  1. I'm very surprised no one has posted a thread about this so far, so I'll do it. This new series and incarnation of the beloved story has now been going on for 3 weeks, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. I'm not saying that it's better than the original, because the original is awesome, and a major classic of the last century (millennium). The animation is crisp and beautiful, and a lot of work has been put into the artwork of the show, including a gorgeous soundtrack which really helps to set the mood. A few major aspects have been changed, for example Lion-o being a teenager and Snarf being unable to speak, but I don't think these are show killers at all. All in all, I think that anyone skeptical about this new series should give it a chance. I've heard a lot of my friends say they would never watch it because they think it will ruin the original. The way I see it, it's not trying to replace or be the original. It's a great stand-alone series in and of itself and a very enjoyable show. I really hope Cartoon Network sticks with it until the end.
  2. Oh, I totally agree on the difficulty increase being welcomed from the loot rain disasters that were Naxxramas Reboot and Obsidian Sanctum. Even Malygos felt a little too easy. The only challenging roles in that fight were the tank in phase one, since they had to position the boss away from those tiny twinkles that slowly floated to the boss and learning phase 3 (which I actually thought was quite fun) I just wish it was a little bit easier for the first few instances. It's also a little awkward with them all being roughly the same difficulty. I kind of liked how Malygos was harder than Kel'Thuzad and Sartharion...it made it feel like a higher tier of progression which required better gear and more player awareness. I haven't had the opportunity to raid much with my guild due to work hours unfortunately, but I've seen a little bit here and there so far, most often re-joining the main guild raid on Sunday night. My favorite fight so far is Al'Akir followed by Atramedes. (haven't downed Akir yet, but working on him in my own in-guild, non-DKP, off-night raid)
  3. So what do you guys think about the rather sudden spike in difficulty? I guess the super hardcore people were upset about Wrath being easier than BC, but I don't think I like how the first bosses of the new raids feel like we're doing ICC heroic modes. They seem more stressful than fun for the most part. The only exception for me is the Conclave of Wind, which I find to be a very fun and interesting boss fight. (I also think Atramedes is extremely fun, but he's not quite a first boss) I think that it would've been better if we started out with roughly Ulduar difficulty bosses and moved forward from there.
  4. This kind of this has happened to me once or twice on Youtube with one original song and a remix. The guy who did it played dumb too which made it more aggravating. I suppose it's harder to prove I wrote it when the only open place I have those select songs posted is Youtube. He obviously hasn't taken it down yet either after I told him to. Do remixers have some kind of intellectual property over remixed material? If so I'll just report him to youtube for it. People should also check out this guy to see if he's stolen from you, because that's kind of his thing too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MiyYlTEHdg
  5. I've been wondering about this one myself. Never really having been much a fan of the original story of Rapunzel, I had my doubts, though I'll probably end up giving it a go this weekend. I know for sure I'll have to tell my aunt about it since she was considering taking my 3 little cousins to go see it.
  6. First free for all in quite a long time! It was interesting, but not all that different than usual "We need to blindfold JH more often just to see what happens"
  7. I'd just like to say that OHC is a 'friendly atmosphere' competition. General nitpicking and sarcastic comments aren't appreciated. This isn't the judges panel, so don't treat it as such. However, inappropriate shows of sexual desire for the song or the artist are sometimes accepted, even encouraged.
  8. 1 hour long season premiere tomorrow (Thursday) night!! Don't forget to DVR if you can't make it =D
  9. I'm not sure how well known this game is - I've never heard of it until about 5 month ago when it was having it's (2 year...I think) anniversary. It's a free MMORPG which makes money by selling specialty items to players using a credit system. Now, let's be honest...the game is kind of grindy and repetitive - not quite as fun as say Diablo 2. I'd say that the gameplay is decent. So what's the big deal about it? I'd say 3 things in order from top to bottom: 1. THE MUSIC (omg the music) 2. The Artwork 3. The Characters The music for this game is phenomenal to say the least. If it didn't have the amazing soundtrack that it did, I don't think I'd be able to play it. This is the real reason I made this thread, to show how awesome the soundtrack is. I picked 2 of my favorite tracks that I've heard so far: Dark Moon Castle, and Lair of the Evil Dragon. (Sorry for the loud FX in the DMC video, I couldn't find a proper video to showcase it) area music starts at 0:15 - also it skips from time to time due to video editing sadly only the first 2:20 of the Lair video are the track for that area - the rest is overdubbed. Now I suppose I should talk about the other points too: The artwork is gorgeous - very colorful and detailed backgrounds & foregrounds as well as very clean looking sprite design. Every single character in the game has their own painted portrait - which I think is incredible. No NPC in the game looks like another; they are all original.
