  1. Congratulations you two...I always thought you made a cute couple (and I say this in the least awkward way possible)
  2. Going to be missing it this year as well unfortunately...things came up and I won't be at home this Christmas.
  3. So I have to say...being a melee class enthusiast, that the new ret paladin is the most fun Ive had in this game since release. They can actually kill stuff without having to sit and drink or even heal. It's almost like they're a holy warlock now. You're pretty much able to spam consecration and holy whirlwind yourself back to full health when fighting multiple mobs. Bravo Blizzard, they made the most boring melee (in my opinion) into the most fun Ive had since release.
  4. I'm sure it's still being worked on by someone behind the curtains. Just be patient and busy yourselves with other stuff for the time being...like the wrath of the lich king pre-patch coming out next week! (for all you WoWers) =D
  5. *cough* I actually caught myself faking this past month in my own original WIPs. Although to me, it didn't feel right...it kind of felt like this isn't my style, and I'm just learning to copy other people. I don't know if I like that. I've kind of had my own style since I started 5 years ago, and lately, it feels like I've just been copying other people. It's almost as if I reversed the process, y'know? That aside, I've become much less concerned with getting accepted on OCR as of late, though I most likely will try again in the future. For now, I'm just doing my own thing in music, and the occasional VG Cover.
  6. I used to have a bunch of VHS tapes that had recorded old (and I mean OLD) days of Toonami...back when they had Ronin Warriors and Thundercats (I really don't remember what else because it was so long ago) I'm sure by now those tapes are probably bad or lost somewhere. I kind of want to watch it as it was back then...with commercials and everything just for the nostalgia of it all. How about those old Geico commercials: "but I do have good news...."
  7. I have to agree about listening to recently posted mixes to get an idea of what an OCRemix sounds like in terms of originality. To be honest, I've never really thought about it before, because I haven't listened to many of the new mixes in the past couple of years. I suppose it's worth a try, at least to get an idea. In regards to the 50% rule, I was thinking mainly on older remixes which sounded very similar to the originals, but were still great remixes. Before now, I didn't realize that lockdowns were lenient on those particular remixes.
  8. Thanks for the replies everyone. A lot of what was said makes a lot of sense, and I feel a little more at ease now about the issue.
  9. I've been wondering this for a while now. I see WIPs on the wip board, including my own, be placed onto the panel and be disapproved mainly for being too close to the original. My question is this: ***exactly*** what are the judges looking for in terms of original interpretation? I would like multiple examples if possible...as this has become a very frustrating aspect of remixing for me (for this site) I ask this because I know there are a LOT of conservative sounding arrangements already on the site, and they have survived multiple lockdowns. Why is this? What makes them different from other conservative arrangements? Would it be passable to take just the lead from a soundtrack, then remake everything else above, below and around it? Or would the lead being very close to the original warrant a "NO" because it was too similar to the original. This is a serious question, because lately, I have to question the actual judging process, as it seems to have unwritten policies a lot of the time regarding how interpretive a mix is compared to the original.
  10. An OLD April Fools Joke. I even read through half the thread oblivious to the original date of posting.
  11. Those are some real pretty screenshots. I'm very much looking forward to this.
  12. Just a quick update. Since I started, I've noticeably lost weight in my abdominal area. I'm not exactly going by measuring my weight, rather watching my physical appearance change over time (and it's very exciting...I've been overweight my whole life, and this is the first time I've really gotten serious about it)
  13. It says in the article that it would be a prequel...so it might be during Avatar Roku's time? Or maybe while Aang was frozen. This could be interesting. It sounds like it mostly focuses on pvp and character development at the moment, but I'm sure they will have more content than that planned. also If Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko will be exec producers for the movie, then it might be more promising that people give it credit for.
  14. Nor mine probably...(way too conservative for OCR standards anyway) But I'm glad I was able to contribute nonetheless
  15. Ah, okay. Thanks Larry. I'll keep an eye out on the forum.
  16. I maybe sort of would like to see those said events portrayed in a new couple of episodes. Some questions left unanswered...the only thing I really don't want to see, honestly, is a sequel. However, one thing which may be interesting to see would be stories of the past, such as Avatar Kioshi and the conquerer who was trying to form an empire.
  17. This sounds like something fun. I would like to go if time permits (likelyhood is I will be able to go) (also: BUMPZOR)
  18. So...like...is it done and stuff? I know it's a charitable cause, but I'd like to see the collective project sometime =)
  19. I'm quite content with the series as is, and honestly, not really anticipating it that much. I'll probably see it, but for now, I'm still wholly satisfied with how the series ended.
  20. These are really cool! This would make a fun ocr art compo I think.
  21. I would hope that Nick decides to keep the crew they put together for Avatar for a new future project, if they plan anything. By the way, found this on IMDB: I'm actually relieved that they're not planning a sequel, as I think this series is great the way it ended. Also, If they're planning on three original movies, they're probably related to the story in some way, like filler movies on unseen events in the series: ========SPOILER======== such as Sozin's battle against the Air Nomads or Hakoda's involvement in the war. ========SPOILER========
  22. At first I thought Toph was annoyingly arrogant, but I really got to appreciate her as a very badass fighter.
  23. Some guys (and girls) got around to do their own dub of this dialogue, and although it's still bad, it's at least 2 and a half steps better than the real dub on a 1-10 scale. (no, really...they weren't really trying at all...they really did just do it for humor purposes) Regardless, yeah...this is like epic badness at its best.
  24. I have to admit, a lot of my favorite fluff moments involved Toph. Pfft. I used to worry about that, then I said to hell with it. I love cartoons, and I have to say Avatar is one of the best series I've seen in a long time.
  25. That was so epic. I won't include any spoilers, but I'd like to confirm that this is in fact the end of the story, and it was amazing. It was better than I ever could've imagined it would be. Now that that's settled, I have this to say: If anyone has never seen Avatar or gotten into it, give it a chance from episode 1. You may be very pleasantly surprised.
