  1. here's a well written overview of the game mechanics for those of you whom are unconvinced by my hastily written paragraph up above: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2016/08/26/what-makes-n-different-to-other-platformers/
  2. i've been part of the beta test for this game for the past few weeks, and it's brilliantly well made. I've been a fan of the game since its original flash version back in 04, and this iteration blows it out of the water. Hands down the smoothest and most satisfying platformer I've ever played, and I'd like to think that I'm not using hyperbole there Consider buying it, as it's well worth your money: http://steamcommunity.com/app/230270
  3. Feel free to help spread the word! He been feeling kinda down and not motivated to advertise it anywhere so I kinda took up the reins, but my reach is somewhat limited
  4. I was chilling with him while he put the finishing touches on it yesterday, and I'm really digging it. Go throw him some cash please, you'll get some rad tunes out of the deal, and he could use it right now! https://beatdrop.bandcamp.com/album/superluminal Edit: he noticed one of the renders got messed up and took it down to fix it. I'll make another post as soon as it's back!
  5. oh man, i have always loved your style (like, your solar jetman mix came up in a randomized playlist of my entire collection some time last year and i immediately stopped whatever it was i was doing at the time, visited your website, and downloaded everything), and this is no exception if this is released with a price tag i'll be first in line to throw some cash your way. really digging it
  6. btw theyve been consistenly updating this with bug fixes and quality of life enhancements, and in about a week theyll be releasing a build which includes local multiplayer this game is so great, y'all. i just beat all of the secret challenge rooms today and i FEEL ALIVE. gonna try to get my wife to play the co-op mode with me when it drops
  7. the cadaver formerly known as the artist formerly known as prince he gone
  8. Go buy it right now. It's like Zelda meets journey meets Diablo with hotline Miami on the side. I played it all day after work yesterday, and literally have not been able to put it down today. This game is hard too. The good kind of hard. The kind that gave me an incredible adrenaline rush once I figured out the pattern to the first boss and finally managed to beat him. Some tips: Look everywhere. You can dash to really tiny ledges if you aren't too far from them If you're having trouble with enemies, dash around them more. The mechanic is crucial If you're having trouble seeing the aiming reticle, turn down the game brightness I am in love with this game, thank you very much to everyone who kickstarted it
  9. well hot damn i've been away from the ocremix scene for a while but i'm glad i was inspired to come back and take a look. i love jazz jackrabbit and all of its music REALLY digging this, thanks for putting in the effort. wanna remix tubelectric zone next? ;]
  10. Further nitpicking: mother was released on the famicom, was translated and set to be released as "earthbound" on the nes, but never was.
  11. They just added a third person mode as well!
  12. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1659894998/failsafe/description This is a game that a friend of mine is working on as the lead programmer, and it looks incredible. Imagine a mixture of mirrors edge (with much simpler controls!), shadows of the colossus, and maybe some Prince of Persia stuff thrown in. Features voice work by dante basco and ashly burch, and has people on the team who were involved in mgs4 and journey amongst others. Consider giving this some support, I'd love to see them succeed!
  13. in case you guys weren't aware, he came back: https://shnabubula.bandcamp.com/ he also occasionally streams live performances, his hitbox.tv account is in his bandcamp profile
  14. i just gave this another listen, and realized it's composed in movements like a full classical suite, or perhaps even an opera (the whole album has that type of compositional element on second thought, but this track in particular stood out). the guy is incredibly brilliant and it would be a shame for his music to disappear. i certainly hope he feels better and comes back to us soon http://ubiktune.bandcamp.com/track/moonlight-passage
  15. This isn't the first time he's done this. He'll hopefully be back soon. I'm just especially surprised he took down his band camp account too, I just gave him some money for an album like a day or two before he did so
  16. This morning I was saddened to discover that Sam has deleted himself from the internet again (bandcamp included! ), so I was overjoyed to discover this website: http://www.shnabubula-archives.com/ It doesn't have everything that used to be on arnoldascher.com, nor does it have a few albums from his bandcamp like Ender's Game or SNESology (really glad I downloaded those when I did), but it has everything else I was missing. Happy to at least have found this.
  17. as a person who generally waits for the release of a new torrent before updating their collection (because i unfortunately dont have the time to come check the site for daily updates, and also because i tend to prune out mixes that i end up not really enjoying) might i suggest an addition of a section to the changelog which indicates how many mixes have been added to the torrent? put more simply, are these things updated per every 500? i'd like to know where to begin, without having to sift through the entire catalog all over again. last time i did so took me about 4 months!
  18. y'know it kinda upsets me that there aren't any comix zone remixes floating around the music in that game is SO GOOD i can only imagine what mazedude or shnabubula could do with said material
  19. please give a thorough listen to the OST for Comix Zone and then come back and agree with me that howard drossin is a god among men also, the game is damned fun, too
