I didn't actually watch Sony's conference, but from how little people seem to be reacting/caring about whatever went on, it must have been a miserable failure of a conference.

So I've condensed my entire pulling strength set into one brief sequence. I can get through three or four, then I'm pretty much dead. Same with my pushing strength set. I'll post videos sometime soon.

Anybody got any tips or tricks for this? I'm finding it to be a real bitch. What I want to do is have live guitar and mandolin with sequenced percussion (and perhaps strings and accordion). Normally I'd just play with a click track, but all my mixes so far have kept the same tempo throughout. What's the best way to synchronize parts like this when the tempo isn't constant?

My opinion: biggest problem is the complete lack of any subtlety in the script and direction. I mean, Wily was a great actor, but the way his intro scene was scripted, he might as well have just looked into the camera and said "hi, I'm Dr. Wily, and I'm the villain of this movie." Granted, we know he's the bad guy, but still a bit more depth and subtlety in the writing could have made this movie a lot better.

Really not wild about the piano sample; I think a brighter sample would work much better. Flute sounds nice, percussion sounds excellent. Lead synth is awesome. Arrangement is nice.

I have a cousin by the name of Josh Rebick who designs guitars and effects pedals. His Christmas present to me was a custom-built fuzz pedal, which is hands down the best fuzz I've ever played through. He says he's happy to make more of them if other people are interested, so I thought I'd pimp it out here. Note the intro; there is zero volume automation, and I didn't touch any of the controls on either the pedal or the guitar while recording that part. In other words, all variation you hear in volume/distortion is due to dynamics in my playing. For my mixes, I generally use guitar rig. For gigs, I use a Kendrick 2010 combo (a clone of the '59 fender bassman). Not all that great for metal, but good for just about anything else. As far as pedals go, I have two favorites that I use at every possible opportunity. The first is a modded TS-9. The second is the Fuzzy Waters, a fuzz pedal designed by my cousin, Josh Rebick (for any of you who've seen me playing at MAGfest, odds are I was plying through this). Off crutches, back to training. No tumbling yet, but working on rebuilding all the upper-body strength I lost while I was out (fortunately, I didn't lose as much as I thought I would)
