Yeah I get that. I get cool ideas that seem like no other music I know and then they disappear. I don't want to double or triple thread but I have a few other questions. 1. field recorders $100-$200 What is good? I get very mixed reviews on everything ("this is highly durable"/"it broke on the first day") 2. sampling. I like to record my friends saying funny stuff on FL Mobile. But my computer is terrible at allowing me to extract those files, so what should I do if I want to upload recordings? Also, where can I find audio clips of voices (Ex: SFX of Link yelling when he swings his sword)? Sorry if this isn't allowed, but I think spamming three threads right now would be even messier.

I have this problem quite frequently where I sit down and want to make a tune but don't really know where to start. I have a decent amount of tools but it can take a long time to even get a basic loop done. How do you guys get ideas?

Standout percussion for sure. The rest isn't really for me.

I'm not one for jazz/funk, but this has a nice laid-back feel to it.

Samples are a bit weak and on the simpler side, but that phasing is nice and gives it a relaxing vibe

This certainly nails a hellish atmosphere. I really like the metallic percussion and all the SFX were nice as well.

I like the mood shift in that last section; it really added some flavor. I say it turned out very good.

Since it seems like the opinion is that I'm quitting. I spent a chunk of the time running around until I found that stupid clearly-in-plain-sight drainage valve. It took me even longer to actually find where the dang key went. Boss fight was tense, ending was trippy. And after all that running around, I really didn't feel like finding a path to the church.

Yeah, the one "out of reach".

Those transitions. I mean that in a good way. Unique and interesting for sure.

It sounds robotic and I think there's more "stuff" that could be added (miscellaneous percussion, chanting, etc). It's a decent start.
