  1. I thought they were original tracks. My bad. To clarify: - Remixer dude arranges original track - All contestants sing (or rap) over said song with original lyrics - Peoples vote and winnar is you. Gold star etc
  2. In the past, what happens is: - Remixer dude writes original song - All contestants sing (or rap) over said song with original lyrics - Peoples vote and winnar is you. Gold star etc so no, you won't be singing over a remix, and no, the source tune won't have vocals. of course this is possibly subject to change.
  3. I feel ya, man, but at least you're still the first page of google results for sephfire. I'm seriously considering changing my handle here as well, thanks to Naruto and Bleach. A few years ago, you could search for suzumebachi and the first 2-3 pages would all be my stuff. A few months ago, you could search for suzumebachi and the first 5 or so results would all be my stuff. Today you search for suzumebachi and the very first result is a wikipedia article on some obscure Bleach character. Also, there's the whole, I'm not a weaboo thing. But like Dave pointed out, changing is bad for recognizability and searchability. And since you're still quite searchable, I'd think twice about changing it at this point. You can always use a different name for side projects and stuff.
  4. Ballads are fine, but I don't think they work so well as intros, which the Mt. Dedede piece is intented to be? Correct me if I'm wrong.
  5. Operating system: Microsoft Windows 98/98SE/Me/2000/XP Processor: 800 MHz 128 MB RAM Video adapter 1024×768 or better video resolution in High Color mode DirectSound-compatible sound card 100 MB free disc space
  6. In Cubase are you sure you have your ASIO drivers selected? Also, keep in mind some VSTs are very poorly coded and thus have extraneous latency (like every Spectrasonics VST ever).
  7. Sweet mother of necro posts. Also, doug, where the hell is the OCR v3?
  8. I second building your own computer. It's not nearly as hard to do as you'd think, and is pretty self explanatory. If you're still nervous about DIY though, one thing you could do is shop around your local computer parts places for barebones kits and start with one of those. Also, stay the hell out of Best Buy/Comp USA/etc (unless you're going in for a specific part and they have it on sale or something).
  9. at the risk of sounding like a complete and total jackass, there's no quicker way to get remixers to NOT follow any of your requests than to give them 200 at once.
  10. for the love of god do not use tables. CSS please, for humanity's sake. also if your CSS is showing up incorrectly in one browser over another, you're doing it wrong. unless that browser is IE. but sorry, writing sites specifically for archaic non-conformist piece of shit browsers is against my religion.
  11. I think really awful song choices has hit PRC pretty hard. Also school just started for everyone and stuff.
  12. holy crap. thank you for bumping this, i missed it the first time around.
  13. I'm gonna do my damnedest to be there this year. MAGFest or die trying.
  14. Actually now that I recall, Guitar Center was selling off all their used, b-stock, and blemished Motif 6 ES workstations for around $800-900 not long ago (it was right around when Yamaha first released the XS series). They might all be gone now, but if you manage to track one down, silverwolf, definitely pick it up.
  15. I could be the voice of a bad guy or something.y/n. it would be in english, of course, but you get the general idea
  16. Nope. ViewSonic LCDs (and most LCD monitors for that matter) automatically adjust the picture, so there's no controls for that sort of thing.
  17. Oh so very, very wrong. ModPlug and FamiTracker both support MIDI keyboards.
  18. There's no real workstations within that price range man. The X50 is nice, but it's not really a workstation. The closest you're gonna get is the Alesis Fusion 6HD (~$1000 USD), which has a 80gb hard drive, 8-track hard disk recording, 24-bit sampling, and a 32-track sequencer. And there's also the Korg TR61 (~$1000 USD) that's basically an X50 with a built in 16-track sequencer.
  19. I think an original story would be cooler. Some nerdy OCR references would be fine, but a rock opera solely about OCR wouldn't go over very well. Anyways, I hereby offer my services. Guitar, Piano, Synths/Keyboards, Sequencing, Editing, Vocals, etc.
