  1. I LOVED 2P mode in Kirby Superstar, and this is basically the same thing. Awesome.
  2. http://www.geoffreytaucer.com/fianchetto/aisha.mp3 This one's for a Neverwinter Nights 2 mod that I'm scoring. It's a character theme. Dunno how much more than that I'm allowed to say at this point, and how much is supposed to remain under wraps.
  3. Oh, noes! Fictional attractive girls! What is society comming to? The reason all girls are thin and sexy and all guys are manly and musclebound in videogames (with a few exceptions to both) is that THEY ARE FICTIONAL! This is what we do with fiction; we create a world that we know is different than our own but that we think would be cool. It would be cool if all girls were hot and wore skintight clothes. It would also be cool if you could respawn when you get thrown off a cliff. That's another recurring theme in videogames, but does it make people suicidal? No. Because it's fiction, and we all know it. Even if you are playing the most pornographic game ever made, it's no different than masturbation; it's a harmless way to get off on your fantasies.

  6. This has come up several times recently in this forum (as well as in a recent discussion on AIM), and I want to make sure that everybody considering getting into remixing is aware of this: CREATIVE X-FI SOUNDCARD SUCKS GIANT DONKEY BALLS, AND SHOULD NEVER BE USED FOR RECORDING OR REMIXING The reason is that it is very much a consumer card. What I mean by this is that it is not designed to sound accurate, it is designed to sound good to the average listener. What this means is that when you are listening to your work, the card may well cover some significant flaws which would be easily spotted on a more accurate system. The card colors the sound to try to make it sound better, which is not what you want as a producer; you want to hear it as-is. This is true of any part of your sound setup; you don't want something that colors or "enhances" the sound, you want something that will give you the most accurate sound possible.
  7. It's cheaper. Other than that, the differences between the programs mostly boil down to personal preference regarding workflow.
  8. On an ideal sound system in an ideal listening space, the best EQ setting is completely flat.
  9. OSHITS! Awesome news.
  10. It's sort of a friends of joecam party that Joe/his friends host about once every whenever they feel like it.
  11. Like I said, if you just show up with no plan, there's a 99% chance that somebody will be willing to offer you a room if you'll pay a cut of the cost. Of course it's better to work out plans beforehand, but I wouldn't worry if you don't. As for things being locked down, don't worry; with 3 months to go until the con, things are probably still pretty flexible with most people.
  12. Peter Pan. THe new one, not the disney cartoon version.
  13. Yeah, the convention really ends saturday night, and winds down sunday morning. Not much point in staying until sunday night.
  14. You can try to work it out with somebody beforehand, but honestly if you just show up, somebody will be willing to let you stay in their room as long as you're willing to cover a cut of the cost.
  15. Updated: http://h.xerol.org/f.php?f=500
  16. Toejam And Fucking Earl!
  17. Ooh, I may well get the congas.
  18. Wait a second. They have to prove they're chicks with a webcam? Like, you need to send naked pics to the management?
  19. If snessor doesn't work, I believe you can also rip samples using spctool
  20. We should have Larry run that panel.
  21. That would definitely be pretty cool.
  22. The technical answer: anybody can start a project. The more practical answer: considering there are 9586730495876 projects currently in production already, and considering you have a grand total of 4 posts, odds are low you'll be able to successfully get a project going at this point. The better known you are in the community, the more likely people are to join your project (yes, I know the grammar of that sentance was fucked up. stfu). However, I made a similar prediction about the Xenogears project, and that seems to be comming along pretty well, so I could be wrong.
  23. I'm trying to upload a video, and I keep getting the following error: "The video file cannot be greater than {{UPLOAD_LIMIT}} megs." Just like that; doesn't specify the upload limit, and this video is considerably smaller than several that I already have up. Any idea what the problem might be? EDIT: erm, ok, it works now. Nevermind.
