  1. Wow, shit's great!! Right up my alley, I'll definitely be drawing mega inspiration from this. Glad I checked it out, and thanks for sharing it man. Stellar stuff from some very talented individuals. pH
  2. Hell yeah! Weird description, but fitting. This is badass, can't wait for the album to drop pH
  3. There's no greater experience than listening to this song while cooking buffalo chicken and drinking peach soda. This mix makes me feel so goddamn good it's stupid. Excellend work Bun Breggs
  4. I read this as "public masturbaters"... needless to say, I was disappointed upon closer examination. Ah well, happy birthday fellas!!
  5. Yo folks, just polished a piece up from the summer. Not sure if I want it on my EP or not, give it a listen and let me know what you guys think! Resolute pH
  6. This is super helpful, thanks man, I really appreciate you taking the time to reply. This album has REALLY grown on me, by the way. The only reason I haven't bought it yet is because I don't have much money to spare and you deserve more than the $2 minimum from me. I'm spreading the word though, hopefully it'll boost sales a bit pH
  7. I wish Tommy the best in all his endeavors. You, however, Mr. Shnab, don't appear to need it. Amazing work, as usual
  8. Well done! What sound libraries do you use? They're really high quality, and I've always wanted to do more orchestral stuff, but struggle with my current setup.
  9. I'd go down on that. I mean, I'd go in on that. I mean, something else sexual that gets my point across
  10. I guess it'd help if there was a link, huh... http://www.box.net/shared/j2gcc6s7vn5mrklmmu6i
  11. Wow, unbelievably helpful thread, and it seems I've found it just in time. I wouldn't be upset if people wanted to keep posting here pH
  12. Lol that surprised fellow is muckin' up the link! Hahahahahaha. Get him outta there so I can listen! pH
  13. Hey everyone I have a plan to launch a big artist campaign for myself in the coming months, with this initial EP being the first step. This track, Reflections of a Schizophrenic will be the opener of my Insanity Suite, which will be comprised of 4 pieces. I intend to release the EP with 2, maybe 3 of the tracks from the suite, as well as some additional originals. I'm going to put out an album a few months after the release of the EP, with the Suite being the focus (and title) of the album, as well as numerous other originals. I'd LOVE to get everyone's thoughts on the piece, and feedback as well. Feedback on the piano is especially welcome, as I try to stay away from sequenced piano, but the instrument fits the part so well that I can't bring myself to change it. On the flip side, I feel like my sequencing skills have improved a lot recently, but even so, I'd like to know what you all think. On a side not, the levels on the drums in the intro (which appear from :31 to :46) dropped significantly, which I plan on fixing, but for now I'd just like to see what everyone thinks. So, let me know how it sounds!! Many thanks pH
  14. Sexeh. Arrangement it super solid so far, and Song of Storms doesn't really NOT fit into anything... good choice on that one too. Love all the ultra minor stuff and dissonance. No productional complaints thus far, keep it going! pH
  15. So it wasn't just the preview, you guys LITERALLY had nothin, huh. Hahaha. I'm sure it'll be righteously rectified in due time
  16. I F$&!ING LOVE CHARGE MAN!! The soundscape feels really thin, and there's a lot that could be added harmonically. and oddly enough I was pretty ok with the samples EXCEPT the square you used haha (on a second listen, the high brass could use some work or replacement). The drums are VERY static, I'd recommend some variation, more bass drum, and some cymbals in thar. Filling out the drums should fatten up the atmosphere a bit too. Also, the structure seems very similar to Charge Man (and if you just had a cover in mind as opposed to an arrangement, that's totally cool), I think mostly because you've got the staggered arpeggios going throughout the whole piece. Maybe change up the arrangement a bit, and find some bits where you can use just the Wily 1 tune. It mashes up with Charge Man really well (I know both sources to a reasonable degree, I grew up on the GB Mega Man), but when you've got those arps going the whole time, the arrangement gets a bit stagnant. Also, some of the alternating violin/tuba bits feel really weird; take a look at those and do some doctoring where you feel it's necessary. Keep it going, I'd love to see what happens with this pH
  17. fuck me it's cold in here Edit: Goddammit, my caps isn't working... I'm a lot angrier than I appear, but you can't tell. Because I have no capitals OH OK NOW IT WORKS DERP
  18. Would this be title music or something? Sounds good. It reminds me of Rayman for whatever reason. My only critique would be the addition of a stronger melody, but I've said time and time again, I'm a melody addict, so if that's not what you're going for, don't worry about it. If you ever need additional musical input for future games, I'd be happy to help out Also, the word "addition" needs to be added again (another addition, if you will). Addition pH
  19. Thanks guys! I'm planning on putting out an EP soon, debating whether or not I want this on there. Stay tuned for more shit from me pH
  20. I am are teh contribyoot With any luck, I'll be changing this from the inside in a few years. My ultimate goal is to write for video games, and I guarantee I'd do my best to make sure none of this forgettable junk would be coming from me. We need more memorable themes. Newer technology doesn't mean melody has to die...
  21. Unfortunately, a lot of new soundtracks are moving further and further away from melody, tonal hooks, or chordal complexity and more and more toward that (stupid) "epic" feeling; the listener won't take anything away from it, and the tunes won't get stuck in your head like they did when we were playing Pitfall or Tekken 2 or Mega Man X. That's why you don't see any Call of Duty mixes up here. I won't say that there's no new music worth remixing, that's not what I'm getting at, but a huge portion of it wouldn't really produce anything memorable, imo. But then again, I'm a melody addict. Anyway, I'm trying to stay away from sources (and games) that have been remixed to oblivion for the time being. My plan is to bring to light all the games that I grew up on that've been passed over thus far (I'd give examples, but I can't have anyone stealing my mix ideas now can I ;P )
  22. Yeah man, this is sweet so far, really relaxing. As such, it might be a better call to switch out the clap for claves (which might be buried in there already, if my ears don't deceive me). This would also mesh insanely smoothly with the Song of Healing from Majora's Mask, if you're looking for another source to flesh it out, but then again I'm a person who enjoys putting multiple sources together. Your call. Write more! pH
  23. Hey man, thanks a load for pointing out all the hot spots on my new mix; and I'm thrilled you enjoyed it so much! I'll have to get it subbed soon, after a couple more VERY minor tweaks. Thanks again for helpin' me out (and stay tuned, haha)!
