  1. I was a big fan of Dragon Age 1. Anything Bioware made after that I tried and hated. Convince me to give ME3 a chance, especially if it's really different from ME2.
  2. Cool, very cheery and airy. You could breath some more life into the lead by incorporating some pitch bends on the attacks. You'd be surprised the difference it makes. The kick has a bit of strange distortion on it too. I really like your Forest of Purple Mist track. It reminds me a lot of FFXI's Rolanberry Fields. Evokes that sort of green, naturey vibe. Following you on Soundcloud now, keep it up.
  3. Picked up a copy through Amazon today because it was only $10. Won't be activating a membership for a few more months, but looking forward to seeing you guys online when I do. Unless SE gives up on it, which would be the most disappointing thing in my life. EDIT: OK, I'm looking at this Crysta system and trying to figure it out. It says for a 180 day subscription for one character, it's 300 Crysta. The 500 Crysta pack is only $5, so a yearly membership only costs $10? Bwuh???
  4. I hate lack of communication more than... more than superman 64. I'm going to communicate so aggressively, so aggressively it hurts. COMMUNICATIONNNNN Yes, that's great. Now, time to get to work.
  5. So, ideas for getting more remixers on board? What is the primary reason this project has fallen through in the past? Is it cool to go around asking certain artists to join? Can we have casual Fridays?
  6. Really nice, love the underlying chiptune feel of it all too.
  7. Dear heavenly god... The launch sequence reminds me of Ikaruga, and that lighting effect when the cop cars come in is gorgeous. Take my money, all of it. EDIT: You know what would make the launch sequence even a little more epic? Putting some slow camera shake on the camera before takeoff. Would add some excitement and interest before takeoff. Just a thought.
  8. Only thing off the top of my head is to extend the submission duration. Bi or tri-monthly, maybe. In regards to bringing excitement back to the competition? I'm not really sure. I wish there was more participation.
  9. Are you going to re-do freeform submissions? I have something I want to submit.
  10. Hey, are you fluent enough in Japanese to translate some things into both spoken and written form? I have one or two projects on the backburner that might benefit from that.

  11. Cool. Is it possible to post links to the instrumentalists' audition material? I'd like to get a feel for what everyone's bringing to the table.
  12. Yay, so now I'm going to consider an arrangement and seek out a live instrumentalist. I'm thinking acoustic guitar, maybe piano. Violin would be nice, but I have no idea how to arrange them. Also need to figure out how to get more people on the boat for this project.. it's an iconic game, an iconic album to me, a very pleasant and unique OST to anyone. I'll be looking for supporters and referring them here. EDIT: And I'm considering "Battle 2" as a track. Not positive yet, but I really love that track.
  13. Happy bir-day. I always thought your name was the verbiest on OCR. Take that however you want.
  14. What genre would you call this? Hnnng, i dunno. Anyway, Airship η is an attempt to do away with old habits. My worst habit is being careful about sample choices for some things but not others. With this, I really tried to pick everything carefully. Any feedback on sample choices/EQ/Mastering would be great, because I'm struggling with all of those. thanks, without further ado... Airship Eta
  15. Finally a birthday for someone I know a bit. happy birthday, toothpuller. good job being a year older!
  16. In an uncharacteristically amazing feat of self-control, I am still not buying a 3DS even after the discount Just gonna gooooo... read a book y'all. Heck yeah... awesome
  17. This is going to be really embarrassing to explain to my roommate but nothing will stop me from buying this.
  18. Skies of Arcadia final battle: Final Fantasy III final battle: http://youtu.be/uYu3onZlpP0 Goemon, ghost robot battle: FF3 one took me totally off guard. It's weird, it's awesome. edit: added one for you, SonicThHedgog. kind of like the naruto one in style
  19. Well I played the first two chapters of Ghost Trick but I'm not sure I'm sold on it. It's a really likeable game, full of personality with awesome animations, but the gameplay isn't really gripping me. The most annoying thing is characters explaining things I could have figured out on my own. Why do they take 10 minutes to explain every little obvious thing? Does the game eventually leave you to your own devices and become more complex? Right now it's funny and cute, but that's about it.
  20. Good, then that's probably not why I keep losing followers. It's so deflating to lose 2 or 3 followers every time I post something >
  21. So the focus of these mixes has to be mainly on a live instrument? I can't play anything, unfortunately, so I might be out on luck unless there's a really dedicated collaborator somewhere.
  22. Orchestral is so far above me, but I still enjoyed this. It manages to be ominous but stays away from being too depressing. The only thing that threw me off was how the beat is constant. Like a new chord strikes on the downbeat, but there's nothing really moving in-between. That may be intentional for the ominous feel though, as it gives a "trudging" sort of rhythm to it. Reminds me a lot of something I'd hear in a well-produced JRPG, and for that I love it.
  23. Thanks, didn't use Vanguard though. It's a combination of Nexus, Massive, and magical8bitplugin. edit: Also, if anyone thinks a segment should be shortened or extended, that feedback would be appreciated. I can't tell when a section runs out its welcome since I've heard it so much myself while making it.
  24. I'm experimenting I was inspired by Nutritious' "The Unbroken" a bit. I also took cues from flashygoodness. Ever since Imposter Nostaglia, I was fascinated with how he mixes thick, loud layers and makes it sound buttery (instead of muddy) even though the sounds all run together. This was completely mixed on headphones so... sorry, I have no half-decent monitors :/ http://soundcloud.com/modusmusic/smile-for-the-machine
