  1. I plan on casting my vote soon, I apoligize in advance if it looks wonkey...
  2. Went to checkout the chat and I can't get it just an Error(500) message , Anorax said I should check it out. I'm off the grid for the next 10 days and using my phone for my internet connection, only 3Gb of data so I gotta make it last...on the upside I find myself not staying up till 3am watching endless YouTube and Netflix videos......so I got that going for me, which is nice
  3. Ok, Submitted. Quick wrap up of this week's round... Step 1) I have no idea what to write Step 2) I hate what I've written Step 3) Ok I fixed it, sounds good Step 4) Best. Track. Ever.
  4. It's good to see some optimism this round, but I think I'll always prefer your earlier remixes Flexstyle.
  5. YoshiBlade- Team Zero Treble Cloud Hopping (Spiral Pegacion in X-Hunter Stage 1 [X2]) (Don't Wanna) Hurt You (Gravity Beetle in X-Hunter Stage 1 [X2]) Caffeine Shoveling Hunter Turtloids (Rainy Turtloid in X-Hunter Stage 1 [X2])
  6. I'm not going to quote all of Neblix, but do yourself a favor and Spoil some of the details and read it, he's really on point....Good form Smee, Good form! I really think that the Souls series is the portent of what modern story telling ( note: not strictly video game story telling, but story telling in general) can accomplish when the relatively new medium of art (Video Games), realizes that a game is not a book or movie, but a distinct form of art, sharing some origins with film and literature, but needing to convey the plot in other, less established ways than explicit dialogue or framed visual cues. I really think we are witnesses to the evolution of a medium of art, like in the early years of film when people thought cinema was just moving pictures under the same category of photography, but it diverged into it's own subsection of art as a whole.
  7. ^^^ This is truth, well put Going back to an earlier statement I made, "It's hard to believe I'm the Savior of the World, simply cause I was the first to press this very large button in the middle of the town square, with the neon sign over it that says "PRESS HERE" A story isn't going to be laid at your feet in any sort of immersive environment, and this is where the Souls series excels, it draws you in by allowing you to piece together the fragments of the story and draw your own conclusions.
  8. I was debating this myself 2 days ago. If an artist uses minimal details to convey a story, does that translate to a lack of forethought and structure or rather does it allow for a deepening of the story by having the participant project themselves in to the art. Both of the paintings below depict Icarus, but they do it in different ways. The Matisse is less detailed, but without the hangups of what Icarus looked like or where he was flying it allows the viewer to have a deeper connection to the story of Icarus, maybe even capture what the more detailed painting eschews in favors of greater visual cues? It's all relative so each of has to make our own call and I don't think anyone is right or wrong, just what we do with the experiences the art provides, that's what counts.
  9. It's seems strange to question whether DS3 will be unduly influenced by Bloodbourne. Mr. Miyazaki has created some of the best games I have ever had the pleasure of playing and with regard to the Souls ( and I suppose the Bloodbourne) its rare to find a game nearly beyond reproach, with regards to story, gameplay, graphics and presentation, especially when dealing with sequels and the expectations they create ( ok the corpses that get tangled in you character is the only real criticism that I could level) He has demonstrated his commitment to the principle of continual improvement and I have little fear DS3 is going to be anything less than stellar.
  10. I commiserate with you good Sir_Nuts. This is maddening I've been pressing the key for the better part of 2 hours, but each time it feel like the only sound is a buzzer saying "WRONG!"......Is inspiration something that works of it's own accord or can you get it to bend to your will? I feel like I've been marooned by my creative faculties and now I gotta figure a clever way to build a boat, then get some wind in my sails.
  11. It seems like this is fast becoming Bloodbourne vs DS2, but I just wanted to say that because of this thread, I started up DS2 again. I think its the fluid transition between online functionality and story that makes the souls series soooo satisfying to play. I was playing last night and when another player trespasses in Door of Pharos, I actually feel like they're trespassing in my game and must dispatch them with prejudice. I am patiently awaiting another trip in to the abyss with DS3...PS3 version plz ?
  12. Oh boy, ok..... bout to reveal my noobieness here but, what Maverick source tune does each individual remixer now remix? We just cleared out the 3 Maverick theme for each team so what's next? Do we redo the one's we were assigned? Help! I've never played/watched any sport so I have no idea how drafts work and I would have raised my hand in the beginning of the class, but I was too nervous!
  13. YoshiBlade - Team Zero Treble MMMDop (Slash Beast in Doppler Stage 1 [X3]) Red Shifting Drift (Boomer Kawanger in Doppler Stage 1 [X3]) Tropical Relaxation Method (Cyber Peacock in Doppler Stage 1 [X3])
  14. (Sigh)......a new nostalgia cash in with Disney's latest corp of scientifically formulated tween stars.....this is just outrageous.....truly, truly, truly outrageous...
  15. This is why the Souls series is great, you will break before the game. Too many games simply surrender progress to the adventurer and in doing so I no longer feel like I'm on an adventure. In any believable fantasy world, the deeds must match the legend. It's hard to believe I'm the Savior of the World, simply cause I was the first to press this very large button in the middle of the town square, with the neon sign over it that says "PRESS HERE" In the Souls series, despair is palatable emotion and a necessary one for immersion into the story.
  16. The Souls series has kindled my love of games over the past 6 years. I’m not sure why this series feels so refreshing, but I could venture a few guesses 1) The cold meditative aura that permeates every corner of the world is punctuated by the absence of music or the eerily minimalist compositions that do appear. 2) The sense of permanence from your actions, anger a character or kill them and that is what will be till the end of the game. Lose 20,000 souls after a boss fight and don’t retrieve them? So it goes…You’ re still alive, but at a great loss, no loading an old save files ( at least not for me) 3) The gameplay makes me feel linked to the controller in a way that feels fluid and natural, roll, tuck hit, roll, half moon grass, dodge, roll 4) The difficultly makes you analyze each move, the bosses feel like a boss should feel, they destroy you when you first meet them, and with each subsequent loss it feels like this is one of those games that is going to go unfinished, but by some miracle you fell them and it feels like “ How did I do that?” I don’t recall a boss battle where I had them sussed in a few fights, each one was a hard fought victory, equal parts skill and luck. 5) The online functionality is one of the most ingenious uses of the technology to further the story, Ghost hunt your gaming sessions…..I…love…it

  18. Is Google Drive an acceptable way to transmit a submission? I've found for sending Wav. files it's pretty good.
  19. I just noticed how Splash Warfly looks like he's angrily waiting for his ride home..."They said they'd be here by NINE"......ok, enough shenanigans back to work.
  20. Never have I been so proud to place a seahorse on the lower part of my user name....tears....must not.....let them fall.....
