Man, has it been over 10 years ago that I joined this website? I don't believe. Anyway when I was in high school it became clear that I would have no choice but to devote my life to music pretty early on. However, I also really loved video games and felt very comfortable with my nerd identity. In my typical practice of patrolling the internet, I stumbled upon OCR--I found it provided the perfect balance for my music and gaming interests. I became inactive for a little while, until I started school at Peabody where I met Jill "Pixietricks" Goldin (who is now Jill Aversa!). The combined nerd energy led me back to OCR, on which I've lurked ever since!

I haven't taken any steps towards getting a hotel room. am i screwed? or a badge for that matter...

If there's a new type, I feel like they would have to retroactively change a lot of pokemon's types--I feel like a lot of the normal types would fit that category

Okay well I opened it. And I can't believe how well you hit the nail right on the head: I love handmade artsy stuff like this, first of all, so getting some handmade pixel art fabric was amazing. But Link's Awakening was the first Gameboy game I ever owned--this game gives me so much nostalgia. This is really amazing-one of the most meaningful gifts I've ever gotten. You've outdone yourself--thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I was gonna say- are you sure the problem isn't that you're just listening to bad music? This touches on what others have said, but what we call "Classical" music represents such a grandiose collection of music that its not really fair to represent it all within the context of choral music from who knows what century. I think the biggest distinction for me between classical music and anything else that's popular to the kids these days is that you have to invest yourself in the listening process. This can be difficult for newcomers of classical music because most people aren't accustomed to "trying" to listen- most music in media, as well as pop and rock and stuff typically make everything extremely obvious. Songs are shorter to pander to theever shortening human attention span, and form typically follows a predictable and widely accepted structure. For a lot of composed within the "classical" tradition, they are writing music that they want you to listen to with the same level of attentiveness you would read a good book with. Video game music and other forms of functional or popular kueic are designed to MAKE you feel something. Classical music offers you the opportunity to feel something.

For the first time, I'm not sure if I want to buy something or send something I already have/made...
