  2. Are you guys interested in spreading out work to lower the load on Larry / DJP? There are many things you guys do exclusively that you probably don't need to. Just like there are things judges do that don't involve judging, like making the judgement threads, downloading and hosting the mp3s, updating the decisions thread (sometimes ).. there's something in there that could be done by a volunteer to speed up the process. Judge goes to work and thread + mp3 is already available and out of the inbox? Faster. And Larry is focusing on the new torrents and tagging, the twitter, project obligations, any number of things that could be done by a volunteer or several volunteers to get stuff done sooner and more efficiently. I don't know what you guys need that would help speed up progress with the site but I'm interested in helping. I was going to volunteer to make project OCR template websites before you guys changed the standards and made it so the directors are responsible for their own site.
  3. If your music is full enough your VBR1 will average around 256/320 anyway To make VBR1 mp3 files, you need WinLAME
  4. IT'S YOUR FAULT THEY KEEP NO'ING IT ANYWAY LOL

I FIXED ALL THE ISSUES THEY HAD SEVERAL TIMES! THEY MAKE MORE ISSUES UP!

i guess that just goes to show

    THE PANEL HATES CHERNABOGUE! NOOOOOOO!

  5. Naturally my first encounters with CS:GO must be full of wetness. Amphibious all around, and maybe a bit of The Wettening in the background... mmm... yessss... well maybe just Amphibious. That's enough wetness.
  6. So Counter-Strike Global Offensive comes out tomorrow. I'mma have it. I vote that an OCR Server should be established and people shouldst play the game. No offense to whoever runs it, I am merely excited AND I FEEL THAT PEOPLE SHOULD PLAY THIS GAME
  7. Why you singing through your nose!??!??!?!?? Happy birthday, Stevo!
  8. They made it sound like inferno was worth playing because you'd get better items... I mostly got level 55 items in inferno up through act 2. Bunch of bull... haven't played in soo long. :3
  9. Making it auction house early on was nefariously brilliant. Who knows how much cash they've made with that. Especially with the bit of duping that went on. Those Stormshields can sell for $250 a pop.
  10. Well it started as an idea for posting all of the album tracks (5 each monday for example) then it kinda evolved into an idea for how to do albums on youtube. I kinda went off of a tangential rant. Sorry. I also think it would be good to space out mixposts by about 2 or 3 hours instead of posting them all at once. I know djp can write the writeups in advance and then just flip a switch on each one after the previous has had a couple hours of time on its own.
  11. Are you starting a new kickstarter or trying to revive the closed one?
  12. I think it'd be more effective if the initial album floods either include everything, or the additional tracks follow particularly close to the initial flood with maybe just a short break. That could get crazy with albums like DKC3 that have probably 30 songs passed, but if you had a 5 song flood say, every Monday, that would work. People would know it was coming because it would adhere to a basic schedule which would also be helpful for the songs to get noticed. When you post multiple songs at once, it's a popularity contest -- people will listen to the game they recognize... If it's 5 mixposts from the SAME game/album, the only "popularity bias" would be people listening to their favorite remixer over other ones, but I think peoples' taste in remixers can be a bit more diverse than their taste in games, if that makes sense. Like if you're posting Chrono Trigger and Big Nose the Caveman at the same time, I can almost guarantee you people are gonna go for CT. But if you post 2 CTs there's a solid chance people will listen to both mixes, even if one is durth murtul. I could be wrong but I've seen songs posted from an album much, much later, and I never thought it was really that effective in getting people to check out the album. 'Omerta' was just posted to the OCR Youtube and someone there hadn't heard it and didn't know about the album. On Youtube there's no obvious information that informs people about albums. You guys used to have special album posts in addition to any mixposts on youtube, but that is also not effective because you usually flood the entire album at once. To quote a wise prophet of the digital age, . It would probably be more effective to simply upload the entire album as a SINGLE youtube video, and use the same template for any mixposts that come out -- it'd be different from the template used for other mixposts, but that's the point. It'd let people know it is DIFFERENT, it's from an album, and there's more where that came from. Here's a good way that I've seen an entire album on youtube, with time stamps for each song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOBZjUHTibw OCR's youtube is probably already sms verified for videos over 15 minutes Just some suggestions for some observations I guess Hope any of these ideas help.
  13. To Be Judged is also somewhat problematic right now. If you consider they get 100+ submissions per month, probably considerably more, and they're 2 and a half months behind... that's a lot. But they've really sped up over the last few days and the TBJ list is getting shorter and shorter, so hopefully things can pick up quite a bit.
  14. I can't 'code' at all but I always want to help the site. I just wait and see if something easier than coding pops up.. Just to add, I think the wait between submission and posting is the most discouraging thing about still producing music for the website. It might take 1 or 2 years (granted some may be posted sooner). My song is one of the oldest to be posted, not including Lemmings which can't be posted. I can understand why mine hasn't gotten posted I guess because it's not a particularly common style on ocr and now it's pretty old. It was one of my first mixes that pre-dates the Teen Agent album. I don't see the problem really being that there's too many submissions or the judges are too slow, I think the main thing is that, to keep up with the current load, one song posted every 2 days consistently will help whittle it down in time. This would improve the quality of the OCR posts and prevent people from getting inconsistent results by which I mean something getting posted to the front page that isn't as high quality as something being NO'd. It'd make the site be fresh rather than posting year-old music once the queue was caught up to.
  15. And newer stuff does get posted sometimes even though there are songs from 2010 waiting. And 2 mixes shouldn't be posted at the same time, one always gets hidden by the other. Should be 1 mix per day.
  16. An hour long queue, what is this a theme park? And we gotta pay for Mann Co server? Why not just let people who, you know, bought the game instead of playing for free, have access to it? Meh.
  17. OC ReMix saved my life. Thank you, OCR!
  18. Just make sure you keep an eye on the support ticket, those guys mark them as solved without saying anything sometimes.
  19. It's amazing how well a quick deadline can get you to work. Good luck ya'll.
  20. I have a question, hopefully it won't be taken the wrong way by anyone or cause any speculation~ Is SE looking at any of our public information during these debates? Like are they reading this thread or other threads, checking our forum or artist profiles, or listening to the FF content on the site?
  21. Haven't you heard, FF-based kickstarters mysteriously get canned :-P

  22. requiem will pass someday

They didn't judge the album version

There was some kind of mixup somewhere

Gonna try to get the album version in for voting

if they no THAT, then maybe they'll realize that someday they better yes it because i'm not going to stop until either i'm dead or they quit

  23. fix it fix it fix it
