  1. Yeah. PlayStation d-"pad" sucks too. Why the hell is that middle part underneath the controller case?
  2. I just watched all of Kamichu this weekend. Amazing supernatural slice-of-life series. A few episodes actually got me tearing up. It's got all the charm of a Miyazaki film with none of the pretentiousness.
  3. Yeah it's pretty amazing, isn't it? When the beta was out, I tried it with Thicket and was totally diggin' it.
  4. No, we removed one of his mixes during lockdown because the source music wasn't originally from a video game, but from the Sailor Moon anime. Dave never posts anything of his own to the panel.
  5. I'm sorry, I don't really see the problem. That looks AWESOME. How do I get mine to do that?
  6. Never. In fact, when my own music gets posted to OCR, I never listen to it ever again.
  7. Feel free to ignore Arek. He's the resident internet-cool-guy.
  8. And you know this because..........? Don't worry man, I won't tell pixie.
  9. Sorry, but that's total bullshit as far as WIP forum is concerned. The WIP forum is one of the most important aspects of the site that simply does not get enough attention because it's buried in the forums. OCR is about the remixes, and the WIP forum is for the development of upcoming artists and their remixes. Top-level link would be great Dave.
  10. It's out in trade. Street Fighter: The Comic Ultimate Edition. It collects the entire first series. That's what's sitting on my shelf. PAY ATTENTION DUDE
  11. You can't be serious. BitTorrent is a way to download remixes. Why wouldn't they be there? It's not a cross-reference tool, it's a download option! 'Cause you know, the torrents aren't mentioned on VotL's own frontpage, or VotL's album page, or on every single download page, including mixes from VotL. Oh wait, they are.The torrents took up a lot of vertical space on the homepage, and in the interest of promoting other important areas of the site that were not getting enough exposure, like the WIP forum, torrent links were removed from the homepage.
  12. No, it wasn't by Prot. It was by sadorf and modified by Prot. Also, that wasn't the best A1 joke OCR ever played. The best A1 joke by far is EAMix.
  13. Torrents are ON the download pages for every remix on the site.
  14. We aim to add 20 new judges in the next 6-8 weeks or so. If any of you think you have what it takes, write a 100-200 word essay explaining why you would be a good judge and send to darkesword at ocremix dot org.
  15. The Russian Remix Roulette icon should be a bullet bill, stylized for consistency with the other icons.
  16. Like JJT, I'm gonna say writing long-winded submissions emails, especially when they don't deliver the goods. I don't need a dissertation, just a few thoughts about your approach. Another thing I really hate is when someone sends us a mix and tries to use some self-deprecating-reverse-psychology bullshit on us by saying "This probably won't get accepted anyway, but I figured I'd send it your way to get some feedback." Sorry, but we're not the WIP forum. We evaluate remixes for the site, not for your personal improvement. If you don't honestlybelieve that your remix is going to get accepted to the site, don't submit it. Every time I've been rejected from OCR (something that hasn't happened in years, but that's beside the point), I've been surprised. I have confidence in every submission I make, and if I make a remix that I don't believe would be posted to OCR, I don't submit it. It doesn't make me any less of an artist. One last pet peeve: if you submit a song to OCR, don't use your submission email to editorialize about how you think the submissions process is full of shit, or how certain judges lack "credentials." That's just rude, and while we always strive to judge the music and not the person, that kind of bullshit is a quick ticket to a glib vote.
  17. As for me, no I don't have a music related job. I do reliability testing for high-power laser diodes. Before that I worked at a nuclear power plant.
  18. I am honestly convinced that Gray was a woman, and never told any of us.
  19. Thanks man; "On The Day The World Changed..." was what inspired me to make a Mana mix.
  20. All very good. The Alpha manga and Sakura Ganbaru (which are both in the same continuity) are very good. Udon's comic is also great in that it touches on a lot of elements of the stories of the Alpha series and II and sort of rolls them up into a cohesive story. The second part is starting soon, and they're also planning a mini-series based on SF3, which I'm really looking forward to.
  21. Street Fighter isn't know for it's storyline?! My Street Fighter The Comic: The Ultimate Edition sitting on my bookshelf disagrees. So do my Street Fighter Alpha and Sakura Ganbaru mangas. I PLAY STREET FIGHTER FOR THE RIDICULOUS STORYLINE AND I'M SICK OF M. BISON.
  22. 3D models aren't sprites. Cut that shit out right now before it catches on.
  23. Because the director of SF2 described SF4 has the Second Coming of SF2. It has all original 8 fighters, includes SF2 locations, and takes place right after SF2. The game is designed with SF2 players in mind; people who are used to SF2 should be able to pick it up and immediately get a feel for it. It's another SF2 game.
  24. Fuck Heroes, I want my CHUCK. MORE YVONNE STRAHOTSKY PLEASE
