  1. Im curious if there is any particular method to officially representing OCR at a con, even if just as some sort of panel that discusses what OCR is, how it works and sharing some examples. Im assuming having at least one mixpost would be a plus( so people take you a bit more seriously). The reason Im curious is because I thought it would be fun to run a panel at Anime Detour, or another of the cons in the midwest area. The panel would inform as to what OCR is, what we do, how to get involved as a musician or supporter, and just general info about the group. It might be a year or so before I felt confident enough to run it, but I figure I may as well ask right now while the idea is fresh in my head.
  2. doesn't mean you can't make you own remix of it eventually there's like 800 remixes of schalas theme, so why not ?
  3. nope. by unreal, do you mean the fps game? i just thought it was some intense technospeak. it kindof blew me away.
  4. Im pretty sure there is not a true equivalent to the launchpad for FL because of the fact that its designed to work with a daw thats already optimized for live performing, and im not aware of an equivalent device for anything other than ableton. as far as i know you could: - get away with a drum machine (like an mpc) that lets you load samples - try to set up one of those drum pad midi controllers to launch samples in fl. i heard you could set up one to the drum rack, so maybe you can load one shot samples into the drum rack? - worst case, if youre just using a few samples in addition to other things, ableton lite is 99$ and you shouldnt be tooo creatively limited if youre just using loops and samples, and then just hit a few youtube videos to get the hang of using it. but im definitely no expert
  5. voted. ( i figure we post this same as with submissions?) good luck to everyone, it was a tough vote!
  6. i suppose if i dont know this by now, it doesnt matter, but what exactly does this sentence mean?
  7. i want to thank everyone for their feedback. i think its one of the most important aspects of these competitions. I do have one question for you. it seemed a common theme was that i needed to work on the lead sound a bit. what suggestions do you guys have for future compositions to make a lead more pleasant?
  8. it blows my mind that nobody mentioned touchosc. its a midi control interface app that you can customize. theyre a bit lazy with the app support for some phones, but if you can get it to work, its really nice, at least, in my opinion. maybe i just like gimmicky ways to interact with my daw, but its a pretty good app.
  9. i WAS thinking about trying to make a disco version of optimism, but i couldnt get a working midi file, and i realized i have no idea how to make disco.
