  1. This mix sounds so empty. A lot of it is a crappy synth guitar and drums, with no bassline or any kind of harmonic support. Boring and lifeless. The beats are not groovy, and the melody is quite jumpy. I just can't get into this; sounds really amateurish. NO
  2. This is an exact replica of the original. Way to get my hopes up. *NO OVERRIDE*
  3. I love Relm's theme. Don't mess it up. Okay. The drum track sounds really extraneous. There are some nice change-ups, but it gets a bit repetitive. Sounds to me that the piano is just too loud too, compared to the drum track so there's a balace issue. Sounds like the drummer is sitting WAAAAAY in the back of a big room, and the piano is right up near the door, and we're standing in the doorway. The piano is pretty nice though. I'm going to say NO on this one, but please consider fixing up the piece. Maybe eliminating the drum track altogether would help?
  4. This is so lifeless. The sax sounds very mechanical. Vary up your velocities once in a while. The drums are the same 1-bar loop over and over again, and they seem to stress count 1 all the time, which is a no-no in most forms of jazz. As for the arrangement, it's a bit repetitive and it doesn't really go anywhere. No highs, no lows, no nothing. Boring. While I can hear the source tune in this, it's not all that prevalent, and I wouldn't be able to tell you that this is a Goron mix upon the first 50 listens. Balance between the insturments is off too. Sax is too quiet, guitar is too loud. Here's a tip about jazz: it has to sound live. That means that the drummer won't play the same thing over and over again for three minutes. The saxophonist won't play every single note at the same volume. You will hear the arrangement build and release; you'll hear varying degrees of intensity in the same song. If you're writing 'jazz,' you need to capture that. This piece does not capture that. NO
  5. Straight guitar cover over drumloops. Pretty unimaginative. The guitar is too loud and fills my ears in a bad way. I sincerely hope you do have something better up your sleeve. NO
  6. Right around 1:19 I'm thinking to myself that this song is just too repetitive. Certainly a nice texture, but I think that it's just too basic as far as percussion and accompaniment go. Arrangement follows the layout of the original piece, and the melody is just too quiet. NO
  7. This is a fairly straightforward piece. When it starts I'm thinking "oh man, another mmtss-saria mix ," but as far as mmtss Saria mixes go, this one isn't really that bad, especially after getting further into the arrangement. It's a bit on the repetitive side, but what's there is nice and pleasant to listen to, and I think there are some spots in this piece that really shine, 3:21 in particular. Nice texture going on. Certainly not the greatest mix ever, but I find it to be an enjoyable, straightforward mix that makes no pretense at being anything other than fun. YES
  8. Very interesting mix. I didn't like that arpeggiator at the opening, but it disappeared soon enough. Lots of nice percussion stuff going on, and yeah, it's very off-the-wall. Some of the processing stuff reminds be of SirNuts' stuff, in a good way. Nice sounds, interesting arrangement. YES
  9. I agree with the other judges. The square wave and the guitar = teh awesome, but unfortunately, this mix repeats a bit too much for my liking, and the percussion is pretty weak. It could use a bit more bass too. Not bad though. Some nice ideas going on here, and a good texture. I'm going to say NO, but this one has potential. Try to spruce up the percussion and work on the construction of the song. GO GO GO NO!
  10. DARKESWORD IS STILL THE VGF ALL*STAR WITH IMPROVED 16-BIT GRPAHICS!!!
  11. Here is my FINAL JUDGEMENT: The drums are wonky. What's up with the loudness? Aside from that its a pretty boring arrangement, which has nothing really going for it aside from that "OMG ITS A ROBOT MARCHING UPON US!!! DOOOOOOOM!" feel to it. NO
  12. Hmm... The piano is pretty good in my opinion, but the sound quality is poop. Poop, I say! What's up with the hissing? Like BD mentioned, the strings are unnatural sounding. Also, harpsichord shouldn't have varying velocities. The harpsichord always has a constant velocity; that's part of the reason the pianoforte was invented. Do more things than just doubling the melody in two instruments. First it was the strings, and then it was the harpsichord. How about some harmony? NO
  13. Seriously man. Naked chicks are cool and all, but let's keep it out of the sigs if we're posting outside of UnMod. Anyway, this is pretty neat, albeit simple. Like Prot said, drums are weak, but the other sounds make up for it. Nice synth stuff going on. A bit buzzy for my tastes, but not bad. I give it a YES. Not a totally awesome YES, but a pretty good YES.
  14. A lot of thick chords that I'm really not a fan of. Strings sound really unnatural and cut too quickly. Leads are unexpressive and the entire arrangement is a bit too short for what it attempts to accomplish. Piano was kind of awkward and jumpy in the opening part too. NO
  15. It should be noted that the Braveheart remix he's referring to is this: An issue we may want to keep in mind here is that does this remix really show the proficiency of the arranger in adapting Dragon Roost Isle to the style of the Braveheart remix (for a YES vote), or does it show that the remixer was unoriginal in simply taking the sounds and style of the Braveheart remix and applying it to Dragon Roost Isle(for a NO vote). I'm leaning towards the latter, but I'll have to listen again. I'm going to say NO. For me, it really doesn't show a lot of personality being brought to the mix; the song is contstructed exactly like the Braveheart remix, and the middle section really doesn't seem to have a lot to do with the source material.
  16. Leads are harsh and uninteresting, and the whole texture of this song sucks. It's all so buzzy and distant. Drums are weak too. There's not a lot of attention paid to balance here. =( NO
  17. It's definitely not just an update. However, it's more of a soundalike someone would use if they can't get the rights to the original music. The one melodic line from the original is altered in such a way that it becomes its own piece more than a rearrangement. Aside from that, the whole thing sounds very lo-fi to me for some reason. Nice stuff, but those issues warrant a NO
  18. OMG Oi Zero Bass!! It's me ParagonX9!!! What are you doing here man? lol Oi. Seriously. Use PM's for private conversation. Christ.
  19. They let you download it as many times as you want, and they have the registry key generator on their site if you ever need it. The only thing you HAVE to back up is the username and passcode they give you.
  20. Anyway, even if you bought the producer edition FL studio, you can pay the difference between FL studio and FL XXL for the plugins. No man, XXL is a limited time offer; after a few weeks you'll have to pay full price for the rest of the stuff, instead of saving 40%. The total cost will be a lot more if he waits.
