What video is this on? EDIT: nevermind, found it. Luxray214's had his comments hidden on the OCR channel now. You won't see him posting this nonsense.

Lylat System CLEAR: A Star Fox Tribute Album
DarkeSword replied to The Nikanoru's topic in Recruit & Collaborate!
If you want to release this through OCR with the option of physical release down the line, you should know that we do all of our physical printing through Nationwide Disc. Nationwide has templates for packaging; the two types of packaging we usually do are digipaks and sleeves. Any multi-disc album would be done as a digipak, and any single disc album would be either digipak or sleeve. As far as OCR is concerned, jewel cases with inserts are not really an option; they break too easily. It's also important to note that when preparing album art, make it 300 DPI. That's the minimum quality needed for print. A good test would be to take your art and paste it into the one-disc sleeve template and make sure it's large enough to go over the bleed lines. -
No it isn't.

Dead ringer for a modern remake of Tales of Phantasia. The Sakuraba is strong with this one. The harp is a bit mechanical, which is not so great when it's such a prominent sound in the beginning. There's a hardpanned shaker in the right that's distracting too. Overall though it's nice. Don't see any big issues that haven't already been mentioned. I like it. YES

[RvK] [2017] Rounds 5-8: Squad vs. Squad and Boss Battles
DarkeSword posted a topic in Public Voting
Download the Music: Squad vs. Squad and Boss Battle Block 2 Squad vs. Squad Battle: You must use the poll to vote for the tracks you like better. If you’re able, please leave reviews of the tracks in this thread. Boss Battle: Only two tracks from Team Robot were submitted, so voting for Round 8 tracks will not take place. Team Robot wins by default. Voting ends Sunday May 28, at 9PM EDT. The most important thing to consider when voting is how well the remix incorporates and arranges both themes. Production and enjoyability should also be considered, but this is primarily an arrangement competition. Everyone is allowed (and encouraged) to vote, including competitors. You are required to make an actual decision for each choice, meaning, you cannot declare a draws or ties for different places. This will be counted as not voting and your vote will not be counted. Everyone must adhere to the Competitions Code of Conduct. -
Well, Apex 2017 is not happening, so I'm shuttering this for now.

I hope that later on they expand this out and introduce Darkwing.

Breath of the Wild 2D Remake
DarkeSword replied to TheChargingRhino's topic in Recruit & Collaborate!
First things first: don't name your thread things like "I HAVE THE BEST IDEA EVER." Always name your threads what they are actually about. I renamed your thread. As for your idea, someone already started doing this and got a C&D from Nintendo. You're free to recruit if you really want to, of course. -
Maui Mallard wasn't made by Capcom, nor was it part of the Disney Afternoon.

I really want to grab this but I'm neck-deep in Persona 5 right now. Definitely going to grab it soon. Want to wait a little and see if there'll be a Switch version though.

Just continue to block and report.

This isn't a selling thread. Please try to stay on topic. If people want to make arrangements to sell/buy things, do it via PM or use the sale/want thread. -
It's really fun. I like how it's more than just a defend-the-door horde mode that Junkenstein was (thought Junkenstein was really awesome).

Fellas, I feel as though we're not understanding the goal of the History and Study subforum. This is not a place to just post tracks you like and walk away, especially if you're "too lazy to check" who the composers of those tracks are. It's also not a place to just make a thread to say "this composer is really good" or "this composer is my favorite" and leave it at that. History and Study is, as @BardicKnowledge outlined in his welcome post, "to help describe why and how we have certain reactions to music, and to ask questions when we don't yet have that understanding. Sometimes it might be what the music is doing in the context of something else -- gameplay, art direction, etc. Sometimes it might be something neat about how the music is constructed or orchestrated. Sometimes it might be how the music relates to other pieces of game, film, or art music." If you want to discuss Takenobu Mitsuyoshi and other composers who have written for Sega's games, that's great. But the discussion needs to go beyond the superficial "I love Sega music composers." It needs to dig into how their music relates to the games they're in. Why does it fit? What does it accomplish? What techniques did the composer use that made this piece so effective in this section of the game?
