  1. I do the sidewalk thing. I also used to lift my feet from the floor of the car over the spaces of dotted road lines as we drove by them. Now, I count notes when I sing sometimes, or count measures automatically when listening to music. I wouldn't call it a disorder... just a weird thing that happened from being a musician!
  2. Hey seb I am looking for a room as well!!
  3. I would like to piggyback off this because I'm looking for a room too!
  4. Aaand registered. Who needs a roomie?
  5. Yes, I did! You can find that here: Thanks a bunch, guys! This track really does hold a special place in my heart; glad I had the opportunity to share it with you all!
  6. Oh man, how could I have forgotten Ligeti! And Messiaen, for that matter.
  7. Thanks folks! Posted a link to the mp3, if you're interested: http://tindeck.com/listen/jame
  8. So I just got some new microphones and I decided to record some improvisations to test them out. One of them was totally free, but this one was based on a theme from Chrono Cross. It's probably way too liberal to submit to OCR (and I'm not wholly satisfied with my performance), but I thought I would share it here anyway! Here's the mp3: http://tindeck.com/listen/jame
  9. I LOVE Steve Reich!!! Steve Reich!!! I'm a big minimalism fan in general, though Phillip Glass tends to rub me the wrong way. But yeah. Reich, John Adams, David Lang, Joseph Schwatner, all composers I'm into right now. I'll post more when I think of them. There are a lot
  10. A bunch of those links didn't work! Oh well. I still clicked on all of them. Here's me: http://gplus.to/drumultima
  11. AUGH a competition I wanted to do has it's finals during Magfest! I don't know anymore
  12. ohhhhh i wanna go. I will go. I can go. I can do it! I will find a way. Katie I'd want to room with you but I think I snore...
  13. it does Yo Gui, just so you know! Your glockenspiel plays out of the playable range of the instrument. Not a big gripe, it still sounds pretty... just in case, you know, you ever wanted someone to play it live That, and a glockenspiel that plays that low wouldn't be so little! One thing I would recommend is to put those low notes on tubular bells (chimes) as part of the ensemble!
  14. Figured this was interesting enough to share here. Apparently, Beyonce is a descendent of Gustav Mahler, who, for those of you who don't know that name, is one of the most celebrated orchestral composers of the western canon, and was a pivotal force in the shaping of orchestral music as we know it today. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3795389/Beyonces-classy-genes-revealed.html Not particularly earth-shattering, but certainly interesting! I wish I was related to a big name composer...
  15. Hey, I'm in Germany with a lot of free time, so rather than go explore and see this country, I decided to work on my remix some more! http://tindeck.com/listen/zexk Still trying to work out of my comfort zone!
  16. so I'm in Germany for a few weeks, and I found a used video game store in town here! They have a bunch of PAL-model snes and mega drives! Definitely gonna pick a couple things up before I come back. Maybe I'll get a bunch of games in german as well...
  17. Congrats Larry! If you want, I'll be your maid of honor. I've had some experience in that field.
  18. Thanks guys! I haven't played around with that synth enough... I'll have to mess around with it more. Anyway, a bit of an update... this is really my first solid attempt at slicing and stuff. Honestly, I'm cheating with the drums--just doing it in midi. Anybody have any good tips/tools/tutorials on slicing? Here's the new wip: http://tindeck.com/listen/wcpx
