  1. I'm officially backing out. I'd love to come up and hang out with you guys, but I wouldn't be able to get there until right before the concert and I'd have to leave right after, so I really wouldn't have any time at all to hang out if we aren't seated together.
  2. Honestly, with all the official concerts I've been to and heard, I've heard very few official live orchestra arrangements that are as good as the sort of stuff that gets posted every week here. Which I can get for free.
  3. Then perhaps you should take a break from remixing and work on your reading comprehension. EDIT: I will say, though, that this music has some potential (assuming it's not too coverish; I'm not familiar with the sourcetunes), at least as far as I can tell from a low-quality youtube listening. We'll be able to give you much more useful critique if we can hear a higher quality version. There are a number of free filehosting sites to which you could upload your tracks.
  4. Hey, all, just talked to Larry, he says he's still gonna buy group tix but won't be able to make it there himself. If you haven't already bought tix, hold off a little longer. EDIT: Scratch that. We don't have 15 people, so no group rate. IF YOU PLAN ON GOING, BUY YOUR OWN TICKETS I think I'm gonna back out; I won't have much time to hang out before/after the concert, and if we're not all going to sit together, I don't think it will really be worth the expenditure for me.
  5. The track is claimed. Also, hemo wins.
  6. Buying tomorrow if I don't hear from Larry. Brandon, you can still give me a ride to Frederick saturday night, right?
  7. Hey, it's katethegreat! BIg fan of your stuff on youtube. As with all your stuff, this is vibrant, soulful, and absolutely beautiful.
  8. Less than two weeks away. Larry, can we please get on this? Like, now?
  9. First post should be completely up to date now.
  10. Absolutely true, though I'll dissagree with the notion that you can attain you maximum flexibility in 1-2 months. You can no more attain your maximum level of flexibility in 2 months than you can attain your maximum level of strength in 2 months. The thing to keep in mind while stretching: don't overdo it. You want to hold a stretch right around the threshhold of pain, but don't push far past it. Stretch far enough that it's just barely starting to hurt, and you'll generally get the best results. I'll post some of my favorite stretches later.
  11. All the way or almost all the way to one side. As for percussion, it's hard to say specifically; zircon did a really good guide on percussion awhile back, though, you might check that out: http://www.zirconstudios.com/tutorial1.php Here's the short version: add some variance in velocity, and make sure the drums aren't playing exactly the same thing every measure; throw in some minor variances in the pattern.
  12. Won't work; you gotta record it twice. If you take identical recordings and pan them hard to both sides, it will just sound like one centered recording. If you take two very similar recordings, however, the inherent differences between the two make the sound much richer.
  13. Some cool stuff here! Very nice rythm guitar work. The biggest problem is everything's centered, so everything is really indistinct. Here's what I'd do: Double-record the rythm guitars, and pan one hard left and the other hard right. This is a great way to beef up the rythm while also moving it out of the way so it doesn't croud out the leads. Move the flute slightly to one side and the strings slightly to the other. Vary up the percussion. It's really repetetive (though I like the samples used -- is that the ken ardency kit, or something else?). Flute-ish thing sounds fake, but I actually really like it. It sounds fake in a way that completely works in this context, and I honestly wouldn't change it.
  14. *hands up* What time are we meeting and where? I still need to buy my bus ticket.
  15. SO my endurance has definitely been getting better, and I've been steadily adding difficulty to my floor routine. I'll try to post a video in the near future.
  16. Working on it. Got about half the vocals re-recorded, so I need to finish those up and redo the guitar solo.
  17. http://www.geoffreytaucer.com/randomstuff/numbdreamers.mp3 It's actually kinda cool how LITTLE work this took.
