Also, If I get my WAV to sound how I want in my WAV editor, and then export to MP3, the sound is altered then too...and I'm not just talking about a lossy sound either. The resultant MP3 is over a decibel louder, and the waveform is altered visually in relation to the original WAV. Is this normal?
Yes, that is normal.

This is a great source, too. I hope someone finds some time to give it some love!

Yes, I’ve selected the source. All will be revealed soon

Can you leave a download link from Youtube !?
I don't think so.

Wow. I’ve only managed to listen to half of the tracks so far, but when I listen to the rest I’ll definitely be comparing notes.

Thanks for the suggestion, TVG. I don't think I'll choose that one but at least it got me off my butt. It's actually not too bad to look at a game soundtrack here on OCR and see which tracks already have remixes after all. For reference, the tracks in Secret of Mana that would be eligible for PRC right now are:
a conclusion
calm before the storm
ceremony
file select
did you see the ocean
eternal recurrence
i closed my eyes
in the dead of night
it happened late one evening
meridian dance
monarch on the shore
morning is here
mystic invasion
now flightless wings
prophecy
secret of the arid sands
steel and snare
the curse
the little sprite
the oracle
the wind never ceasesMaybe I'll choose one of them

Sorry, I haven’t had time to select a source for the next round yet. It’s hard to find a good one to do for this competition. I wanted to select something from Secret of Mana. Could I get an extension on selecting the source, and could anyone help me find one from Secret of Mana that hasn’t been done yet?

Ack it seems to be over on ThaSauce, it's showing me with the voting screen. I have my entry all rearing to go.
Any ideas?
I've also got something in the works. How much time is left?

What’s the alternative?
I always think it’s interesting to see how people work. I don’t know that I’d stick around for too long but I like getting insight into peoples’ creative processes.
If you want to make it educational, maybe talk a bit about what you’re trying to accomplish with each section and each instrument, how you plan to do it, and what alternative ways to accomplish your goals you might consider if your first attempt doesn’t work out well.

Overture 5?
Disclaimer: I’ve never tried it.

but then again, how often do people sequence rock n roll lol
Yeah, who does stuff like that?

I tend to agree with that. Get a decent set of open cans, Sonarworks, and Canopener. Sonarworks and Canopener both have trials so you can see how big of a difference they make, and both go on sale every now and then.

Submitted!
*EDIT* Resubmitted, I forgot to make an ending to my entry.
For some reason the preview is still the old version, but if you download it, it's the new version with the ending. Weird.
Clear your browser cache. It's just a display error on your end. (I've run into this a few times before.)

I listened to them both and thought you both did a good job. The source just didn't speak to me.

What a freaking epic way to end this competition. Both of these tracks were incredible, and they couldn't be more different in their presentations. Well done everyone. Well done.

Still Damage Drums. There is a wide variety of ways you can get awesome sounds from that massive package. From full loops, partial loops and fully adaptable kits - I wish my other sound libraries were as diverse as Damage. One of these days, right? Anyways, thx for comments guys. I shall be posting Dex's source pick momentarily.
I first heard about Damage a while back and I was thinking maybe I would pick it up eventually to add the occasional epic rumbly hit to my tracks. I had no idea it was so diverse. I'll have to look into it more.

For PRC, go nuts.
You might not get all the votes if the source is changed beyond all recognition, but really the sky is the limit.
