up, I remembered it and looked for it myself. And I'm here since (at least as a listener) 4) Well, the community is always helpful regardless of the topic (for example look at the discussion about depression) 5) Ok, bear with me, because I feel there's a lot of interconnection of different things in my life: As I already mentioned, I wanted to play SoM again, I heard about emulazors. Because of this I met a lot of people online, I was able to play Chrono Cross, which changed my life (literally), and I found OCR, which inspired me to making music myself
  16. Perhaps I can fix something, because I really like the Soul Blazer trilogy (even if I've never completed Terranigma)
  17. I submitted my entry. I remembered I had something up my sleeve which I think would fit for MnP, so it's not a "recycled" entry
  18. Thank you for your tips and advice, I didn't even consider trying out different limiters. Perhaps I should invest in a new sound card soon, because currently I use my internal one, which might not be a good combination with my headphones. I try to listen to some reference tracks, but sometimes as you might know ears tire And btw, I do know what impedance is, since I come from a technical background, but how are you supposed to know that beforehand And in the last days I did some reworking, which stemmed from experimenting, perhaps I'll post it as well, it might be a better raw track
  19. Can I enter with something I've once used for PRC?
  20. Thank you for the extensive feedback and the tips. Of course this is a first WIP, so it's far from perfect, I didn't even begin to EQ, so your tips for EQing are always appreciated. I do know my share of using an equalizer, but I still need more practice Concerning the drums, I did think about using more electronic drums, but I didn't. Personally I think I'm not ready for OCR yet, even when this will be finished
  21. I haven't been able to make music the last few months, so bear with me if it's not up to par. I had this theme in my had for quite some time, so I decided to try and make something out of it... https://soundcloud.com/yaminokeshin/dancing-in-the-horror-fortress
