Gah! I'm stuck in the lakebottom temple. Can't figure out where the hell to go. Anyway, this game is fucking amazing. One of the best games I've ever played, if not THE best.

Rail and Koala. All you need to know. And LuiZa And Pixietricks Though neither of them is available Yeah, and even if we were, I think we're in a different category than those two. A less... "outgoing" one. Still, wingless, if it'll entice you to come, I promise to give you a sweet little peck on the cheek. -
A preamp is more specialized. And more pricey. A standalone mic preamp generally give you a lot more versatility on one or two mic channels, but from what I've seen, a good mic preamp with more than one input will probably cost $mucho. A mixer is basically used for signal routing; that is, plugging a bunch of line or mic inputs in and condensing them down to a single stereo output. Of course, you'll still need a soundcard with stereo input usually, though some (but not many) mixers these days also have USB output. My advice would be to try the stuff you already have first; you got that m-audio interface and the two mics, right? See how they work. The alternative will cost more. If you do end up sending the USB audio interface back, my advice to you would be to grab a mixer (behringer is a good low-end brand, mackie is a good high-end brand) and an e-mu 0404 audiocard.

Andy, do you have your strat at your house? Also, to those of you comming first to Port Authority: what time do you expect to get there? I'll be getting there around 11:30, so if you're comming in to Port Authority, give my cell a call sometime tomorrow after 10:00 am, and we can figure out if/where/when we'll meet before heading off to Grand Central.

We got a few seriously spoiled fuckers around here. -
Teaching and critiquing are not necessarily the same thing. Nevertheless, if you think you can write a tutorial on arrangement, feel free -- I'd definitely be curious to see how you approach it, and if you do it any differently than I do.

Este es en tu computador. No podemos download lo (no se como se dice "download" en espanol) Necesitas ponerlo en el red. Tambien, no lo das a todomundo; solamente a pixietricks. Puedes darlo a pixietricks por e-mail. (lo siento, no he practicado mi espanol mucho) -
VOCR: Vocal Remixing Compo- WINNERS ANNOUNCED!

Jus' lemme know what you need and when you need it. (I already have a couple of tracks in mind which would make for good vocal songs, I think. -
Creating MIDIs is basically where you start from; from there it's just a matter of what samples/VSTi's/Soundfonts/whatever you render it with. Sonar, Cubase, Tracktion, etc are also basically midi-creation programs, and they're quite popular among remixers. I suggest you take a closer look at those instructions; as I said, they'll probably be able to help you more than we will.

Same question, though: how can one possibly write a tutorial on arrangement? To an even greater extent than production, arrangement is completely different for everybody. I don't know how y'all do it, but I either have an idea or I don't. There's nothing I actually DO to come up with an arrangement, I just sit down and record when I think of one.
-
Two questions: 1) Does it have a helpfile? Online instructions? Anything like that? I don't think many remixers use that program, which means odds are low we'll be able to help you with it. That doesn't mean it's a bad program -- it just means that the included helpfiles will be able to help you far more than this forum will. 2) Why start another topic? Just use this one.

In many gamers' eyes, Zelda OoT is still the standard. I sure hope not, because OoT was still lacking for even its day. Your mom was lacking. Oot, however, was not.

Ok, so just a few hours ago, I, for the first time in my life, got a chance to play through an actual cranked up tube amp. Holy shit, teh hawtness. Played on my cousin's Kendrick and his Princeton, and the tone was absolutely eargasmic. Emulations I've tried do not even come close to the real thing. HOWEVER, I'll have to dissagree with PriZm's assertion that you can't get good solo distortion from software. Amplitube 2, though it may not sound like a REAL tube amp, can sound absolutely fantastic on leads.

I hope to enter the next edition of this. Also, Jill, lemme know if you need background tracks for future comps; I'll be happy to try my hand at those as well.
