  1. I was actually listening to this soundtrack the other day! Really nice work, I would definitely enjoy chilling out to this after a hard days fighting monsters in the forest.
  2. This remix is amazing!
  3. Hey Rean, here's my first attempt at a Dune 2 remix: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?p=904825#post904825
  4. Hello OCR! I spotted a request for this tune in the requests section, and since Dune 2 on the Genesis / Mega Drive has a special place in my heart I decided to take it on. Here's what I came up with: Original: Mykah remix: https://soundcloud.com/mykah/dune2turbulence-33 Feedback is much appreciated as always my friends!
  5. I'm interested in attempting some Dune 2 Battle for Arrakis remixes. It's been so long since I played the Genesis version that I forgot how good the soundtrack is - like you say much better than the PC version! I'll see what I can come up with over the next few weeks
  6. Hey guys, here's another track from my Kirby EP. This time I reworked the music from the Halfmoon stage / Taking over the Halberd. https://soundcloud.com/mykah/halfmoon Thanks to DJ Cutman for mastering it, GameChops for releasing it, and Jun Ishikawa for creating the original!
  7. Wicked! Love the dubstep bit in the middle too!
  8. I've been a fan of King Dedede's music from the Kirby series for a long time - here's what I came up with when I decided to remix it: https://soundcloud.com/mykah/showdown-at-mount-dedede Big thanks to DJ Cutman for mastering it, GameChops for releasing it, and Jun Ishikawa for composing the original tune way back in 1992. Thanks for listening! - Mykah
  9. Loving this remix! The drums are sounding really punchy and fat. My only suggestions would be maybe have some cymbal crashes on each new segment such as at 0:40 and 2:22 to mark the drop and some sounds like swell fx or woosh noises prior to each transition - they wouldn't have to be very loud, just subtle extra sparkle for the song. Overall great work so far, looking forward to hearing the final tune.
  10. Yessss! I forgot about this one. Playing the game actually inspired me to visit Shibuya in the real world - so awesome!
  11. Some great suggestions on here! I did love the soundtracks of Bastion and Super Meat Boy. Skyrim I found good but a bit unmemorable - I guess I just find the orchestral stuff a bit samey. Mass Effect is an interesting one, because I loved the music from ME1, but they went a lot more orchestral in 2 and 3 which I think made it sound like every other epic game and not quite so space age as the mainly electronic style of the first game. Fez and To The Moon are both on my To Play list so I look forward to enjoying their soundtracks! That Radiant Historia tune sounds amazing for a Nintendo DS game, will definitely have to check that out. Reminds me of Chrono Trigger's soundtrack actually.
  12. The other day I was thinking about how game music has changed over the years, and I realised I can't think of that many games I have played recently with great soundtracks. I know there must be recent games out there with amazing soundtracks so I thought I'd create a thread about it. If you've played a game with an amazing soundtrack lately share it here!
  13. Really like this remix (loved the original tune too of course), my suggestion is it could all be a bit louder - but I'm sure that's just because it's not been mastered yet. I will be looking forward to hearing the mastered version, very much indeed!
  14. Wow, nice work man! I love what you've done with the synths at around the 1:25 mark. My suggestion would be to lower the volume of the synth at 0:30, it's a bit too loud I think. I'm just uploading my stems to dropbox so will PM you the links when they're up (not so fast on my rubbish slow net connection). Yeah, that's just the revision number lol, it's only the 3rd uploaded version. And moombastion? Genius!!!
  15. Ah great, I'll give that a try then. The latest version of the tune is here - just done some tweaking to the mixing and levels really, not done much with the arrangement just yet. That's coming soon though! http://soundcloud.com/mykah/scumbag-alley
  16. This is an excellent idea, I love old PC game music. I'm currently on / off working on a remix of a tune from Ultima Online - I wasted too many of my hours playing that game haha - it had awesome music though. Duke Nukem 3d is also on my list of games I want to remix and I really ought to update my System Shock 2 remix now my production skills have improved as well, but it wasn't really suitable for OCR as it relied heavily on sampling the original - it's always a tough one cause personally I often just kind of want an updated version of the original tune.
  17. @ CC Ricers, awesome dude, will sort out some stems tonight! I just checked out your moombahton remixes on Soundcloud, nice work man! @ Brandon Strader, yeah I realised now that this is sort of like a DJ edit and I should have made a more OCR friendly radio edit type tune, I seem to always make the mistake of uploading extended DJ versions of my remixes to OCR haha. I'll make a new version that's shorter without the long DJ friendly 32 bar intro (it's sparse because it's meant to be mixed over) and we'll try and put together a new collab version with the most of the sampled bits removed, see if we can come up with a suitable version for OCR
  18. Or you could send me some new samples to replace the original sampled bits. I've never done a collab before pretty new to how they work haha, sounds like a good idea though!
  19. Yeah, I kinda knew it would be using too much of the source for OCR, I just created this to be a version of the original I could play in my DJ sets really. Recreating the original instruments sounds really cool, I'll be interested to hear what you come up with Let me know if you'd like any of the stems from my version!
  20. I've made a bunch of the changes suggested, and generally tweaked and mixed this tune alot more. Here's a new link what do you guys think: http://soundcloud.com/mykah/scumbag-alley/s-1HiAQ
  21. This remix is inspiring! It's sounds like it could be used in an epic film adaptation of Sonic 3. Great job Beckett007!!!
  22. Thanks for the excellent suggestions guys. I'll get right to work on them!
  23. I made this moombahton remix of Bynn the Breaker from Bastion this weekend (love the music from this game). It's still a work in progress, any suggestions and comments are welcome! http://soundcloud.com/mykah/scumbag-alley-work-in-progress Thanks
  24. Last tune off my Zelda EP, this time a wobbley electro house rendition of the Dark World theme from Zelda 3: http://soundcloud.com/mykah/dark-world Thanks for listening to my tunes
