  1. It doesn't work unless the folders are all in the root. This looks good though. Swedish, too Thanks to the rest of you, too!
  2. Hello Does anyone know of a good, free program that can make iso (or other image) files from files and folders on your hard drive? I've looked around a bit and the closest I got was one called imageburn. It, however, didn't allow you to select several folders at a time and add them all to your image - you had to do it one folder at a time. The disc I wanted to burn has about 2000 folders in its root, so it wasn't really working for me... so - any suggestions? Is there a trial version of Nero that you can use indefinitely, but with reduced functionality, or something?
  3. Ahhh... ok. Of course. I couldn't find a way to cut up clips and didn't know what the razor was for - I should have made the connection. You'd probably understand bits and pieces if you went on a Swedish forum, but not enough to actually be able to participate in the discussion. Anyway, so you do notice there's something funny about the Reason documentation. How embarassing, haha
  4. Wow, compare this to your new stuff. Haha It's not that bad, but I just came off listening to "Rolling Start" and this was kinda disappointing in comparison. You should do another track from this game.
  5. Wow, this is sounding very good for an orchestral piece. Try some themes from Twilight Princess, next time
  6. Yay! Disco Dan! I thought I'd had enough of remixes of this song, but I guess I was wrong.
  7. Wow, yeah. Rayza's mix is pretty phat, hehe Btw, the front page looks like fun for the first time in a long time - lots of new mixes from games I know. Hey, what's the razor tool for? I can't find any mention of it in the help contents...
  8. Thanks. I've read up on Zircon's description of compressors, and it's amazingly satisfying to turn the knobs and suddenly know what they do. His tutorial doesn't mention sidechaining, however. Anyone care to explain what it can be used for? Like, an example I could listen to? Also, being Swedish, I constantly worry that Propellerheads will make mistakes when writing in English. A lot of the time when reading the manual, I keep thinking to myself "omg, this sentence is so written by a Swede". Does anyone else notice anything strange or am I just being paranoid? (note that I realize my English isn't perfect, either)
  9. Fair enough. I didn't really listen to the wip, but I did notice that the bass seemed to be playing random notes.
  10. Can't hear it for all the sound effects.
  11. No, when he says out of tune, he means that the piano notes are playing somewhere in between 2 bass semitones. An A on the piano sounds like something in between an A and an Ab (or between an A or an A#) on the bass. Listening to a piece of music where this is the case is generally rather unpleasant. Pitch the piano so that it's in tune.

    Ski or Die

Wait... what system? Is there a chiptune? EDIT: Listening to the NES soundtrack now. It's kinda catchy...
  13. I'd like some robotech avatars, myself.
  14. I'm dying to remix something but can't think of what. Do record and upload it.
  15. You're really helpful for a Dan Hibiki. Keep it up! Zircon's tutorial is awesome, I know I read if a few years ago but back then I didn't even know what he was talking about. I think I kinda get it now. I just need to play around with it until I get a feel for it, but at least now I'm not walking in the dark.
  16. Are my earlier comments being ignored for a reason or were they just not noticed among the rest? I had some questions before that, while I can understand they might not be important enough to answer in the actual guidelines document, I'd still like to know what the staff has to say about. http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showpost.php?p=311874&postcount=24 http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showpost.php?p=329810&postcount=35
  17. What you said about EQ is basically what I said about EQ, only you provided some solutions - ones that I unfortunately didn't really understand. The real issue, I guess, is how to EQ something and make it come out more by boosting its signature frequencies when these obviously change whenever you change the pitch of the instrument, like you said. How do you cope with this? Do you automate the EQ settings and give each knob on it a track of its own? Looking forward to some basic tutorial on compression and limiting.
  18. Hnuh... did you make this patch? I forgot the vocoder could be used as a spectrum analyzer, silly me... I'm sure this will be useful. Thanks a lot!
  19. Yeah, I thought so too - I'll probably get used to it in a while. I just don't see the point.
  20. Hello. I've been using Reason for a year or so now after sticking with midi all my life, and I still don't get this EQ part of it. As I've had it explained to me, if too many instruments are playing simultaneously on the same frequencies, they're going to mud up the soundscape. What I do now is just boost everything because, well, everything is being muddied up by something else and when you were still making midis the only way to make an instrument more audiable was to make it louder. With Reason, I understand the key to making a song sound good is to EQ every instrument to have its own range of frequencies that no other instrument is using. The problem here is - how do I know what frequencies each instrument is using, and how do I know which frequencies to fade out in order not to get a muddy soundscape? Also, whenever I fool around with EQ on an instrument, it sounds different than it did from the beginning (duh). How do you puzzle the instruments together in the soundscape so that each one of them keeps to its own range without altering the percieved sound of each instrument? I'm totally in the dark here. Someone help? I'd also very much appreciate it if someone would be kind enough to explain how compressors and limiters work, because I think I know what they do but not how to turn the knobs to make them do what I want them to.
  21. Can someone tell me what the deal is with this stupid new sequencer? Why do you have to use clips? Can you turn them off somehow and get everything back to normal? I really don't see the point in having to select and open up a clip in order to edit its contents, or being unable to copy a few notes from a longer clip into somewhere else without either splitting the clip or selecting and opening and then copying the notes you wanted... seriously, the sequencer is so much more complicated and difficult to use now. Why did they change it? I'm guessing it has to have benefits or else they wouldn't have changed it, but all I see is the downsides...