  10. Is it a bad thing that I've never heard the OST Terra soundtrack on its original source?
  11. This is awesome!! It cuts my remixing time from 3 hours to 3 seconds.
  12. Rabbids Go Home (hilariously fun) Punch Out (havent opened yet, but excited to play) Wii Sports Resort Gift cards from family + friends.
  13. I shall keep this page open and download / listen to it tomorrow morning =)
  14. So I was doing a search earlier tonight for a recipe for Christmas cookies, and I came along something that looked promising. I started working on the recipe, then unfortunately, came across a part of the recipe where it said "Let chill for several hours" And I knew I didn't quite have that kind of time, so I modified the recipe and added my own slight twist to it, and these cookies turned out amazing, and very easy for anyone to make who would like some holiday cookies. The texture of them is crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. (By the way, sorry for this post being so late, but I wasn't sure if it would work myself, but the taste test produced very good results ^^) 2 cups flour 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed 1 egg 1 tablespoon 15% cream (any kind of cream from 10% to 35% will work fine) 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla Sugar Sprinkles 1. Preheat oven to 375 F 2. In a small bowl, blend 1 cup flour, baking powder, and salt - set aside. 3. In a large bowl, blend together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. 4. Blend egg, vanilla, and cream into butter mix. 5. Stir the flour mixture into the butter mixture, then add the other cup of flour. The dough will become very stiff. 6. Pour Sprinkles into a flat-bottom container. 7. Take tablespoon sized balls of dough and flatten them slightly, then dip one side into sugar sprinkles. 8. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes. Makes 30-40 cookies Merry Christmas everyone!

I think this was, for me, one of the most moving films I've ever experienced. For those 2 and a half hours, I was on Pandora, watching a real event take place, and it was breathtaking. I actually found myself admiring the Na'vi and their shamanistic ways, as well as their literal connection to the ecosystem around them. I'm definitely going to see this at least once more in Imax, and definitely buying this on DVD when it becomes available.
  16. o.O I guess people haven't forgotten about this. I still have my mix on my comp, and it's got a mountain of e-dust on it.
  17. I actually have a bit of a dilemma on the whole EQ thing. I've listened to it through my USB headphones, my desktop speakers and my ipod. The speakers and ipod sound good, but the USB sounds, as you said, piercing in the upper frequencies...So, I'm not really sure what to go with, aside from comparing it to other songs I have on my comp. I definitely could bring out the bdrums a bit more, and vary up the drumline + some other stuff. What exactly is a palm mute? The guitar playing power chords (well actually all of them) are samples or synths. I'm not sure what a palm mute sounds like exactly, but I think I have an idea. And on the sample for the lead, it's actually the exact sound I envisioned for this particular mix.
  18. New version posted. Any comments, feedback, suggestions appreciated.
  19. I think it's safe to say... Sweet llamas of the Bahamas!!
  20. Dreams of Violet v2 Dreams of Violet v1 This is something I came up with yesterday. It's kind of a relaxing rock electronica song. Anyway, I'm fairly pleased with how this turned out, if anyone has any comments, feedback, or suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it.
  21. Good news everyone! Turns out I shall be able to participate, and gladly so
  22. If this project were to come off the ground again, Id certainly be interested in taking part. If you'd like to hear some of my better productions, send me a PM and Ill show you some samples of my more recent work. I've gotten a lot better over the years.
