  1. You should be thinking more about the entry and less about the podcast PM me with your source selection and questions/ideas as soon as you can so we can get started.
  2. Musical goals: - Get at least 2 mixes on OCR - Place in upper half of at least one DoD - Improve guitar technique Other goals: - Get my bachelor's degree - Program my own VSTi synth - Start going to the gym at least 3 times a week - Stop being so lazy
  3. If more novices sign up, feel free to put me as a star. I also believe snappleman expressed interest in being a star back in the ep. 3 thread
  4. Almost anything from the Soukaigi OST: Here's an example:
  5. If you wanna go free, you could check some of the programs from this list: http://bedroomproducersblog.com/2011/05/16/bpb-freeware-studio-best-free-vst-host-applications/ I haven't used any of these but at least one should fit your requirements.
  6. Oh right I wanted to write what I think of the album yesterday but I forgot xD Anyway, I love the organic/synthetic combination, and the mood that the songs create is great. Recommended for everyone.
  7. Oh man, as soon as I heard that source I thought it would be perfect for a vocal remix in the style of "Up Where We Belong" ( ).If someone would make this I think I'd die from awesomeness.
  8. Huhu I haven't posted a new remix in the workshop for a couple of months, but I promise this one was worth the wait Source: Remix: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/93696675/clarity.mp3 I first heard this source yesterday and it was stuck in my head, so couple of hours ago I came up with an idea to remix it! Percussion is a bit repetitive, but will be improved when I complete the rest. The guitar playing has some mistakes (well, I did record this in 2 hours ), but I'll probably record everything again. I'm planning on expanding this to some 4 minutes in length. Feedback appreciated, as always!
  9. Signing up as a star again. I wanted to sign is as a novice this time but one of my mixes got accepted in the meantime so I guess I can't. XD My song choice is Vanishing Gungaroo from MMX7: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVsXTF8YSyA
  10. I don't think me and drevan are gonna have a track done, he kinda couldn't do much work on it and the rules don't allow me to build on his wip enough to make it completed... Sorry for this :/
  11. I'll be sending an almost finished WIP this evening - I wanted to have the track done this weekend but due to some unexpected circumstances I had very little time to work on it.
  12. This sounds good! The only nitpick I have is that the trumpets sound like they're sampled from the original (are they?). I also thought it will get repetitive but there's enough things that keep it fresh EDIT: btw, the source is from Trigger, not from Cross, so you might wanna change the title
  13. Won't open for me, it says something is wrong with my connection...
  14. The preview songs sound great! Can't wait for the full thing
  15. I've used T-Sledge on couple of mixes and it does the job pretty well, but I kinda don't like the interface and the fact it lacks those dB marks on the volume meters. The one I use the most right now is reaXcomp, a 4-band multiband compressor that comes with reaper. It's included in this free bundle: http://www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/ Another one I found only recently is Broadcast by Jeroen Breebaart: http://www.jeroenbreebaart.com/ I haven't used it much yet, but it looks fairly simple, and I was intrigued by those "side" and "amb" sliders.
  16. I had tons of fun doing a track for the free month, and I'm definitely coming back for Blizzard month! If anyone wants to hear my free month entry, I've uploaded it to youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbsImKpBbew Sort of a tribute to Yasunori Mitsuda. It's too medley-ish to be submitted to OCR so I probably won't be doing any more work on it, but I'm really considering the idea of expanding the individual bits into standalone remixes
  17. I have a feeling there could never be too many stars, so I'd like to sign up as a star too. I guess having songs on a couple of future albums gives me a good enough qualification. My preferred genre is rock/hard rock, though I'm open for all sorts of genres. I have a guitar and a bass at my disposal, if anyone who's paired with me needs some recordings. DAWs I use are FL Studio and Reaper, but having those wouldn't be a requirement for collaboration since I'd prefer working with wavs/midis rather than project files.
  18. I think I'd have an awesomeness-induced heartattack if that ever happens.
  19. You got your wip couple of days ago Jokes aside, I have plenty of free time during the next few months (college kinda got a lot easier this year) so I'll try to complete all my project tracks before new year
  20. I missed the last deadline but I think I'll even finish my track before the current one
