Also, Nintendo has always been garbage at 3rd party, since the N64. Look at this list of top-selling Wii games. The first 3rd-party game is Just Dance 2, at #16. Then Just Dance 1 at #18, with rest appearing en masse at #27+. People don't buy Nintendo consoles for 3rd-party games, and haven't done so since the SNES. Once the Wii U has Zelda, Smash Bros., DKC, and Mario Kart, it'll be in a much better position. Add new Paper Mario, Metroid Prime, and Kirby games, and everyone will forget the doomsaying ever happened. The Wii U will never be another Wii, but if it's another N64 or Gamecube, that'll be good enough.

If I may suggest, the Beginner Race from Marble Madness has a similar rhythm to Marble Zone, although the bass line of the Silly Race has some similarities to Marble Garden. They'd actually mesh quite nicely. Funny, I listened to Endless Mine for the first time just to see if I could hear what you meant, and it immediately sounded to me like a sad song of lost love, if you slowed it down by just a few BPM.

That is pretty cool indeed. There are some melodic parts where the strings are in the uncanny valley range (too mechanical to sound real, to real to sound intentional) and should probably be glitched up/filtered a little. And if you're using the actual source for the choir, that's of course a no-no. But otherwise I'd love to see this turned into a full remix.

Well, I have next to no theory either, but I heard one sour note at 4:22, and the bell arp starting at 4:44 felt off, too.Overall it was one helluva solid entry, so don't feel bad at all.

I only hear piano and bass except for 1:43-1:53, when I just barely hear guitar playing the exact same part, pitch, and timing as the piano, and 2:16-end when it finally breaks free. Ending is kind of abrupt. Otherwise, it's simple but effective and enjoyable.

If Metal Man's suggested hardware doesn't work, you could use: 1) A 3.5mm headphone splitter (intended to use two headphones on one jack, chained to: 2) Two 3.5mm to RCA stereo adapters, resulting in two Left ends with sound and two Right ends without, chained to: 3) An RCA to 3.5mm adapter, taking the two Left RCA's as input. Stupid, and will result in the volume being halved, but it would absolutely work.

18 seconds of a 3-minute track (10%) seems about right. Maybe 15% as an upper limit.

Fun stuff. I personally found the off-beat LFO on the lead from 0:40-1:42 to be distracting and irritating, but otherwise I thought this was an entertaining take on the source. I do agree with earlier commenters that there seem to be some overlapping frequencies, but I'm not an expert.

Capcom is awesome that way, and give a lot of support to fan remixers. I know they officially sponsor Mega Ran, and they're certainly aware of all the other Mega Man bands.Covers and remixes are an interesting legal area. Interesting tidbit I got from Tommy Tallarico: at the first Video Games Live concert, they did One-Winged Angel performed by an improvisational pianist and 3 operati. It was pretty bad (especially having just followed the More Friends concert, a few blocks away and a week or two earlier, which did One-Winged Angel with the L.A. Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir and the Black Mages). But the reason they went with such a crappy arrangement was that SquareEnix refused to give them the rights to the orchestral arrangement. I'm not sure what the legal distinction is there, but apparently there is one.

There's a sort of "squashed" note at 1:38 that needs fixing. Otherwise this sounds good to make the cut!

Listened to the Flimbo's Quest source on YouTube. It was catchy, so I took its suggestion that I listen to the third track of the OST. Wow, a 2:00 source from a C64 game! And that led me to find Machinae Supremacy's cover of the song... so thanks for the suggestion, OneUp!

That may be facetious, but I'm actually not very familiar with that series. I'll say that if the main point of the game is to drive fast, then it qualifies. If being fast isn't necessarily important, as in, say, Euro Truck Simulator (by my understanding), then no.
