  1. Wait, people use math!? I just learn what knobs effect what and experiment by ear. I can't do math. I can't do math!
  2. But hey, people must buy if they keep advertising it. I hate presets though. Feels dirty to use them.
  3. I dunno about that.. I'm more the kind of guy to give this sort of stuff away free. Maybe in five years if I make things that are actually difficult to recreate Zebra 2 is getting a lot of buzz though. I should tackle that after I'm done with Toxic Bio. Then Massive after that.
  4. I'm just starting to really dig into synthesis and having fun with it, so I thought it'd be cool for people to share their own progress and even post some presets. If you have a self-made library for a certain VST, I'd love to witness its powah. Right now I'm working with Toxic Biohazard. I felt inspired by Wipeout HD's music and realized that Toxic Bio has a lot of the same synthetic properties. I like what I've made so far, granted it sounds way better on my headphones than speakers Enuff - a bold sequenced synth Swing Batta - an off-kilter stabby sequence Lukewarm - another intense sequence (apparently so intense that the render doesn't sound quite as cool the original) Bwuh!
  5. Me, two years ago: " I WANT TO LEARN HOW TO REMIX LIKE YOU FOLKS AND GET POSTED!" Me, a month ago: "Dear god, I've never submitted anything.." Me, now: "I want to lay down a drum pattern that doesn't sound like an autistic monkey is playing it."
  6. Did you see my request in the MLP thread? Are you able to do something like that? Know someone that can? I can't do teh shading :[

  7. Ahh, polyphonic eargasm. So much good. There were a lot of requests for this game to be mixed. Glad you did this. I never know what to say to you besides praise. Someone else pick it apart.
  8. probably best sig on internet

  9. Daw, getting rid of that comment then >_> Continue..
  10. Wait, so are those your vocals or.. no? Because if it's not, then my comment on SoundCloud makes me look like an idiot. Whatever, this is good
  11. This sounds cool but squeezed and empty. The bass is what's bothering me most, not very clean. I think this could benefit from having a lead synth and a supporting one instead of using the lead for pretty much everything melodic. The arrangement is really, really cool, like I said. just needs cleaned up and dressed up.
  12. This is the first time I've used original synthesis. I used Toxic Biohazard because it seemed pretty simple. Lots of shiny buttons. So yeah lots of bad synth wankery. http://soundcloud.com/modusmusic/final-flight Feedback and criticisms appreciated.
  13. You know how to guitar.. and sing. Just wanted to say I really enjoyed it.
  14. Those are some complex soundscapes, love the high energy. Sounds really good. Me love 9bit.
  15. First off, I genuinely love your lyrics. The only line I don't understand is "Because Cerberus wasn’t the disaster I had to stray" So.. the vocals. I've heard a lot of rock growing up, and I think you need to really belt out those vocals. Even if you make tonal mistakes just rip it out and be confident in it. You have a lot of guts to do vocals, I could never even try it. It's really catchy, but feels under-energized to me.
  16. Wow, this is really clean and pretty. I love the stabby yet ethereal feel of it. The single thing that I can pick out is that I wish some of the soundscape feeling from the beginning was in the rest of the track, just kind of ebb it in and out to give it a pulse. That's just my personal style preference though. Still my favorite I've ever heard from you.
  17. More like welcome to creative license. It's ok to purposely break grammar rules for effect, unless you're a newspaper columnist or textbook writer.
  18. I'm surprised you think that. Besides some weird descriptions ("soft automaticity", "smell of ozone") I think it's decently written. It's just written in a very classic style.
  19. I thought he was just saying that he doesn't like superficial lyrics on his tracks, which he puts a lot of extra expressive effort into. It's like spending an entire day preparing the perfect ham dinner for your family, so everyone sits down and gets ready to eat, but then your obnoxious uncle comes in and says "you should put some ketchup on that shit, awww yea"
  20. oh my gosh, I love this man so bad.
  21. OK well it probably sounds more lifeless than it should because I haven't found a real guitarist for it yet. That's a sequenced guitar in there now. I also wanted it to be like the original in that it's themed background music, not melody-driven or anything. Regardless, I think the problem is my arrangement's boring. I'm re-arranging it pretty drastically to make it develop more quickly and have a better soundscape.
  22. What blows my mind is the guy has a paid membership account, so he takes himself seriously. I don't understand plagiarists/fakers. Never will.
  23. I'm trying to make this work for the SoA Remix project as a Town of Ice remix. Where it cuts off, I want to take the sequences from 0:45 in the and play through those next. Seems like the obvious thing I was building up to.Thanks for any tips. Track: Birth of Rhaknam WIP Source:
  24. That does it. You can't throw words like that around and expect brains to remain unexploded. I need you to notch down the vocabulary before people get hurt. Everyone without a Master's degree or higher please exit the argument. The area is unsafe.
