  1. So what im reading is that we are part of the Dracula bracket if we lose our first round? Id just like to clarify.
  2. Im gonna go ahead and pre-emtively say Im out for this round. I put in serious effort and ended up with only 30 seconds of intro.Sorry to shame all your hard work Wildfire. Im not gonna make excuses, i just wasn't able to figure it out.
  3. gonna be a rough entry for a rough couple of weeks! hopefully future rounds go a bit more smoothly.
  4. Gonna fly into new york and either drive or take a train to DC. So what im sayin is, if anyone in the NYC area wants to split a rental id be down. save miles on your car!
  5. Major thanks! On with the games! I didnt know it was 12/8 to be honest. I thought it was 4/4 at first and then my Daw claims its in 6/8. 12/8 sounds much less stressful to mix with 4/4 source material.
  6. Thanks, that helps alot! Ill spot you on some Elevation Burger or something at Mag.
  7. too bad there arent any midis of it floating around.
  8. Been thinking about it all week. Cant wait to see those pairings!
  9. Every time you think the movie cant get more ridiculous, it somehow does.
  10. I just saw this on netflix. didnt blow my mind, but I liked the art style!
  11. thats actually a kindof good idea for every round. having the video link right there in the post make it much more convenient to get an idea of what this round is all about.
  12. oh my buddha, this is heaven! so many good looking shows and movies in here!
  13. Im looking to find more cyberpunk or futuristic anime or even just animated films. I recently decided to watch Ghost in a shell and found it to be interesting. I also enjoyed Akira and Im a fan of Mirrors edge, so that should give you some idea of what im looking for. That said, what kind of recommendations, if any, do you guys have?
  14. Dont even know the source, but ill try to slap something together. Part of me wants to give it a serious go at competing in every PRC round, afterall, practice is how you improve.
  15. two weeks AND its castlevania? this one is gonna be great!
  16. I remember one of those Figure jam sessions from a few magfests back, it was a pretty fun setup! I like how IOS (and the few android apps) music apps have a more modular music making approach. I think FLmobile. Nanostudio and some of those other types of mobile DAWs were useful as practice tools for being on the go, but not for full on production. I can imagine if you had an idea for a chord progression or some other song element and you happened to use FLstudio that it would be useful to be able to import to mobile projects though. Maschine 2 surely would be useful for this function, especially with the ability to record field samples using just your phone.
  17. Sorry for the necro but Ive got a few updates for you guys. The first and most useful is the Studiomux app. it lets you run midi and audio through your usb cable, which effectively turns any of your music apps into viable external synths. You can also use your phone as an FX unit if you configure it properly. Next up is the Roli app. Its possibly the best freebie music app available. Im not sure if it runs on older phones, but your best experience will be on any of the 6s and onward phones due to the pressure sensitive screen. Its the best implimentation of the pressure sensitivity ive seen so far in any app. The sound quality is excellent and you can expand the sound bank if you so choose. Again, its a freebie, so grab it if youve got the 6s. Lastly, maschine 2! Ive yet to get ahold of it but the original maschine app was alot of fun for practicing drum patterns on the go and ive heard theyve really stepped up the actual music making capabilities. As with the original, this app lets you sync with your desktop maschine projects.
  18. For people who were curious about that intro synth, here are some screenies for you. Its all in the effects on this one really. a square wave run through a saw wave and then run through this. The Flanger exaggerates the stereo a little and makes things sound more interesting , but the Auto filter and erosion are what give it the almost voicelike quality. After that its just some saturation to warm it up, and then a sidechain compressor and beat repeat to add a little flair. heres what it sounds like without any fx, then with flanger, and then with the full stack of fx. http://picosong.com/E5Ui
  19. Theres bound to be some wild eyed remixer who could turn something listenable out of that source.
  20. AoS is my favorite castlevania! Such good gameplay and ost.
  21. Ok so about those picks! 1. Forbidden area - Aria of Sorrow 2. Sinking Old Sanctuary - Circle of the moon (although this one is in at least two other games I believe) 3.Inner Quarters - Aria of Sorrow 4.Cordova Town - Curse of Darkness
  22. Yesssss things are taking off! Somebody had to! Would be a shame if there weren't some classic sources.
